  1. Wow, simply amazing. 31 pages worth of posts between 5 threads entirely about the 2007 Camry, and they all pretty much say the same thing. I'm with anyone else who wants to pass a board-wide rule on no more 2007 Camry posts.
  2. Another thing that hasn't been confirmed. Honda may be developing a GT style car, front engined, RWD, that will have a V10. If that is the case, then there's an extremely good chance it will not be called an NSX. Or Honda may be developing an NSX replacement, MR, that will have a V10, and it will keep the NSX name. Or Honda may be developing both and one will get a V8 or both will get a V10, or something like that. My point is, there isn't enough hard evidence to prove any of it right now. A likely scenario would be Honda developing an NSX in Japan, while Honda Europe is simultaneously developing a GT style car for the Europe market. It makes sense since the GT style car would do the best in Europe, and the NSX style car would do the best in Japan. Then they would have the option to bring either one or both to America, once they analyze the reaction. Again, this is just speculation, who knows what they're up to. Which is exactly what it's supposed to sound like, more than just guesses. The thing is, these sites will post anything they can get their hands on and try and make it credible. Even if they're wrong, no one is going to remember an article 6 months ago. If you read the article carefully, you'll see that they word it in a way to make you think that sketch came from one of their "contacts" in europe or japan and is from Honda, but it does not actually say that. The "slideshow" may be exclusive, but the sketch isn't, I saw it on a German car mag quite a while back. The sketch may have came from the "well-connected designer in Europe" though, I'm not sure, since if you at it, you will see the influence on the front bumper from the Euro Civic Type R (the bumpers are almost identical). However, why would Honda put the same front end on their 100k+ GT car that is on their Civic? Probably because this is just a concept drawing from someone outside of Honda who is speculating as to what it may look like based on current Honda models.
  3. Honda hasn't released any other information about the car other than it will have a V10. Like I already said, there are a lot of rumors going around as to what the next car will even be. Everything else, including that sketch, is just speculation. Btw, that isn't the first time that sketch has surfaced.

  5. That drawing probably couldn't be more from what it will really look like when it comes out. It has a front end identical to the new Euro Civic Type R. That drawing has been floating around everywhere, I don't think it looks horrible for a GT style car, but it's no NSX. Remember, it's just a drawing, not even a concept car yet. There's a lot of confusion going around, people think Honda is still making a car based off of the HSC (which was scrapped, but maybe they'll do a similar body style), some think the next super car will be called an NSX and take after the Auston Martin DB9, while others think that there will be a car to go after the DB9, but it will be a Front engine RWD super car, a GT style car, and not called the NSX, and there will be a completely different car that will remain MR called the NSX and will be a competitor to the F430. All the speculation is annoying, Honda is doing a very good job keeping things under the radar, since there are literally thousands of people in Japan and Europe trying everything they can to get any information about the next super car, and so far the only real information has come straight from Honda themselves, and it simply states the next super car or GT car will have a V10 (maybe both, maybe only one while the other gets a V8, who knows).

I must have been viewing another thread about radiators when I wrote that, I thought you had said radiator and not alternator (in that case, the A/C radiator is usually attached to the coolant radiator). What year was the Accord? Did the 88 Oldsmobile get taken to a genuine GM dealer or the same Honda dealer?

  8. Chinese car manufacturers will find a way to copy every design already designed by every manufacturer. That way they don't need to spend any money on designers, not that they're lacking money, they obviously have control of their government :AH-HA_wink:

  11. Is Honda dealership service on an average more expensive than GM dealership service? Perhaps, but do you have anything to prove it other than one story from a coworker (hearsay)? Did that basic GM car have A/C? Was it taken to an equivalent GM dealership, or a non-dealer mechanic shop?
  12. More like a Supra (the new concept). If everyone else is running larger sports cars, why would they run a compact FWD car? Ha! I would like to see a domestic join Formula 1, then maybe they'd show it more often on the Speed channel (instead of nascar). Plus, they can't do much worse than where Toyota is right now
  13. The Kia Rio 5 MSRPs at $14,040, and is very similar to the Fit. If you were cross shopping those, which would you buy? The Honda which has a great resale and reputation like Polish Kris said, or the Kia, which although has a longer warranty, has the reputation that tells you you're more likely to have to use the warranty?

