  1. If you look close, you can see the round bulges in the tail lights, it is definately a Chevy.
  2. You guys are rediculous. It is the front grafted onto the MDX, covered in duct tape. They weren't going for any beauty awards. The main thing they're concerned about are the grille and air inlets. The headlights probably aren't going to look like the Pilot's. Anybody who is trying to make a good judgment on the next Pilot's styling based on these photo's is
  3. The LF-A is going to be interesting. There are a few spyshots floating around and it looks well proportioned. Might actually bring some sportyness back to Toyota's completely boring linup. Knowing Toyota, they might actually give the Corvette a price-for-performance run for its money. Of course that means it'll have to share parts with the Camry, but oh well.
  4. It's funny how many people don't read. To those who guessed it was a mule, you're correct. The rest of you need to go back and read the text. It is the MDX prototype, which I'm sure there have been spy shots posted of before, but with the prototype front end of the new Pilot grafted on and the drivetrain of the new Pilot. Notice how they are towing. They are most likely hot weather testing the design of the Pilots new grille and powerplant.
  5. There's a big difference between full-time AWD and the 4wd on those vehicles. If the Ridgeline was equipped with a similar system, it would probably net another 1-2 in both city and hwy on the EPA tests. It matches the Colorado, which is good considering the Colorado weighs about 400 lbs less and is smaller. Why doesn't the Colorado get better mileage? Compare GM's own 4.3L v6's and 3.7L 5cyl in their trucks/suvs and they tend to only net another 1-2 mpg compared to the V8's. Let's compare the CR-V while we're at it. CR-V 2.4L FWD 5sp Auto 3,318lbs 23/29 Escape 2.3L FWD 4sp Auto 3,255lbs 23/26 Vue 2.2L FWD 4sp Auto 3,345lbs 22/27
  6. The title of the article is a bit much. But I think they were mainly referring to the fact that Honda has stayed out of the V8 market and large SUV/truck market, while everyone else hasn't.Honda has been an environmental company always. A lot of other makes have recently jumped on the bandwagon, and have started pumping out Hybrids in an attempt to improve their green image, while their CAFE ratings are still quite low. You guys jump on Toyota for bragging about its fuel efficient Prius while it churns out big V8 trucks. But isn't what Ford and GM doing with their little hybrid SUV's the same? Plus, does the CR-V really need a hybrid variant? It gets 23/29 as it is (with a 5sp Auto, which is standard, not a Manual).
  7. I'll keep my 06' Accord with 6sp Manual and 0-60 in less than 6sec. That is, if I had one.The front end might look Acura-ish, because it uses a more pronounced 5-point grille than the 2006 model, which Acura uses on all of its vehicles, even the RSX to some extent. But the front end on that '07 Maxima is hideous thanks to the air inlets on the bumper (which are square?? ), they look like an Accord gone wrong. The car overall doesn't look bad though, until you look at the air inlets, they just don't flow at all. The rear part of the car, when looking from the front 3/4 view, looks a lot like a Prius.
  8. Yeh I didn't think the article brought up anything really new. It just kind of summed up most of the Honda news lately. It put a very good light on Honda, which I why I wanted to see your guy's comments.I see where they dance around Honda's failures. Although I wouldn't call their Hybrids a failure by any means, they certainly didn't enter the market as well as Toyota did. Very well. Up 15% from last year, 4,345 for July. Gone. It's too small for Acura and Honda already has the Civic Si. Plenty of rumors about a TSX-sized coupe. Well considering the 5-series has 7 different trim levels (inlcluding the M5) and the RL only has one, the RL's 1,000-1,500 per month sales aren't bad when compared to the 5,000 +/- 5-series sales. I don't think Honda really concerns themselves with overtaking BMW. That's what Toyota is trying to do with Lexus.I don't see why everyone rags on Acura. They aren't the biggest. But if anybody actually compared their sales to others and take into account that they only have 5 models, they'd see that they are actually doing quite good.
  9. You guys are really gonna like this one. Is Fortune drinking the cool-aid too? :AH-HA_wink: Full Article
  10. Unfortunately all occupants are required to wear full flight suits while piloting the QQ.
  11. Did I say that? Please go back and read my post. Damn this is getting annoying. Does anybody on this forum read before they reply? Or do they just pick sides and start yelling? Mr. Ford Lightning, SRT10, and Silverado SS seem to disagree. Here's a quote directly from the Silverado SS's offical page: "Z60 High-Performance Suspension Package with lowered ride height". Yes, that was from the Silverado's page, not the Corvette.
