  1. I'd want an Astra in the Digitalgrun that used to be offered, or the Peacock. At least one of those colours is still availably (digitalgrun on the TwinTop) and peacock on the others. I bet you could get it!!
  2. I do as well, but I've had a long running quirky appreciation of Chrysler's minivans, and the Routan is the most attractive of the three. (meaning that I rather like minivans)
  3. I believe that's what it really is. Volkswagen claims that the Mk V was too expensive to build relative to the profitability of the Ford Focus and Opel Astra, and thus, found a way to produce the Mk VI in a less costly and complex manner. I wonder what it was that got cheapened. Edmunds claims that it feels more expensive and is quieter than ever before, so I guess I'm surprised. Perhaps the new look will grow on me.
  4. You know, the top of the centre stack reminds me slightly of the Cadillac BLS in overall shape with the subtle point at the top, and they seem to have done away with their roller switches for the heated seats, and they took away the grab handles at the bottom of the stack!
  5. *claps* Never thought of it like that before, but due to the designs of the current vehicles, I got a VW instead of a Chrysler product. (I just couldn't see myself in something as ungainly in its detailing as the Caliber).
  6. +1
  7. Mark VI Golf at Autoblog The New Golf. From Volkswagen. The New Mk VI Golf at VWVortex Enjoy! So in a way the Scirocco was a preview of the styling of the next Golf in my mind's eye. I don't really care for the way this looks the way I liked the Mk IV and V when I saw them. Perhaps I will warm to its appearance, but not yet. I bet the press release at VWVortex will sway me! This looks tackier or something. I dislike the way the tailamps' outer edges distort the cutline of that oh-so-distinctive-and-so-very Golf C-Pillar.

    Jeep gripe

Well, they had one at the Hillsdale, MI Chrysler dealership. So perhaps they are available for consumers. I was surprised!
  9. Gosh, maybe I'll now get that Astra I have been after. I doubt I will though. I think some sort of "Volkswagen" thing has gotten under my skin.
  10. I know this. However, it seemed better differentiated than the current Scirocco.
  11. Excuse me. This is NOT an SUV. It's a mini wagon/family hatch just like the Volkswagen Golf or Chrysler PT Cruiser
  12. Indeed. My Breeze (although with the silver fern interior) looked quite nice as well.
  13. Why, a manual of course. I only accept an automatic if it's midsize, large, or certain class of car. The best I have seen from the Golf's 2.5L 5 cylinder was 30.5 or about 31 miles per gallon. Of course, that was with extensive interstate travel at only 63 mph and gentle acceleration and early shifting for the rest of the tank which holds 14 gallons. With that trip, I travelled 427 miles on one tank.
  14. Looks fantastic! I love it! Still hate the name.
  15. Volkswagen Golf 2.5 Last tank of gas approximately 27miles per gallon in 75+mph Interstate travel.
  16. Indeed. VW needs more fuel efficient petrol engines, and four cylinders in particular, in the U.S. As for the Global Warming debate, I do believe that we need to do what we can to help save the environment, but more needs to be done to save the rainforests than to choke up and eliminate cars. I also feel that the climate is cyclical, and as long as a change can be eased into something gradual enough, the planet will be able to cope. However, I am sure the "end of the world" will be at man's own hands.
  17. Sad. Costs for the automaker aside, nothing shows a lack of faith in vehicle products like a shortened warranty. Or an arrogant faith, but it doesn't look good to consumers at ALL. VW used to offer only a 2year (and I am not sure of the mileage... 24,000mile?) bumper to bumper limtied warranty and I wouldn't go near that I am afraid.
  18. You know, this may sound crazy, but I was looking at the headlamps of the Scirocco, and then its profile, and to me, it almost looks like what a MK VI Golf could look like. Familiar, but more advanced in its general styling. Compared to the old Scirocco or even the Corrado, the new Scirocco isn't as coupe-like as it is Golf-like.
  19. Indeed. I was quite surprised that Ford lost so much as opposed to Chrysler which doesn't have as much going for it currently.
  20. Chrysler Posts Loss Chrysler posts big loss, but not as big as Ford's for the Last Quarter.
  21. New Volkswagen Scirocco I still think its sort of ugly overall, but it is growing on me, especially in that crazy blue colour. I think the VW badge should sit on the nose rather than hood. I do believe that would take care of my main issue.
  22. Perhaps converting Saturn to Opel would be the way to go. Considering the new Insignia's general spectacularity and respect in European mags, it would be better to have the "Ooh! It's German!" brand image and perceived quality then the "Oh My God! Are they kidding? They want HOW MUCH for a SaTuRn?!" For the argument of German quality issues and people being "aware" of it, that obviously hasn't hampered the German luxury brands, perhaps only VW. I feel that to push the cars as the finely engineered road cars they are is better than that warm and fuzzy crap. Plus, Opel's emblem is so much cooler than Saturn's. Have I mentioned the history and heritage that Adam Opel AG has over Saturn too?
  23. So what this is saying is that GM still doesn't get it and that they should just dump the Saturn brand and have German engineered and marketed Opels already?
  24. I feel that more stripper cars are needed. Reduced weight being the main advantage. Except for the part where they'd be available, there'd be less cost and complexity to the vehicles. Imagine Volkswagen's line up with some strippers in there PLUS a stripper Polo. It could do wonders. People's Car and all. Back to Camaro, yee ha! I feel that GM and Chrysler have done the best jobs resurrecting their muscle cars.
  25. Wow! I have been to Holden's website as well, and I have to say... I Love Holden's Toxic Dump Colours!
