  1. This reminds me of an SUV I saw with similarly mismatched tail lights. I think they were the same style Altima tail lights, in fact. On an Expedition.
  2. I don't hate the W-Body. My dad has had two in the past decade: a 2000 Impala and a 2002 Grand Prix. He still has the GP. I've driven both. They are good cars. Will I miss the W bodies? Only if nothing better comes out from GM to replace them. So no, probably not.
  3. An interesting observation. I can't really comment on this shooting. It shouldn't have happened, plain and simple. But it did. This just goes to show you how suddenly you can lose your life over something completely unexpected.
  4. Snopes to the rescue! Full text at http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/wormburg.asp
  5. I need more info. Are there any brands or logos aside from "Quick Find"?
  6. Screw that. Do you really, I mean REALLY want to go out with a girl that doesn't capitalize any letters or use punctuation? Seriously...
  7. Overall shape looks good. I have a feeling that enough little things will change and make the production version overall not look as good as the concept. For example, it's already been pointed out that the CHMSL moved from the decklid to inside the rear window. Did you also notice that the bumper appears to go further down in the production version? The concept bumper is far more attractive. I can't say yet whether the Malibu stands a chance against this, but if the past is any indication, the Malibu will end up being another also-ran.
  8. Some of that stuff has to be pulled via some sort of Wiki crawler. To do that by hand is not an act of boredom, but an act of masochism.
  9. Methinks you're pouring fuel on the wrong fire. This man didn't kill the director and his son because he's an illegal alien... ...He killed them because he's a drunken asshole. Now, if because of his non-citizenship we can't appropriately prosecute him, well, then you can blame him for being an illegal immigrant.
  10. A good chunk of the Bible (much of the Old Testament, which includes the creation story and the story of Noah's Ark) is actually copied from Hebrew scriptures, which predate the Roman empire. But then again, I'm no Theologist.
  11. Ah, April 1st... Where every news story reads like it came out of the Onion or the Weekly World News.
  12. Maybe, but end-generation models tend to go for a discount.
  13. Knowing a foreign language could help you out sometimes. My neighbor accidentally set her TV language to Spanish, somehow. It's been pissing her off for awhile. While I am not fluent in Spanish, I did take it for a few years in high school and have had some real-world exposure to it. I understood it well enough to navigate the TV menu to find... "Idioma". Her TV speaks English again.
  14. When I was in college it was fairly common for me to pull an all-nighter due to my mastery of the art of procrastination.
  15. I got some scratches on my windshield and passenger side window. The windshield damage is from some rock salt (or other mess) that got kicked up into the windshield well and dug in when I used the wipers. I have no idea what caused the scratching on my passenger window, but if I were to guess, it was probably some schmuck leaning against the car with something sharp scraping the window. I hate these little dings and scratches. It's nice to have a new car until reality decides to take it for a drive.
  16. I could a remark here that would probably piss off Siegen. Oh, hell, why not. *Ahem* Isn't that normal for a Civic? Sounds to me like one of two things (but I'm no expert): 1. The transmission done broketh. Honda makes good engines, but not good transmissions. 2. The car wasn't properly broken in. My dad worked as a mechanic some years ago, and a woman came in with a brand new car that wouldn't accelerate above 30 mph. He took it to the road, and sure enough it stopped accelerating at 30 mph. He floored it for awhile and finally the car broke past that mark and jumped to around 40 or 50. Apparently she drove 30 mph all the time from mile 0.
  17. I could sure go for one of them crack sandwiches. And a Monte Cristo doesn't sound like it would go as fast as a Monte Carlo...
  18. Now THAT is a Seville I would be interested in seeing, since the word on Wikipedia is that Cadillac recalled these engines to disable the cylinder deactivation.

  20. LOOK OUT! (This is the part where you protect the peaches from a team of ninjas.)
  21. Don's looking pretty good in that pic...
  22. I'm suddenly reminded of Bob and Doug McKenzie.
  23. Toro
  24. The thing about the 1980-1985 bustleback Seville is that the current resale value is in the sub-$1000 range. This car is over 20 years old and it's still not considered by common buyers as a classic... At least in terms of financial worth. Quick note for the uninitiated: I bought an 85 Seville in the summer of 2003 for $500, which I gave to my father-in-law as a gift in January 2006. Attempts to sell the car prior to that had failed.
