  1. I was J/K. Take out the needless screaming and it's metal again.
  2. Those wheels are disgusting. The leather seats, on the other hand, are not too bad, aside from their wrinkled appearance.
  3. For what it's worth, I met my wife via AIM. About the biggest negative impact it's had on my life is A: I no longer live near most of my family and B: I have to drive over 300 miles to see them.
  4. Now just turn the last stanza into a chorus, add guitar, bass and drums, and the occasional screaming, and tada: emo music. Not the most empathetic thing I could have said, but I had to say it. It takes a lot of time to heal. Sooner or later you'll find that life has taken on a new rhythm, and likely, it will be better than it was before. As part of my wind down after a relationship, I wrote a song that was, in essence, the ending of Romeo and Juliet. Reading it some years later, it's absolute whiny crap.
  5. stodgy
  6. Agreed about note 1. But furthermore, the color should remain a Buick exclusive.
  7. In the opening she's wearing one of those bustline dresses that are popular these days. I dislike this type of dress. It looks like maternity wear. I would very much like for it to go out of fashion, quickly. I'm no expert on fashion, but I know what I like and don't like.
  8. There was a guy named something like STS_POS that was trolling here a while back. I believe he would be filed under the "I don't miss" section. I kinda miss BaddaBing. He wasn't fervently anti-GM, but rather had very legitimate reasons for not wanting to buy GM anymore. At any rate, posters that aren't GM fans tend to have a short stay here. That's a shame, because we get plenty of good counterpoints from the likes of Siegen, Toyoguy, BrewSwills, etc.
  9. People, with disposable income, who want to go fast without manually shifting every 1.75 seconds. And people who don't know how to drive stick, and don't want to ruin the clutch on a new $50,000+ car.
  10. Has it been four years already? Last I checked, the Cobalt made its debut in late 2004. It is now mid 2007. How does one go about deciding what a car is worth in the future?
  11. Spam text messages... A. Annoyingly alert you for what is basically a waste of data. B. Cost you money under most plans. I'd be bothered by A, but especially irate about B.
  12. Now that's pretty close. I'd take it a step further and say that the steering wheel would be similar if it were a pre-2007 Cobalt.
  13. "It's also rumoured the powertrain will include a hybrid electric to improve fuel economy, as well. " A high-price military contract vehicle like this would benefit greatly from a hybrid powertrain, especially on the field, where gas stations aren't exactly a commodity. And... 22.5" ground clearance. Damn. Are they gonna attach a step -- or at least a grab bar -- so that our military men can actually get in?
  14. I read the topic title and thought, "Wow, it's such a piece of crap that it collapsed before it even reached the crash wall." Then I opened the thread and saw business as usual.
  15. I don't think we should remove any car companies. They all have a distinct personality, even if it's subtle. Isuzu -- Well, okay, I wouldn't miss them, personally. But I happen to like Mercury. It's the only American Ford brand I would/could buy from. They're certainly looking a lot more attractive than their Ford-badged counterparts. I would very much like for Toyota to leave, but from what I hear, Hell's been keeping pretty toasty.
  16. Hmm; do you suppose I'd catch any of this on C-SPAN?
  17. My dad's been keeping his 1972 Chevy Van in the garage ever since he bought the Achieva in 2001. It runs. Interested?
  18. I see a very long and fierce pro-vs-anti domestic debate.
  19. Eh. It's a bit of a stretch. Standard four-vent layout, Cobalt has three gauges as opposed to the Chevette's four, and every gauge cluster can benefit from a cover for clear daytime viewing. There's some similarity, but there's little enough in common to call it a coincidence.
  20. Man, FOG. Sometimes, your rants are just what I need.
  21. Yeah, I've decided that's my favorite as well. I especially like that the ingredients are listed as "PEANUTS, SALT".
  22. So long, Rolls Royce Phantom. We hardly knew ye... Oh, my mistake.
  23. That'd be one hell of a trip.
  24. I'm glad there's a lot of love for American automobiles down in our nation's capital...
