  1. Speaking of Sequoias, one cut me off on Saturday. It had the license plate: UGL 46Y It has two numerals too many, I think.
  2. This feels like another building block for auto-pilot.
  3. Personally I'd rather just give my kid a completely different name. What a silly tradition, to pass on your first name. The whole point of a name is to get the attention of a single person when he is in a group.
  4. So Sofia has become a pawn, now. *sigh* I'd like to think that maybe you're exaggerating Marcia's behavior, but that's just wishful thinking. Why the hell wouldn't she let you work at an auto company? Did she somehow think you would pay less attention to cars if you didn't work at a dealership?
  5. So, guess how much of the propulsion is provided by battery at 100 mph... Al #2's gonna be pissed when he finds out his son's Prius has been burning more gas than a turbocharged Lamborghini.
  6. second
  7. Indeed. Remember the Golden Rule. We certainly don't want people to make the same presumptions about GM cars.
  8. Folks... Happy Birthday.
  9. I'll have to review them now that I'm well beyond my grunge phase. The only songs of theirs that I heard and liked were Zero and Bullet with Butterfly Wings. A lot of the other stuff was too mellow. But like I said, I'll have to look them over.
  10. I do not dislike the Sebring. In fact, I was checking one out some time ago because the wife wanted to look at the Dodge Caliber, so we stopped by a Mopar lot. I really like the Sebring's interior, and the exterior isn't terrible, just not contemporary. The car was definitely designed to be a convertible, though. That's the better looking version by far.
  11. Not the case. However, I like to think the young'uns are mature.
  12. Whoa, this one slipped through the cracks...
  13. Given that these three vehicles are rental queens, GM is probably sending more of them to fleet now despite fleet cuts on other models. It's either that for the Uplander, or it's the absence of other GM minivans that have brought its sales up.
  14. Cool. Welcome to (North) America! ...When you get here.
  15. If this practice became common enough, we probably wouldn't be nearly as touchy (pun at your own risk) about topless women. And if that happened, the effect would probably wear off.
  16. This'll probably turn out to be one of the wrestlers he sent "curious text messages" to. Nevermind, I read the article. Anonymous poster, no affiliation, terrible coincidence...
  17. Sounds like a good rig. Above all else, the important thing is that you can enjoy yourself on it. I helped a friend of mine build a $4000 (bleeding edge) Insaneo PC, but it is crippled by a Vista installation and pissing him off. We are now in the process of trying to get him a copy of XP Pro x64. If that's no better, back to XP Pro x86 it is.
  18. Agreed. I've seen this CUV a million times before they even built the prototype.
  19. That term is used far too loosely. Silly CR. It's a unibody platform designed specifically for large crossovers. Now, if GM actually started making large cars on Lambda, calling it a "car-based" platform might make more sense.
  20. You consider going back to TheDrewbert?
  21. Yeah, I get the same sense of jadedness regarding our candidates. This is the extent of the negativity I've read about Ron. I'm sure I'll find more dirt if I keep digging. http://www.filibustercartoons.com/archive.php?id=20070621
  22. Anybody know about this guy? I've heard lots of good things about him. He seems to be particularly popular with Internet folk. Official Ron Paul 2008 Website Honestly, I have no idea who I would vote for in the upcoming presidential election. Currently, it would probably be Paul, McCain, Giuliani, or abstain, in that order. At any rate, I can't very much trust anything the corporate media says, since that's more or less what I'm voting against. (I am aware of Lounge rule #2. I'm hoping this will spark nothing more than -- at most -- a constructive debate.)
  23. Yeah, it doesn't look like it has the extended bumpers that ther US version is supposed to get to comply with safety standards.
  24. Movie license games are the bane of hardcore gamers. They're always mediocre at best, for two reasons: 1. They are often tied very closely to the plot of the licensed film. There isn't too much flexibility to be had from following the script of the movie to a T and then throwing in some breaks for slightly relevant gameplay. Arguably the best movie license game in the past decade (aside from the Star Wars franchise, which is another monster entirely) was The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay, which not only used its own plot, but also did not suffer from the next reason. 2. The releases are tied very strictly to the release of the licensed film, often coming out the VERY SAME DAY that the movie premieres. This is what's called a "deadline", and games that are packed into a limited time frame by way of a deadline often lack significantly in quality.
  25. It doesn't look any smaller than a 3-series. Maybe if they were parked side-by-side you could tell the difference.
