  3. Hmm.. I had a chance to drive a 2004 Grand Prix GT a couple months back. I came away extremely unimpressed. Everything about the interior sucked, from the feel of everything (specially the steering wheel, ugh), to the look of it. The radio controls and center area looked like they pulled it straight out of an early 90's Pontiac, or it had received no updates since then. It was a rental and probably a base model, as it had a tape player (I think), but regardless, no car should be that bad. It also felt like it had a 4cyl, although I think they only come with a V6. A bit off topic, but if the Bonneville is anything like the Grand Prix, then I can see where the journalists would harp on it.

  5. Assuming that is from an early-mid 90's car, I think it looks very good. There are a fair amount of buttons, what do the ones above the CD player do? So magazines ripped into that for having too many buttons?

  7. Considering the MDX shown is probably the highest end version, there is a lot of stuff to squeeze into there, which require a lot of buttons that may look daunting at first. And there are probably plenty I missed, specially the more common buttons/controls. So, all this and 10 cup holders, and you guys still find a way to complain!

  9. The headlights on the Suzuki are pretty bad, and don't look at all like the MDX if you ask me: I did a quick photoshop on the driver's side headlight to show that they could look infinitely better with just a minor tweak. I can't believe the designers didn't do this:
  10. I don't really see anything wrong. It could just be the angle that's making it look wierd. Better go look at one in person once they hit dealers
  11. Looks good... until you see the "Kia" badge I wonder what possessed them to show the concept in a cream brownish color.

    21/28 for the AWD model. And the RDX won't reach that because it is a premium vehicle that weighs 500 lbs more, has a lot more electronics and features, and has an aggressive performance oriented AWD system.
  13. In what picture? This one? It looks to me like the door might not be closed all the way. The only real similarity I see is the back window curve. What is that, a Saturn SUV?

    The CX-7 will undoubtably attract a lot of buyers, but the RDX is a better package, unless you're looking for a stripped down FWD version. I was at a Mazda dealer the other day so had a chance to look them over (there was only about 40 on the lot :AH-HA_wink: ), and they are pretty plain. The funny thing is, despite the AWD CX-7 weighing in the same as the RDX (3900 lbs or so), having a similar engine, and a 6 speed transmission (versus 5 in the RDX), the RDX still outguns it by nearly a second 0-60 and 1/4 (check Edmunds' reviews of both cars). For those interested, TOV has the first dyno test of the RDX with a video. You can see the power curve of the engine, and how Acura tuned it very mildly (boost drops off significantly in the higher revs). If they put this into a sports car like Mazda did with theirs (although I would rather they stay N/A), they could easily tune it for 280hp or more.

    What is the point of this question? It's still too early to tell. What kind of mileage will the RDX get when it is driven normally, day to day, to and from work, like the majority of buyers will do?
  17. I'm surprised it isn't a cheapo hinged one, and actually a solid strut brace. Although it does look like it is made of plastic. Well the Fit in its current body style was introduced in 2002 in Europe and Japan, and just now made its way to America. So it is not a new body style by any means.
  18. I disagree. They all look awkward in their own way, but the Yaris and Fit at least look modern, and not 90's like this.

    Towing isn't an issue, as that isn't what people are buying the RDX for. How many people do you see towing a boat with their X3, CX-7, or RX for that matter? But that is beside the point.

    No mag has even done a full 10k mile or more test, how can you comment on the mileage yet? Based on one test drive where they beat on it? Give me that Tahoe and I will attempt to drive it hard (without flipping it or getting into a wreck at least) and I'll bet it is capable of mileage in the single digits, while at the same time being much slower (2 seconds slower 0-60) and incapable of turns.

    The new MDX starts at 40k and will probably come equipped at most dealers in the mid 40k range. The old MDX is undoubtably selling at MSRP or Invoice, since it is so old, while the new RDX is most likely selling above MSRP as most new cars do when they come out. The 90's called, they want you guys to stop using their phrase. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. The problem with real world results, like I've said before, is they will vary for every person and in different climates. A standardized test is the only way to compare two vehicles. Now if dealer's would let you test drive cars for 300+ miles or a couple weeks, then you could get a good idea of the mileage of each one, and do your own comparison. My own experience with various cars is that they all get above EPA rated mileage, domestic and japanese. It might just be my climate though, I am close to sea level and it's relatively cool here with little humidity.
