HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA REPORTS FEBRUARY SALES

  • Weather wreaks havoc on sales nationwide

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 3, 2014 – Hyundai Motor America announced February sales of 49,003, down six percent from a year ago while up 11 percent over January.

“I don’t like to make excuses, but the awful weather we saw across the country really hurt traffic to our dealerships and ultimately kept our sales at a pace well below what we were expecting,” said Bob Pradzinski, vice president of sales. “They say ‘If you want to see the sunshine you have to weather the storm,’ so we’re all looking forward to some sunshine in March.”

Despite a tough month, Hyundai saw sales of its two smallest cars, Accent and Veloster, up 20 percent and two CUVs, Santa Fe and Tucson, up 12 percent.
