Autocar is reporting that Land Rover is developing a new line of vehicles that will be focused more on-road capability and use electric powertrains. The models will still feature some sort of some off-road capability. Called Road Rover, the first model is being developed in parallel with the next-generation Jaguar XJ. Both models are expected to share the same architecture which will be made out of aluminum and have the capability of either being fitted with internal-combustion engines and electric powertrains. The model could debut as early as 2019 at the LA Auto Show. Road Rover has some history for Land Rover. Back in 1950's, the name was used for an experimental model that bridged the gap between Rover and Land Rover. Source: Autocar View full article

This vehicle is slated to come in under the XT5, and be FWD based, riding on a new version of GM's Epsilon Platform (E2xx) designated "ETUL." They also note that the next ATS will be named CT3. Correction - An earlier version of this article mentioned the CT3/ATS moving to the Epsilon platform. This is not the case. View full article

By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com April 23, 2013 CarScoops has learned from a contact of theirs some information about what to expect with the new 2014 Cadillac Escalade. The contact says the new Escalade will stick with its boxy looks on the exterior and use headlights similar to the ones used on the ELR. The back end has taillights that "run from the roof down, being thinnest closest to the roof" and similar in looks to the CTS wagon. Inside, the contact says the new Escalade will feature much higher quality materials, making it more luxurious. "The interior design is real everything. Real wood, metal, leather," the contact said. By William Maley Staff Writer - CheersandGears.com January 11, 2013 Lexus posted an interesting message on their Facebook fan page yesterday which said, "Do you remember the ‘02 IS 300 Sport Cross with its style, utility and performance? Will we bring it back? Watch the 2014 IS premiere on Facebook in 6 days to find out!" For those who don't know or have forgotten about the IS 300 Sport Cross, it was a wagon version of the first-generation IS 300 introduced 2002. So that brings up an interesting question, is Lexus planning a wagon or whatever name besides wagon with the next-generation IS? Like the message says, we'll find out next week at the Detroit Auto Show. Source: Lexus Facebook Page, CarScoop William Maley is a staff writer for Cheers & Gears.
