    Gas boycott

    Or just around the corner.
  2. You're comparing camoed pre-production Accord spy shots to studio shots of the Malibu. Just wait for the press release shots of the Accord to get a good comparison.
  3. OMG. The CR-V is sooo ugly! And it doesn't come with a 500hp V6! How can it be the best selling SUV? This is impossible!! Hmm... I wonder.... Maybe it is ugly to an enthusiast, but enthusiasts aren't the ones buying these vehicles. Maybe... just maybe... its quirky design is exactly what its target buyers want. And maybe they don't care about a 269hp V6...
  4. VTech? :AH-HA_wink: You're comparing pre-production spy shots of the new Accord versus press release studio shots of the new Malibu.... Come on.
  5. Would you buy a Geely if it was stylish?
  6. I think how low it is riding on those ugly 15in wheels is really throwing off the whole look of the car. Look at the wheel gap in most of the pics, that isn't how it's going to be in the production version, no way. And the wheels themselves are very narrow and small, probably just mule rims like the ugly ones that were on the Coupe.

    New Corolla?

    the front's worse
  8. Best. Honda S2000 Infiniti G35 Coupe Acura TSX Lexus IS Acura TL Nissan 350Z Subaru WRX STI Worst. Subaru Tribeca Mitsubishi Raider Lexus SC Toyota Yaris Toyota Avalon Hyundai Accent Hyundai Elantra Kia Rio Suzuki XL7
  9. So they're just going to slap the Maxima headlights onto a G35 Sedan and call it a day, right?
  10. Just for fun, let's throw in the fleet % numbers as of mid last year. source. If you factor them in, the order would change quite a bit. January-March 2007 5-series 11,127 1.0% fleet DTS .......10,947 28.7% fleet E-class ..10,447 1.1% fleet M ............6,264 4.7% fleet GS ..........5,217 1.2% fleet STS ........4,434 5.2% fleet S80 ........3,103 29.8% fleet A6 ..........2,832 8.6% fleet RL ..........1,547 1.0% fleet S-Type ...1,065 11.8% fleet ES .....18,050 1.5% G35 ...15,323 12.8% TL ......13,704 1.0% CTS ....10,766 13.5% Passat .8,990 1.7% Zephyr .....8,098 10.1% 9-5 ......1,092 2.1% G35 drops just barely under TL. DTS drops under E-class. S80 drops under A6.
  11. That 76% might be the percentage of Toyota (not including Lexus/Scion) vehicles assembled in North America, however it does not say anything about the domestic content. The content consists of the parts that go into each vehicle. The domestic percentage includes parts sourced from the U.S. and Canada. The new Tundra and Camry have a very high percentage at 80%, however the rest of the lineup (including Lexus and Scion) bring the overall percentage of domestic content to 48% for all vehicles sold in 2006. That is compared to Honda at 60% and GM at 80%. Nissan is worse at 45%.
  12. R&T did say the TL-S was better than the G35, but not due to performance. From R&T: "The reason the Lexus and Acura beat it is the G took the middle road — the IS 350 at the performance end of the spectrum and the TL Type-S on the touring end." The TL-S is on the touring end. They commented on its "smooth ride quality" and "first-rate fit-and-finish". It also had the biggest rear passenger area. The TL-S has the slowest straight line acceleration, which is no surprise being at a 20hp disadvantage and weighing a bit more than the others.
  13. Once you've read one, they're all essentially the same.
  14. Not only does the TL-S weigh the most, but it has the lowest rated horsepower and torque. Also, both the TL-S and G35 have significantly larger interiors than the IS350. The IS350, while it does have the AT, is still porky for its size. I think the IS350 would be really nice if it went on a diet (to 3,400 lbs or so), maybe with a performance trim version, and came with a 6MT. In that case it would most definitely win the comparo. TL-S 6MT 3,559 lbs 286 hp @ 6200 rpm 256 tq @ 5000 rpm Headroom, Front 38.7 Headroom, Rear 37.2 Legroom, Front 42.8 Legroom, Rear 34.9 Shoulder Room, Front 58.3 Shoulder Room, Rear 55.7 Hip Room, Front 55.6 Hip Room, Rear 53.8 Trunk Capacity 12.5 cu ft IS350 6AT 3,527 lbs 306 hp @ 6,400 rpm 277 tq @ 4,800 rpm Headroom, Front 37.2 Headroom, Rear 36.7 Legroom, Front 43.9 Legroom, Rear 30.6 Shoulder Room, Front 54.4 Shoulder Room, Rear 52.7 Trunk Capacity 13 cu ft G35 Sedan 6MT 3,532 lbs 306 hp @ 6,800 rpm 268 tq @ 4,800 rpm Headroom, Front 39.1 Headroom, Rear 37.2 Legroom, Front 43.9 Legroom, Rear 34.7 Shoulder Room, Front 55.6 Shoulder Room, Rear 55.2 Hip Room, Front 55.1 Hip Room, Rear 53.7 Trunk Capacity 13.5 cu ft Don't you mean corner plowing, understeering, FWD cars? :AH-HA_wink:
  15. This is from a Japanese mag, so there is no English translated article floating around, at least yet. The Car Lounge has a thread with scans and a nice long discussion going already. Anyway, here are the results: 1. TL-S 6MT - 1:36:67 sec 2. IS350 - 1:38:24 3. G35 6MT - 1:38:67 4. RDX - 1:44:54 (naturally the RDX is just thrown in there for fun) The FWD car wins? Blasphemy! Most people are arguing that the TL-S is a more track-tuned car while the IS350 and G35 are the base models. The base TL would have undoubtedly finished last. However pricing wise, they are all very close, and I think it is a fair comparison.
  16. You saw a concept. They don't always have interiors (hell, some don't even have engines!). These spy shots are definitely of a prototype, one that is very close to production.
  17. While it is definitely ironic, there's no saying that the person who traded that in replaced it with a Silverado. Maybe after owning it they decided they didn't need such a big truck, and replaced it with an HHR or something.
  18. Do you have links to some more information on this?
  19. It's not that I really want one, it's just one of the only ones I would consider if I had to get another compact. I would say TSX, but that is a bit larger and too expensive for this list. My next car will undoubtedly be a TSX though. Assuming only new cars at least.
  20. If I had to buy a compact it would be a Civic Si Sedan. That's really the only one I'd consider.
  21. I don't see how they dropped the ball when sales have been averaging 50% higher than last year every month since the new model's intro over 6 months ago.
  22. Obviously you base how good a vehicle is by how big of an engine you get for the money. Maybe if the CR-V was a sports car it might be a little more important.
  23. If I didn't know any better, I would say you were talking about the Aztek!
  24. So far this year, it is the best selling SUV.
