  1. Overall sales increased, which is what matters, as flexible factories can change production to different models when needed. You're still stuck on the RL? It's been two years now of lackluster sales, I don't think anybody is calling it a success. They don't even mention it in the Acura press release. It is nice to see Acura sales on the increase. It looks like the RDX, if anything, plugged the sales hole left by the RSX.
  2. Lol. Unfortunately that isn't a record for them. Their last press release (May) had "best-ever" listed 15 times, and "all-time best-ever" listed 7 times.
  3. Pretty sure he was referring to the Aztek.
  4. Hopefully a diesel V6 will be added. The smallish V6 isn't a good engine choice for this vehicle. The same can be said about GM's 4.3L V6 available in its base model trucks. It only achieves 1-2mpg better than the 5.3L/6.0L engines.
  5. Well put. An EX-L V-6 with Nav System is going to be several steps higher in quality than the model in these spy shots.
  6. Just compared a Fusion to an Accord on Ford's website, and I thought it was funny as they listed the Bore X Stroke (in.) : Fusion: 3.50 X 3.10 Accord: 3.39 X 3.39 And it had a little "Ford Advantage" icon next to the Ford... I guess because the Ford engine is oversquare and that makes it inherently better than the square Honda engine. Sure generally oversquare engine layouts are capable of revving higher, but just looking at the bore and stroke alone only tells you one small part of the story. This is the kind of garbage that every make does... the average consumer isn't going to know what bore or stroke are, let alone how they effect the engine, they just see that Ford says their engine is Advantageous because these numbers are different from those numbers, and some people fall for it. Bleh marketing.
  7. Then why are you replying to it? I read the whole thing, but don't really care to comment on it, because all manufacturers twist the truth when it comes to comparisons. If you went to Toyota or Honda's site and ran their comparisons, you'd find plenty of omitted stats, with the advantages of each make being bolded while the disadvantages being hidden away or written in light gray. While I can't defend the Toyota, you do realize that the Honda is 5 years old and came out before the Aura, right? It doesn't need to try harder, unless the new model coming out later this year isn't as good. Arguably the Aura needs to try harder next time as it hasn't managed to hurt Camry or Accord sales.
  8. In this price range, it's more about exclusivity, image, and luxury, than head snapping muscle car acceleration.
  9. when I first saw the steering wheel I was thinking, ah crap they're going to make it all goofy like the MDX's. But after looking closer, it looks like it is quite a bit toned down compared to the MDX. I like it actually.
  10. Perhaps if the American team gets a more powerful rower, they can win.
  11. The Sebring is very cheap looking. I have seen a few in person now, and they look worse than they do in pictures. The styling is bad, and looks like something korean or chinese.
  12. I take it you missed this thread.
  13. 3 GM's, 2 Honda's, and 2 Ford's, were recognized by Ward's. Not hardly a sweep by GM as the title of this thread would suggest, lol. :AH-HA_wink: It was voted by people, not the editors, so who knows.
  14. Isn't Toyota just the all-time bestest car company evar?? They only say all-time best-ever 7 freakin times. Get over yourself Toyota.
  15. Since when has Toyota only had 2 or 3 models? They have about 27 right now (not counting hybrid versions of regular models), and have had about that many for a number of years now.
  16. Go buy a manual transmission Insight and only drive on the highway. :AH-HA_wink:
  17. The best salesmen are the ones who answer any and every question with a pre-rehearsed speech followed by an attempt to get you inside the dealership and start working up possible finance options, before you've even looked at a vehicle or sat in one. Oh yeah... those are the best.
  18. Unless you're in serious stop and go traffic, I don't see the reason for this hybrid over a normal 2.4/2.5L powered midsizer like every other make offers. As is the case with just about all short-term car reviews. However you probably won't see Reg chiming in on this one, like he seems to do with every import review that garnishes a low observed mileage rating (omgzorz, RDX only gets 13mpg when they race it around a mountain highway!).
  19. You could get a $12,000 Toyota Yaris that gets maybe 1mpg less, but seats 4, and is arguably at least a little bit safer.
  20. A death-trap that only gets 31/43 mpg, and 0-60 mph in 15.5 seconds. Uh no thanks.
  21. lol nice! ?? toioda? :AH-HA_wink:
  22. More interesting news from www.vtec.net. A video is also available at Edmunds, showing the mule going around Nurburgring.
  23. If you do analyze the pictures, you will see that it is just sheet metal that resembles an s2000 wrapped over a new sports car chassis. Notice how the hood and trunk do not have seems, and how the rear bumper is cut up for 4 exhaust pipes. Just look at the shear size of the rear tires in some of those shots. This thing has to be packing a very powerful engine, probably a V10. Also consider all the other Honda V10 buzz that has been going around. Just recently Honda announced the target mileage figures for their next V10 powered sports car. See here, and before someone tries to compare that to the Corvette's highway mileage, the figure they are going for is using the Japanese standards and more comparable to our city estimates.