You aren't very good at getting your point across (comparing sub compacts to SUV's doesn't cut it) Wait, didn't you just say in the previous post that hatchbacks were more useful and what "folks really want"? Now the sedan is more appropriate? Lol. I don't suppose that old Civic HF came with side impact air bags or any of the other features the Fit comes standard with that older cars don't. Emissions and safety regulations make newer cars heavier and harder to get better mileage. There are old Civic VX's which get over 50mpg real world. They are very bare bones, 2 door hatches, and they only weigh about 2090 lbs or so. Show me the interior volume numbers. ??? So the Civic is a car that apires to be better than what it is? And it's only for people who really want an expensive car but get a Civic since they can't afford it? Damn your posts get more confusing by the minute. Ah yes! Because the only Civics you see are being driven by younger people, then that means there is definately absolutely no mature owner base what-so-ever for the new Civic.
  15. .... The Fit isn't designed to be a niche vehicle, but rather the entry level vehicle to Honda's lineup, now that the Civic has moved up some more. The Fit will definately sell a lot more than you think, but I'm not going to speculate right now. I'll just say that 10-20k cars is a very low number for any car, and is roughly what the RL sells right now at its lowest point. $13,850 MSRP is just that, a suggested dealer retail price of $13,850, plus $550 destination. Depending on your area, the window price will probably vary from $13,000 to $14,400 for the base models. Stop with the "need more horsepower!" already. These cars are just fine with their 100hp numbers. Starter luxury car???? Do you even hear yourself talk (or type, I guess)? A starter luxury car is the RSX or TSX. Despite more features, the Civic is still a Civic.

  19. The thing is, the guys flipping their Civics are driving like idiots. The cavaliers flip for no reason.... The Cobalts are new, give it time... Btw, I'm not being entirely sarcastic.
  20. But you risk developing Cavalier-syndrome by going with the Cobalt (you know, everything breaks, car flips over for no reason, etc etc). Not worth it if you ask me

    Well the "TOYOTA USES THEM TOO!" in the subtitle kinda makes me think he isn't simply saying Toyota uses incentives, but rather trying to make a point that Toyota uses them but doesn't get the negatives GM does (I don't know, maybe it's the all caps that does it ). Then there's the post above your post that kind of alludes to the same conclusion. I didn't change the subject, I was saying Toyota uses the price breaks in a different way than GM. Well I didn't check. I only know what I see on TV commercials and web advertisements. And I know I've seen plenty of Cobalt incentives advertised.

    The thing is, Toyota is using the price breaks to clear out old models, like a year-end clearance. That is completely different from offering lots of incentives or price reductions on current models. In a way, these incentives aren't bad at all. They make each individual buyer feel like they got a good deal, and not like they're getting a cheaper product (since the reductions aren't advertised, but handled on a person by person basis).
  23. Nah, just tell him the G6 is a Camry wannabe, that should strike him where it hurts! Or tell him that Honda's 3.0L V6 makes more power than his 3.9L V6. Not to mention his Auto trans is missing a gear
  24. It would be best if all the larger manufacturers were equally competative. I don't want Honda to become what GM was or Toyota is/will be. The more competition the better the end product (and the better the prices) will be for us consumers. Right now, Toyota is in a position to charge more for a car knowing that people will buy it, chances are this will get worse too. If a manufacturer is falling under, like GM, they need to figure out what their competition is doing to beat them, and do it better, rather than complaining about every other magazine article that is published, which might have some insight as to what they are doing wrong (even if it is biased). If the unions are dragging GM under, do something about it, and don't expect the media to let up, because they won't (that's their job).
  25. Yes, I was actually thinking about that after I posted above. You can think about it any way, every vehicle could have inherent sacrifices, Flybrian's post came off more like he was stating that everybody will have to make a sacrifice when buying the RL, which is incorrect. The sacrifice isn't so much inherent to the vehicle, but rather based off of each buyer's needs.
