Happy anniversary of the day of your termination as a womb-dweller.

Never sen that, would LOVE to. But either way one thing the car-show circuit has taught me: If there is a Phantom arm-chair car-nuts have ever thought of, someone, somewhere has done it. Like the dozens of awesome wagons wearing GTO-Judge, HEMI, Shelby Cobra & GS-X Stage III emblems and many times GUTS. Either way, the only reason why I'm driving an '84 Mercedes instead of a '37 Plymouth Bustleback or '59 Buick Electra 255 Riviera Six-widow is CO$T. And yes, I do understand that is a factor but the way I see it: $4000 solid project + $20,000 restoration on a '70 ElCamino is a better investment than: $300 project '77 ElCamino + $20,000 restoration. You know me Camino, not trying to be a jerk.

not only has a Phantom-Camino been done of EACH of those three years but it's EXACTLY what amino loves to do, phantom cars that SHOULD have existed but didn't. Another great Phantom Camino would e a '64 FULL SIZE Camino, or better yet a FULL SIZE '65 Impala fastback based one. Be still my heart.

Sad but true. If it's got a Chevy Bowtie, Ford Oval or Chrysler seal in the grill it's always sub-par. Yet not matter how many times sludge, frame rot & electrical fires occur in a Japanese car it goes unnoticed.

Everything is cyclical.

Yeah, actually WORKING for a living leaves me too tired & busy to riot. Thought if I ever DO riot it will be in Washington D.C.

Medical procedure, cardiology checkup ... done!

Best of Luck, To your health. -
Camino: Pardon me for being rude, but I just don't get your fascination with these B-rated 1970s examples of GM's first signs of decline. I can think of exactly 14 BETTER exmples of ElCaminos. 1959 1960 1961 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968 1969 1970 1971 1972

Love the styling....but the FWD mechanicals & resulting proportions just do not make me get excited. Now if this same car was built off the Zeta or Sigma chassis, it would certainly be the cat's meow!

Should the new GM start with a new name?
Sixty8panther replied to Justin Bimmer's topic in General Motors
More stupidity. Would a mane change make taxpayers bitch less about the bail-out? Would it help to stop the retard public at large from giving fellatio to Toyota salesman to be the 1st on the block to pay only $1000 over sticker for the new Priss? Would it help with legacy costs or the tension with the Union? Or would it just complicate the mess? -
You gotta love the rotary (Wenkel) motor if onnly on paper. It does not move in an awkward [sTOP_180*-turn_STOP_18*-turn...] manner. I've driven two RX-8s, both times I was merciless and enjoyed myself a LOT more than the S2000s that I've always despised... I drove a few of the Honda S2000s at length as well, what a masochistic piece of garbage.

Wait, are you saying you can actually tell the difference between the '08 & '09? The 2003-08 was restyled in the guise of the old Echo.... narrow-wheelbase with a tall & very unattractive greenhouse, being a fan of the mid 1960s GM "lower-longer-wider" school of thought that looks sexy as hell & lowers center of gravity I despise those stupid piles of garbage. Those Corollas are gross. They're awkward, too tall & bland as hell with very poor proportions, the automotive equivalent of A-cup breasts on a girl with NO personality. ALL the wrong $h! combined into one bad package of _FAIL. ---- EDIT: Blackviper just posted another great case in point of a modern GM with NO soul or common decency.

I wish Mercedes Benz had put this 4-door hardtop into production. Someday I'll make my own. (when I win the Lottery pipe-dream #1,953,246,754) It is a great photochop imho. And if that W126 awesomeness does not impress you, feast your eyes on THIS, b!tches: That's right, a FOUR DOOR, LONG DOOR STRETCH LIMO HARDTOP W126 coupe (!!!) now THAT is sex on wheels.

Never underestimate this market's love if FUGLY turd-buckets. I thought the Element, Scion xA & Ridgeline would flop.

I had a chance to buy a 1968 Firebird convertible in green with a white interior once. Here's the awesome part: 326 with column shift! Back in 2000 (actually it might have been 2001) it was for sale for $10,000 & the car had very low miles and was in excellent non-restored condition. A collector in the Worcester, MA area was near death and since he was a recluse the whole process of looking at the cars was awkwardly handled through his brother & sister. The other two I looked t that he had in his collection: 1964 REAL STUDEBAKER Avanti, gold metallic, clean as a whistle.... $12,000 iirc 1963 Corvette Split Window in champagne with a 327/4-spd $20-something he also had a bunch of crap I did not care a lick about & I thought them to be cars I'd never aspire to own: the awkward, ugly 1970s Jag. E-type ragtop 1955/6 Thunderbird (this one was rough & non-running) 1980s Jaguar XJ6

I love the X6 but I'm not in the majority on this. Honda Ridgeline is still a steaming pie of elephant turd to me. Honda Element " " " " " " " Nissan Cube Entire Scion lineup, esp. the new xB New Corolla: talk about stagnant styling. Only the Mercury G.Mq. has changed LESS in styling in the past decade. VW Routan, esp. with its "German Engineering" ads makes me HATE VolksWagen. Chrysler Sebring sedan: epic_FAIL in the styling dept. the ENTIRE Acura lineup, esp. the TL. That Buggs Bunny Teeth "grille plug" is disgusting. Honda Pilot. Not horrific from the rear but the nose is more nerdy than Steve Urkel Kia Rondo: this is called birth-control on wheels.

