  1. Let's just wait and see what it looks like in production trim rather than looking at a bastardized photoshop.
  2. Maybe for Toyota. Their aggressize marketting and growth, and the more common recalls that are popping up (at least when compared to older Toyota), might come around and bite them. Maybe not though, they're intellegent and know how to run business. And it definately won't happen anytime soon. Honda on the other hand, has always grown slowly and evenly. There has never really been a spike or dull period for Honda. They definately are a much more conservative company than Toyota, at least in most areas. As long as Honda doesn't become overconfident they probably will never end up like GM.
  3. The 3.5L V6 in the RL produces 256 lb/ft of TQ. This engine produces 260, is probably a little lighter and slightly more compact when being mounted transversely (like it is). I think it is a great choice for this smaller vehicle.
  4. Why? Because you can get a base model Yaris for a grand less than a base model Fit?
  5. It was a dumb move because you don't understand it?
  6. That's a pretty huge margin, I wonder where the 8.9s really came from. Edit: Btw, here is where I got that from. The drivers at Toyota must just suck if Road and Track can slaughter them in their own car
  7. Back in 1999 the Insight was originally rated to 82mpg (converted to US gallons) for the Asian markets. And some European magazines reported close to or over 100mpg (in british gallons) real world testing. By the time it got here, it was only rated to 57 combined (50/64). By the time this Toyota gets over here with extra safety and comfort features, it will probably see at best a 65mpg combined rating.
  8. The only sort of official rating I could find for 0-60 was 8.9 from www.familycar.com (who claims that's what Toyota rated it at). I also saw some 7.9s numbers posted by users, and 7.3s posted somewhere on this forum, but I couldn't find anything to back those up. With most of the extra TQ from the electric motor coming at low rpms, and only 189hp peak, I don't think the powerplant could move that heavy thing to 0-60 any faster than 8.9s. Btw, Car and Driver rated the Fit at 8.7s 0-60.
  9. That XGA article is an April fool's joke I'm almost positive, and the picture is just a photoshop of an s2000 and a gen2 Integra. The information is also inaccurate (note the date )
  10. So everyone who buys a Toyota is stupid?
  11. I don't know about you guys, but this thing looks much nicer in black. Here are some more pictures. Black on black It's still odd looking, I have a feeling it's going to look much better in person.
  12. I wish Honda would put more normal rims on their concepts, rather than these huge gunmetal lambo rims. Other than that, I think Honda did a perfect job on this vehicle. Slightly lower, completely painted now, and nice touches here and there (love the head lights). The color is great! Or at least they did a very good job with the pictures to give it a deep look. I'm a fan of black, but colors like these look really good IMO. I hope it's an actual available color and not just a concept color. I like this shot out of all of them:
  13. I for one, hate both the interior and exterior. The car looks plain (&) ugly, I would take a much classier looking Accord over it any day.
  14. As is every other vehicle, there really is no unique original style that follows a similar vehicle layout. You could look at just about any vehicle and derive various other models from it.
  15. The other vehicle you are referring to is probably the MD-X concept. That's still considerably farther from production though (they gotta lose the grille!). I like the RDX. Although if you block out of the grille and looked at it, most people would guess it was a Honda or Toyota. I think the styling isn't quite right for an Acura, it is perfect for a new CR-V though. Then again, this isn't designed as a SUV, it is probably about Matrix/Vibe size. And the power train is going to be killer once the tuner's get their hands on it. With 260TQ already on tap, I can see 300hp+ easy with a good ECM reflash/tuning or a small bump in PSI and tuning. And of course, SH-AWD, this is going to be one of the quickest mini-SUV's out there.
  16. A little bit of an exageration, but I do know what you are talking about, in both my Civic and Integra.
  17. Hmm.... of course it's ugly since it's a concept (95% of concepts are way too extreme), but I think with the usual production model downsizing (no giant grille, purple headlights, etc), I think it will be a very unique looking vehicle. Looks kind of like a mobster vehicle with its square shape, kind of reminds me of a 300C just slightly. The wrap around window look is kind of cool too, where have I seen that recently?
  18. So is the Ralliart version still FWD? And what is with these damn front bumpers? GTR: Evo: VW: Audi: And now the eclipse?
  19. I'll take all red tail lights any day. Clear looks dumb just as it did on the original Toyota Altezza.
