  2. Thank You =)
  3. Cadillacs are all about the V8.... if not a 16 or a 12 any "exotic" Cadillac worth it's weight in salt should have at least 8 cylinders under the hood.
  4. I just got the Ecto last week. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/4535678075/ The best part is all that dumb $h! on the roof is removable, it's kind of a clip-on/off deal. With all that crap of the roof the car still looks somewhat silly with its SRX style skyroof & twin 1980s giant police light bars on the roof but it's a big improvement over the standrd ECTO look.
  5. Complete seat from a car ranges from $50 to $150 depending on the yard, what the seat is & condition. Obviously something exotic like a set of seats from a 3 year old S-class Mercedes or a BMW M5 are not in this price range but most non-exotic cars are not expensive.
  6. 1969 Caddy at 100mph....? Good times. One of my most dangerous & scary moments behind the wheel of a car was back in 2006, driving my 1964 Oldsmobile Super 88 Holiday (4-door hardtop) down Rt.2 south through Arlington, MASS at well over 100mph on 3 of its original1960s Bias-Ply tires & one 1970s Bias-Ply that apparently replaced a flat at some point. The car was quite composed & it was thrilling, esp. since all four windows were down and the wind in the face made me think I was piloting Manfred Von Richthofen's blood red Fokker Dr.1
  7. Seems like a decent little truck. The 5-speed is a major PLUS. I'd car-fax it, look it over for rust, oil leaks & such, then if all goes well and you want to buy it, walk in with about $4800 cash I drive it home.
  8. Yup.... that's where MY mind went also. "A shadowy flight into the world of a man, ...who does not exist"

  10. I'm itchin' for a big roadtrip... but lacking the cash.
  11. You want to cram a LOT of cylinders into a small package? Go Radial. I'd love to make a Rat Rod powered by a WW1 Aircraft motor, perhaps some R5 or R7 from a Fokker or Ablatros. And if I had the money I'd make a one-off INLINE 13 based on the Lycoming i8 and call it the Bakers' Dozen. I have a sketch somewhere... I'll post it someday.
  12. Sex on wheels! Most American cars made in the late 1950s have TAILfins, these Eldorados have SHARK fins. The condition of this car is stunning, and seeing those power windows drop nearly made my heart stop. <3
  13. Great minds think alike! 1st thing I thought was BMW (Chris Bengle) 7-series & Z4 roadster. That happens quite often with European, esp. German cars. The 1st Gen. Ford Focus with it's triangular theme was a car I DESPISED initially but it grew on me within a few months & now in hind sight it has aged quite well.
  14. As much as I loved my 1968 Camaro the aluminum race seat that I outsourced from a retired Porsche race car was about as comfortable as I imagine a Mig-21's cockpit to be... but then again the 5-point harness & 377 horsepower kind of made the lightly padded torture device seem a logical choice. But I digress... The most confortable seat of any car I've ever owned? I'll have to call that a toss-up between my 1997 Cadillac Seville STS & my cerrent daily driver: the 1984 Mercedes Benz 500-SEC. Although the adjustment of my Euro-Spec. Grey Market Import Mercedes W126's is not quite as intuitive or quick to adjust to perfection as the Cadillac's seat was. That being said, as much as I love Land Yachts not all big 1960s & 1970s Cadillacs' bench seats are ultra-comfortable for LONG ROADTRIPS... as far as comfort across nasty, bumpy roads or taking a nap in the car when it's stationary the 1977 Cadillac CdV "Banana Boat" was one of the best.
  15. Very cool, the styling is quite awesome.
  16. 1st thing the title made me think of was the Dave Chapelle skit called "Guy's Night Out" that spoofs modern beer commercials. I can see Satty in that scenario. LoL
  17. "Money" by Pink Floyd
  18. I took a long run across the country like Forest Gump. Thanks Camino.
  19. Do it Camino!
  20. A buddy of mine LOVES the AMC SX/4 and has almost bought one on several occasions. I used to have a red '83 in my driveway for a while that belonged to a neighbor/friend.
  21. Thank You. It was a very easy project to complete but it took me about a year to do little at a time as I gathered up all the individual pieces I needed. Most of the stuff was scrap or unused pieces from 1/48 scale planes & 1/25th scale cars. At some point I'm going to make a replica of the "Tiger Hunt V16". That will be a much more ambitious project as most of the body will have to be made from scratch.
  22. I"m not sure if I ever posted a photo of this thing on C&G. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/3872704194 http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/3871895975/in/set-72157619701012612/ Here's a comparison of a stock model compared to my "Rat Rod" hackjob. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/3549606299/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/3550448576/in/set-72157619701012612/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/cadillac_v16/3549820773/
  23. Ted Nuggent (as in CAT scratch fever)
  24. Amen! I miss your wacky sense of humor O.B.
  25. Thank You guys, your warm reception certainly gives me incentive to rejoin the forum. Speaking of "Bock's Car" I was just watching some YouTube stuff about B-29s the other day. I'll never get bored with WWII history. =) I'd love to go on a good roadtrip soon... too bad the money is not there.