Honestly I'm still bitter about the half-assery of the glued in rear windows on the Camaro. But truth be told the rest of the car, and the fact that its mere existence is such a big F-U to all those people who told me I was wasting my time writing letters to GM, talking to every Chevrolet rep. at every car show & posting daisy-cutter sized tirades on several forums on the net, esp. thi one, about the NEED for a 5th gen. Camaro, esp. a retro one based on the 1st gen. (esp. the amazing 69)it all adds up to a car that has my name written all over it. I was sketching 1-st gen. retro successors to the 4th gen. Camaro & Firebird/TA since the late 1990s and I certainly believed in the idea with all my heart in an era when most people violently fought me on it. PLUS, at the end of the day, as costly and time consuming as it would be, there is the option of strengthening the c-pillar & floorpan on a 5th gen. while making the rear side windows roll down, eliminating the B-pillar& therefore making into a hardtop greenhouse which would make the car the equivalent of the 2nd coming of Christ for me.

Yeah, I agree. An H-body, 1990s, FWD LeSabre is NOT a car that my B-59 would be proud to have fathered. Saddly GM has been incapable of any real splendor or vision since the days of 455s & Cadillacs with 500 cubic inches. The occasional Grand National, ZR-1, 1LE T/A, C6-Z06 or G8-GT keep the hope alive but let's face it, the average American consumer loves horribly bland & soul-deprived $h! from the masters of deception over at Nippon Inc.

Notice any license plate ... oddities?
Sixty8panther replied to knightfan26917's topic in The Lounge
I saw a funny one the other day: it was some goofy arrangement of letters & numbers on a NH plate that spelled out "player" or [ebonics] playa' [/e] but it was on something very NOT sexy like a Honda Odyssey or maybe a Lexus RX330... or some other modern unimpressive "Japanese-one-box" $hitpile. -
I shouldn't even be considering this...
Sixty8panther replied to Camino LS6's topic in Member's Rides Showcase
cool. Waiting patiently. -
Thanks again all. Just to clarify & reiterate, thoughit prob. goes without saying, I'm not pulling some "this forum sux and I'm sick of ____ so screw you guys...." crap. I've said a few times recently that I'm sick of the negativity and that's a part of the reason I'm cutting down on internet time in general, not just C&G. By the "negative" I mean the state of our beloved GM. It breaks my heart to see this kind of vulgar betrayal of our Nations history & industrial might. We (Americans as a whole) seem to be apathetic to our kids' future & our nation's economic well being. But I never rest, and every time I run into someone who has the fire within them I talk openly about the struggle of the middle class, the vulgarity & disgusting hubris of our government & the need to exercise our right to discuss & criticize corruption & incompetence, as well as the right to bear arms and openly state the threat to punish those who betray & destroy our country from within. All those people most of blue states & liberal America likes to paint as dumb rednecks, gun-fanatic retards & loose cannons, they are far more plentiful than most think. I know several people, two of them African Americans & one a Jewish Eastern European descendant of concentration camp victims as well as many other hard working Americans be it blue collar or white collar who are fed up with this bullcrap & are ready & willing to speak out, create change & worst case even shed the blood of tyrants if need be. You know when the corruption, invasion of our personal civil liberties & whoring out of our country will stop? When instead of a golden parachute & or a senate seat, the perpetrators of the crimes against the USA will be hanging from light poles like Mussolini. Enough is enough. And with that in mind my wife & I have discussed a move to higher ground, another less corrupt & back-assed state in the union or maybe even Australia or elsewhere....? Sorry to go off on a tirade, but how many of us are not in need to vent? Massachusetts is a corrupt, disgusting $hithole of a disgrace to the 50 stars on the flag. Every fu&&ing day it's like there are two sections of the newspsper: 1. Scandals of corruption in political office & theft of taxpayers hard earned money. 2. A new & innovative way to tax us to death to cover No.1. a sin tax on candy endless increased taxation of tolls on bridges & roadways seemingly weekly increases on cigarette taxes an increase in the sales tax taxation of TELEPHONE POLE usage increased regulation in every public & private sector FREE cell phones & cars for wellfare recipients! (!?!?) serious as a heart attack! and much much more...

This week: production Camaros in the wild #4 (yellow SS) & #5 (silver ??) Also as of late: '55 Chevy Bel Air 4dr post sedan, green/white '07? Bentley Continental Coupe '35 Plymouth 4dr sedan with Tunned-Port power '34 Ford modern-interpretation hot rod & about 30 other hot rods at a local car show ranging from 1920s T-buckets to '33 Ford 3-window coupe Bonneville Salt Flats Racer look-a-likes to a 327-SBC powered '32 Ford rat rod & a '39 Chevrolet. Also: a near-clone of my beloved & now sold '68 "Mad-Max" Panther Camaro. It was in primer & looked like a work in progress with more torque than a CAT powered Peterbilt. + many, many more on the road & in people's driveways.

That is great quote. It's from the song he wrote for Sean Lennon (his Son) and I play it all the time for Amelia as I did for Sofia when she was a baby/toddler. The quote is: Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. I love a good chunk of John Lennon's music, to bad I'm not anywhere near as optimistic & youthfully pacifistic as he was. If only the dream were possible in the real world, I respect John Lennon for dreaming & hoping fora better future. Too bad that the world has gone only downhill since he was assassinated.
