  1. The problem is the leasing. A lot of luxury buyers lease their luxury cars, and the RDX does not have good lease pricing right now. That is probably the single largest factor hurting its sales.
  2. It seems like all of the performance numbers are down. Were they at a significantly high altitude? They could have had a 4-door Si to make it more practical without losing any performance. They seemed to really hate the Cobalt, despite it performing well. Without the optional LSD/Recaro's, the SS would have gotten more points in the price scale, but it would have undoubtedly lost points in the performance, feature content, and personal rating scores. I'm sure the editors were looking for every way to hate the car.
  3. No vehicle is worth a damn unless it's in the media. It's called advertising. They aren't forcing anybody to buy the truck. Do you have the figures on the amount of money Honda has spent advertising the truck compared to other manufacturers and their direct competitors to the Ridgeline? Do you know if Honda has spent more on advertising than the others?
  4. But how many countless people were taken and executed under Saddam's rule? The violence may not have been out in the streets or in the media, but lots of people still died. More than now? It's hard to say.
  5. !!!!! Regardless of the ghey logo. I guess it's better than TuRD.
  6. It sure will be, or my name isn't Orville Redenbacher!
  7. It's mid-engined (or rear-engined I guess), so no need for a hood :AH-HA_wink:
  8. Enjoy it while it lasts, the '03-'07 Pilot is getting a full model change next year.
  9. Looks like there's no heat shield over the exhaust manifold. I wonder why.
  10. Hell freezes over? Let's see, they would only have to dump every single SUV and truck they make. Environmental activists need to think up realistic goals if they want to get anywhere.
  11. Has GM put the 2.4L Ecotec into any other SUV's, or just cars? An SUV will need a lower rpm powerband (torque) to move it comfortably, while a car can get away with a higher one. Lower rpm powerbands mean less torque in the high rpms, which reduces the peak HP number. The CR-V is rated at 166hp with its 2.4L. The Vue is right there. It would be interesting to see the dyno charts.
  12. The Corolla and Camry were at 15.9% and 14.0% last mid-year, so based off these numbers, they have reduced their fleet sales. The Civic and Accord are also down a couple percent from last year. I think the Korean makes may be filling in the holes, as they are ramping up production. After all, they don't seem to care about selling their cars dirt cheap. :AH-HA_wink:
  13. Who said it was full sized? CR? Sales fluctuate, the important thing to look at is the overall sales for the year. If last Dec is any indication (6,589 sold), the Ridgeline shouldn't have a problem selling 4,500 units this Dec, to make it to 50,000.
  14. Like the others have said, fleet sales make up for a fair share of both Camry and Corolla sales. Also, based on the sales reported to www.fleet-central.com for the middle of this year, Matrix sales account for about 18% of Corolla sales. So it's more like 22,152. But then again the Corolla doesn't have a coupe. Also, according to their info, assuming it is still valid being a number of months old, 12.8% of Corolla sales are to fleets. So that number will be around 19,270 total sold to retail customers. The Camry is also at 12.8% fleet sales, which puts it right at 30,000 for this month. It's still beating the Accord by 8,000 units for this month to retail customers. I'm not surprised, the Accord is old. That's like beating up your grandpa in a boxing match, and then gloating about it :AH-HA_wink:
  15. The Civic is still capacity limited, just like the Fit. I'm pretty sure they aren't doing it on purpose :AH-HA_wink: Honda recently announced they will make room for 60k more Civic's annually, starting in April, when they shift production of the Pilot out of the Alliston plant and start Civic production there as well. Of course 60k more per year still probably isn't enough, since that needs to meet the U.S. and Canada's demand. How do you think that? They planned on selling 50k per year. They exceeded that number last year, and as long as they sell 4,500 units next month, they will again this year.
  16. Only the first two sentences. :AH-HA_wink:
  17. Ha! Toyota isn't so American after all! Are all 1mil of these vehicles getting imported to the U.S. coming from Japan? Or are they coming from places like Canada, Mexico, etc? Well if it didn't go to Toyota it would probably end up going to some baseball player :AH-HA_wink: $30 mil, that's pocket change!
  18. "For the American's on-the-go McDonald's eating lifestyle!" This is pretty interesting though. I really like the front middle bucket seat design, and how it folds over into a normal arm rest/storage area.
  19. Nope. And to add to my other comment that this would fit right in over in Japan: Honda Zest Honda That's Honda Life Honda Mobilio Honda Fit And on the slightly larger side: Honda Edix Honda Stream Honda Airwave That's not even counting the 5 or 6 models of small utility vans they make. Size efficiency is very important over there, which is why there are so many van/hatch type vehicles. I don't see this Step Bus ever being made here, it's too small. It is just a design concept after all. Looks like it has a lot of space for it's small exterior size. It is MR, which is why the front is so squished.
  20. I agree with you on the indistinct looks. It isn't blasted for having a V6, but for not having a V8 option. I've never heard someone blast the AWD system. The RL would come alive if they increased the displacement to 3.7L like the MDX (tuning it to about 320hp), and gave it a tighter geared 6 speed transmission. A big problem with the current transmission is not only how many gears it has, but the fact that it is geared rather tall.
  21. Well Volkswagen doesn't need to worry about that at least.
  22. AHHH, that's horrible. The Los Angeles-based advanced design team can't design worth a damn. It's funny cause the overall shape is pretty nice, and could make a really great GT Coupe with a nice big longitudinally mounted V10. But they majorly botched the front and rear fascias. I guess I can take solace in the fact that if a production car was ever made off of this, it would be significantly normalized.
