  1. Water cooling is the 90's. Now we're submerging computers completely. Get with the program! (btw, I am seriously considering doing this project for a build) Hey!!! Why not submerge the batteries in mineral oil?? ;-]
  2. It's simple math. The Fit can accommodate up to 5 people. That allows each person to have 2 drinks each. Since we're all lazy and never clean our cars out, that reduces the number of times we have to discard old soda bottles by half, thus saving time.

The point of the Fit is that it is small on the outside, yet has plenty of seating and cargo room on the inside, and gets good mileage. Sure you can get a larger car that has those standard, but then you're defeating the purpose of a sub-compact anyway. The Aveo doesn't come standard with power door or power windows. They're options and only standard on the LT sedan. Where is the 6 speed auto? The Fit has a 5 speed auto, while almost everyone else (except for Nissan and their CVT) only offers a 4 speed in their subcompacts. The front end does not look like an Aztek, lol.
  4. This is potentially very hurtful to Toyota's image. Having to suspend production on a vehicle due to an engine problem. Looks like they're rushing vehicles to production a little too fast. Looking at the chart they have in that link, it shows the Toyota Sequoia as the 2nd most recalled vehicle. Was Toyota the 2nd most recalled manufacturer overall, or just had the 2nd most recalled vehicle? Wow, a lot of Nissan's on that list.

    It's a perception problem a lot of American's have.

The interior will likely change on the U.S. model a little, as it did with the current. It's shaped very odd-like. We probably won't get navigation either, which means the center stack will look completely different. Just because a car is cheaper than its competition, doesn't automatically mean you get more for the money. The current fit comes standard with 6 airbags, ABS, Electronic brake distribution, tire pressure monitoring system, immobilizer theft-deterrent system, 160w CD audio system, A/C with filtration, power windows/door locks, and 5 speed automatic (on the automatic trim). Now go option out an Aveo or Yaris with those features and see how much it costs.

Official New Fit Pictures Photo Gallery The site is in Japanese so no real information. This is the Japanese market Fit, not sure what changes will happen when it comes over here. I see Navigation and a Panoramic sunroof in the pictures. Euro Civic design influences in the front are obvious.
  8. And only 5-6 years after the first fully EPA certified hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles became available to lease customers. But if GM can get past the cost hurdle, and actually make an electric vehicle available for sale at a reasonable price, then that will be a huge accomplishment indeed!
  9. What's the difference between the Sequoia and the Land Cruiser? Aside from $30,000 and the size of the V8? Doesn't it seem kind of redundant? Couldn't they just offer the 5.7L in the Sequoia and call it a day? A $60,000+ vehicle should be in the Lexus lineup... oh wait, there is an almost identical vehicle at a similar price in the Lexus lineup already. But I suppose they'll bump the next LX up a good 10-20 grand with the redesign. Last gen Tundra?
  10. How are you supposed to do a 180 in a FWD car with a foot e-brake??
  11. I like the 5-door a lot! The Coupe, not so much. The lines and body reminds me of the Dodge Caliber, very straight-cut and sharp. I like the Civic Coupe better than this coupe, but this 5-door looks better than the Civic sedan.
  12. I could hate GM based on past experiences, but I'm not that ignorant. Hate the media if you want to hate somebody.
  13. How can anyone count on that? You can't count on anything in the automotive world until it has already happened.
  14. I don't like the grill too much, or the way the head lights bulge. Otherwise it looks top notch. i think the front end could be refined a bit more. This is based on my own observations in person. I find a lot of people look at cars with preconceived biases.
  15. Honda's 2.2L diesel they've had in Europe for a while now is quite the opposite. They haven't brought it here yet for whatever reason, but are readying a version of it with a Urea-free catalytic converter for the U.S. market within the next year. It has gotten very positive reviews, praised for its quiet operation, torque, and mileage. 16. Oh really, this is a Ford? Wait a minute! I recognize that pig nose anywhere! You lie!
  17. They are on the road as of a week ago or so. I saw one on the freeway just last Sunday.
  18. The whole rear part of the Altima is awkward, have you seen one in person? I like the Monte Carlo better for crying out loud (and that's saying something)!
  19. I've seen the Altima coupe in person a couple times now. The side profile looks bland and reminds me of the last gen Accord coupe. The front end looks too bubbly and mainstream. The headlights work good on the sedan, but don't look nearly sporty enough for a coupe (I said this when I first saw the spy pics). The rear end looks good in pictures, but when I saw it in person, it just looked awkward. Overall I think the Accord coupe is a better looker, although I haven't seen one in person yet (only the sedan).
  20. That's just a retarded statement right there. What it means in a nutshell is that hybrids are what's selling right now, so that's the only thing Toyota is interested in. If other makes pave the way for an alternative, Toyota will wait until those makes have taken the initial risk before jumping into the fray themselves. Toyota: Following the Leader since 1937
  21. It seems as though you've already made up your mind on the subject.
  22. Full Article and Pictures Before you guys comment on the design, know that it's a mishmash of current JDM vehicles and is only a mule. What's underneath is rumored to be the global dedicated hybrid car, expected to sell 200k per year worldwide, with 100k of those in the U.S. Mileage is expected to exceed current Prius, and it will be less expensive.
