JAGUAR LAND ROVER REPORTS U.S. SALES FOR FEBRUARY

  • Land Rover brand increases 26 percent for February
  • Land Rover LR4 sales increase 81 percent
  • Jaguar Land Rover North America up 16 percent for February

MARCH 1, 2011 MAHWAH, NJ -- Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported February U.S. sales: Land Rover sales were 2,555 units, up 26 percent from 2,032 in February 2010; Jaguar sales were 692 units, down 9 percent from 761 in February 2010. Jaguar Land Rover North America February U.S. sales for both brands total 3,247 units, up 16 percent from 2,793 in February 2010. For 2011, year to date, Jaguar Land Rover North America sales are up 20 percent, with increases from both Jaguar and Land Rover.

Jaguar Land Rover North America finished 2010 with sales up for the year (+18 percent), reflecting full year increases in both Jaguar (+12 percent) and Land Rover (+21 percent).

"February was a mixed month for Jaguar Land Rover North America," said Jaguar Land Rover North America President Gary Temple. "The weather across the country and market forces drove Land Rover SUV sales up, but had a negative impact on the month's sales of Jaguar cars. Through the first two months of 2011, both Jaguar and Land Rover sales are up."

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

Land Rover's U.S. sales in February were up 26 percent. The Range Rover Sport was the volume leader with 984 units sold, a 24 percent increase from 795 units in 2010. LR4 sales increased 81 percent to 675 units from 372 in February 2010. Range Rover sales of 736 units were up 14 percent versus 646 sales in February 2010. For the year, Land Rover sales are up 21 percent versus 2010.

Land Rover's 2011 Model Year line-up features four models: The 230-hp 3.0 liter I6 powered LR2; the new LR4 powered by the 375-hp 5.0 liter V8; the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, both available with the naturally-aspirated 375-hp V8 and 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 powertrains.

Jaguar

On a year-to-date basis, Jaguar sales in the U.S. are up 17 percent driven by demand for the award-winning Jaguar XJ luxury sedan.

The new Jaguar Platinum Coverage features a five year/50,000 mile new vehicle limited warranty and complimentary scheduled maintenance for the duration of the warranty period, including no-cost replacement of select wear and tear components, and 24/7 roadside assistance. This no-cost coverage includes oil changes, filters, brake pads, brake discs, brake fluids and wiper blade inserts.
