  1. From the side profile, the Civic has the same bloated shape as the Prius. From all angles, it's not all that graceful. My non-enthusiast wife actually agrees with me on the styling of the car (she feels that both the Prius and the Civic are disgusting). The interior is gimmicky. I think manufacturers are overstyling cars on purpose so they can sell more new cars. Four years from now, this car will be about as popular as rainbow suspenders, whereas cars with more conservative, ergonomic interior designs (Impala, Lucerne, DTS, Cobalt) will fare better on the pre-owned market. And given the current route that middle-class America is going, coupled with the inflating prices of new cars, pre-owned cars may be the only ones we'll be able to buy.
  2. I bet it is so much easier to get in and out of the third row in older wagons where the seats are facing reverse.
  3. Spent 3 years at DeVry NY for Computer Information Systems. Graduated with a Bachelors over a year ago. Now employed as a Data Entry Specialist barely making over $10/hr. Apparently, all the programming jobs require "# years experience". I ask, how does one get said experience when all the jobs require that you already HAVE experience? <_<
  4. Very little has changed on the interior. For that much, I am grateful.
  5. Went to private school in K, 1, and 9. All other years were spent in public school.
  6. You mean you wouldn't root for the New York Steinbrenners!? For shame.
  7. That would be an awesome feature. The windows could turn 100% black whenever the doors are locked and no movement is detected in the vehicle. Such a feature could dissuade vehicle break-ins for such things as stealing radios and any loose valuables.
  8. Those bulging, squared off fender flares from the current gen are a signature Escalade design element. If they had put beefier fender flares onto this redesign, it'd be perfect. I see the new front end as an improvement. The current eggcrate is a big hunk of plastic. This one looks like GM actually spent money to build it. I love the tall, stacked headlamps better than the current ones, also. The current ones are too squared off. Cadillac has been going towards tall and narrow headlamps since the CTS. And that interior is stunning. Now, where's the granite trim we've been hearing about? B)
  9. Hmm... When those stock prices plummet, it could very well be a good time to invest if you're feeling like taking a risk.
  10. Not Eddie! NOT EDDIE! Damn, that hurts. Waiting on the cause of death.
  11. I know very little about the pre-94 Impalas. Styling aside, I'll pick the '06 as my favorite for its powerful, fuel-efficient SS engine.
  12. Croc, that's a reasonable attitude to have. I wish I could be as calm about it, but I was raised to be neurotic. Bowtie dude, the threat that they speak of is yet to come. The virus will only become dangerous if it mutates so that it can easily pass through humans. From what I've read, that can happen if the virus goes through pigs, since they can supposedly carry both avian and human diseases.
  13. Yes, I'm concerned. "1 in 3" is a statistic I've heard before, in one of those "crazy" doomsday prophecies...
  14. Well... I believe that concept was made with all-SEMA parts. It should be possible to make your own custom. ;)
  15. I have attended NYIAS every year for the past 4 years. I hope to make it this year as well.
  16. The interior isn't too bad. Looks on par with the Cobalt. Speaking of sporty compacts, when the hell is Nissan going to replace the Sentra?
  17. Pat seems a bit too overzealous for me to call him a good Christian. I'm sure there are a lot of God-loving citizens hanging onto his words like Gospel, but they need to understand that our faith was never intended to be all about doom and gloom, and assassination. It's supposed to encourage us to love and forgive. Of course, as often happens with any religion, the one guy with the warped perception gives the entire faith a bad name.
  18. Mach 1 is what, 1,000 MPH?
  19. I've always pronounced it ... well, the way they pronounce it at Encarta: http://encarta.msn.com/dictionary_/impala.html My wife pronounces it "Im-PAL-uh" and insists I'm pronouncing it wrong. Just wait til I show her that link.
  20. The 9-5 sure could use a major redesign.
  21. Hey, even in the 80s, GM photographers were horrible. :P

    HHR CONCEPT

Gotta love that grille. Straight off the 2003 SS concept!
  23. Beautiful dashboard. Is that even a GM vehicle?
  24. This image appears to be taken at a skewed angle, which might mess with the perceived stance of the car. I like it, but I want to see an official photo.
  25. Raise the rear decklid by an inch or two. That would increase cargo space by a good... 10 cu-in?