  12. Thanks for proving my point. First of all, I wasn't arguing that Toyota is better than GM. You should re-read my post more carefully. I haven't driven a Toyota truck, so I can't comment on them. I have a 2004 GMC Sierra with a little over 20k on the clock (mostly freeway). I take very good care of it, it has never even seen past 2.5k rpms. Regular oil changes, etc. It has been towed once, been to the dealer twice for warranty issues (one of which still isn't fixed, the damn transmission shifts), and has its fair share of problems and annoyances. However, I have overloaded it on several occasions (big marine diesel engines, bed full of leaded line, etc) and it always pulls through. I wouldn't trust a Ridgeline to do the same (there I said it). I work in the marine business so I am around this every day. Like I said, this is from experience, not the Internet or hearsay. Did I say otherwise? I said they are very tough trucks, but it's the smaller mechical and electrical components that tend to fail or need a lot of maintenance. I'm sure Toyota's are the same way, I don't know (and don't care). All the guys who like to peel out of the parking lot after work seem to care about their truck's 0-60 times unloaded. I'm sure all the guys that put those f'in flowmasters and magnaflows on their trucks care about the 0-60 times as well. It seems like everywhere I go guys in their big trucks seem to think the performance is very important, and none of them ever have anything in the back.
  13. From my experience, new American trucks are tough, at least the frames, however the components and small things tend to need constant repair and maintenance (this is coming from experience, not the Internet). It's always great to be evangelical, but it is better to be realistic. American makes have a lot of experience making these products, which have remained mostly unchanged thoughout the years, but they are not without their problems. We're not talking about sports cars, we're talking about trucks, character isn't as important as what it can do. And on that note, I don't think a Toyota truck lacks any soul or character when compared to a GM truck. They are just trucks. Maybe when Ferrari and Lamborghini enter the full size truck market, we will see some character and soul, but until then, they are just appliances like a Corolla. ...unless you're talking about Japanese makes. Then the gloves come off. I disagree somewhat. 0-60 and 60-0 times are important with a full load. But acceleration numbers without a load are important as well. What percentage of the time do you have a full load vs without? If you take every person who owns a truck, and you count the minutes they spend towing/hauling vs not, I bet you will probably come up with a percentage less than 1%.
  14. The ES is a woman's car. The TL with 3.2L beats it squarely (by about a full second 0-60), I'm sure the 3.5L will rip it a new one. I always wondered why the TL always gets compared to the RWD IS350 instead of the FWD ES350, and I'm sure the TL will continue to get compared with the IS, rather than the ES. I'd expect the 3.5L sport-tuned Type S to knock a few tenths off that 0-60 time, and probably a lot more in the 1/4mi.
  15. Front's gotta go. The rest is very very nice. Edit: Looks like it is mid-engined.
  16. First of all. This isn't a "super-high performance" model. It is designed to add to an already great performing car, and merely help bridge the price and performance gap (mostly price) between the TL and RL. And no, it didn't take them 3 years to develope the engine that is in it or make the other tweaks (it is essentially a lower version of the 3.5L RL engine). They're probably releasing this trim level now to keep TL sales going strong for the rest of its model cycle. Up until now, there hasn't been a need to sell more TL's (and there still isn't really). This trim is a solid addition to the lineup and will help keep the TL selling at or above 6,000 a month until its FMC.
  17. I don't really like the wheels, and I think the car would look much better in black (silver is so boring). Overall, it looks good and I'll bet it's very fast. They revised the suspension and transmission, I'm sure torque steer isn't as bad as you would think, although still there. I'm surprised AHM did this, it's not like them at all to offer two different engine sizes on the same model. The best thing about this is it means there's a good chance of a TSX Type S coming out, even though it has already received its MMC. They could tune that K24 to put out 220hp or even 230hp. Then it would really scream.
  18. Well all the Camry's were supposed to get imported from Japan with 2.4L engines like they announced. But due to some strange conversion screw up (inches to pounds) at the Japan engine factory, they got sent with 1.0L engines instead. So I guess it is Toyota's fault. Haha, the funny thing is I know some of my friends I could tell that to and they'd believe me
  19. SE doesn't stand for Sports Edition, it stands for Slug Edition, duh. It's not Toyota's fault, they just purchased the super environmentally friendly version with a 1.0L engine.
  20. Hyundai IS going Retro. At what point did they decide to stop copying good designs and make their own? It looks like they ended up copying their old designs. That sideshot makes it look like a 4dr version of the 2000 Tiberon.
  21. I like that image, "recalls ahead"
  22. They would save so much money if they just didn't redesign cars. Think about it, it's not like this Corolla is any better looking than the 99' model, just a little more round.
  23. Funny thing is the Corvette would probably get worse mileage... :AH-HA_wink:
