    MG Is Back!

The middle car looks like a cross between a Jaguar and a GTO.
  2. Bwahahaha! Is that the WalMart near Roosevelt Field? Just a wild guess; there's only a few Wallys on Long Island.
  3. They should learn from Ford, however, and wait for a full redesign before changing the name back.
  4. Hmm... A Jeep for the Scion crowd.
  5. So how do you open the back doors? Is there a latch on the front side of the door when you open the front door?
  6. Won't be long, now. But the trend will be replaced by one that is equally grotesque. And I dread to see what that is.
  7. That's not all that smart. Subtract $20,000 from that sticker and I might consider it.
  8. The difference between computers and appliances is that computer are constantly improving. Generation after generation, they are exponentially faster, smaller, and less expensive. Although basic applications are the same as before, processor-intensive operations take much less time, and we are able to do more, thanks to increasingly powerful PCs. Appliances are pretty much the same as they've always been, with the occasional neat doohickey that might entice you to by a new one. And as for music, so long as there is such a thing as nostalgia, many songs will live at least as long as the youngest person to have heard it and liked it. As for the immortality of music... Composition is what makes music memorable. No one will categorize Elvis with the likes of Bach and Beethoven. And 50 Cent is absolutely out of the question. Additionally, I'd wager that there was more popular music than what was written by the now-immortal artists of of the pre-1900s. Think tavern and street musicians. That's basically the equivalent of what we hear on the radio now.
  9. It shouldn't take all that much to build your own replica General Lee. At least not $10M worth of restoration / replication.
  10. Where'd it go? I wanna see too.
  11. Yes. Though I suppose it depends on how you feel about Alfa Romeos. The 8C is fantastic. More pics, in wallpaper form: http://www.automobilemag.com/multimedia/ph...c_competizione/
  12. Those differences also assume you know how to shift better than an automatic does.
  13. Almost forgot: Saw quite a few MKXs while down on the Island. It's the first concept in a long time that Lincoln has actually assigned to a factory.
  14. I was not aware that a Mazda CX-9 even existed, let alone that it was already released. Saw one on the road last week. Other sightings: - One Saturn Outlook thus far, hitched to the back of an RV. - Long Island loves the GMC Acadia. - Tundras are coming out of the woodworks. - Spotted my first Versa sedan. Just thought I'd mention it.
  15. Wow. I don't know why, but the "Now What?" ad campaign suddenly comes to mind.
  16. I used to have the porn addiction problem, too. If you're single, you can very well spend the time looking for real women instead. If you've had no luck in that department, I say go nuts if you need a release. If you're not single, the way to kick any habit is, every time you're about to do it, say "NO!" Then stop. Then ask yourself, "What can I do instead of doing this?" Basically, if you go ahead and do something else, it will help take your mind off of your default behavior. In my own life, I've found that addiction is the result of repeated boredom.
  17. New Stabilitrak and standard head-curtain air bags aren't basically nothing. Both are significant changes. Plus it's been 3 years since the debut. 2008 is the golden year for a MCE.
  18. All of the above. But since that option isn't available, Ford.
  19. Ever consider that during your childhood, there was an equal number of chemically imbalanced individuals that would have done the same thing as Cho? Ever consider that 25 years ago, someone would have said: I do think there is one difference in the past 25 years though: violence on TV, the violence in films and violence in comic books. And finally, did you know that no video games whatsoever were found in the kid's room? Some people are just screwed up, is all. I don't care how "perfect" society ever becomes. This will always be the case.
  20. I don't need something for long range travel. I'll just use the Cobalt if I ever travel out of town. It's the runs into town for groceries and crap that waste the most fuel (mile for mile, that is). And those would be perfect for a neighborhood electric vehicle. Or better yet, a good ol' mountain bike. Of course, convincing my wife to use a bike instead of the car will be much more difficult.
  21. Oh good, a performance Prius. The idea is as bizarre as a lowrider Nissan Stanza complete with hydraulics. I knew a guy that had two at one time.
  22. Uninsured Motorist Insurance That is among the dumbest of real terms that I've seen.
  23. That's it, I'm getting a bicycle. I figure after four or five weeks it'll pay for itself.
  24. To completely mask the brand identity, you would have to not only cover up the badges, but do what manufacturers do with prototypes and camoflage the crap out of them.
