As seen in my other "Miles? Yes." thread here: http://www.cheersand...9201-miles-yes/ I finally got around to snapping better shots of my 200k (not yet...going to be a momentous time) 1996 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT, I bought a few weeks back. The red really looks great in photos. Has a few scuffs and dings that don't show up until in person, and a typical rust bubble above the one rear wheel I wish wasn't there. Tires are brand new Michelins. Wheels nice but also could be nicer if the clearcoat wasn't clouded so much. Maintained extremely well, and rides beautifully. Vroom vroom. $2100. Still needs to be registered and inspected in DE. Outside cleaned up a little more, antenna replaced, and I think transmission/differential fluid service. And the leopard print comforter the lady who owned it covered up her spilled paint and oil in the back with will be tossed out soon. Fun to drive and comfortable.

Driving past the Dodge dealer just down the street from work, spotted a new Dart that wasn't there in the morning. Sweet little car, and I like it more in person than in photos.

Stuck in traffic, with my TSX temp gauge reading 107 deg F outside...a tiny white Smart car passed me. The noteworthy moment? PA tag "2 HOT". Perfect.

Fun truck site today on the way to work. Vette central.

Nice Roadmaster, wide whitewall edition!

Looks like the answer: http://www.wdrb.com/story/18196768/3500-new-ford-escapes-damaged-by-hail I guess either never sold whatsoever, scrapped, or sold in some form as write-offs.

Fixed As much as a Lexus LS looks like an LS, something about this looked fresher and duller, while also a little higher due to the AWD. Oh well. I rarely, ever, see these. I see more new S-class, 7-series, etc. daily.

And speaking of Subies...this late 90's Impreza 2.5RS coupe. Haven't seen one of these in a long while, with the 2.5L, larger wheels, badging, etc. In Philly. And before that, a brand spanking new Lexus LS460 L AWD. You can spot a Lexus based on the paint and panel fit, but at the same time, this big "the most loaded they get" cruise ship looked so nondescript on the highway. An Equus has more character. Beautiful in a way. But plain to a fault.

New silver Subie BRZ at the dealer a few miles away. Sweet car. Very sweet. Pricetag included. Well, $1k market adjustment aside, but oh well.

Very usual occurrence. I would be proud of the Subaru salesman. The Ford guy, a little less so. I enjoy spending time with people to go over features, changes in the products, and discuss others outside of our brand. In the end, being knowledgeable and trustworthy without pushiness can pay off. BRZ. The Subie inside me wants to see and drive one badly. Oh for a dirt cheap lease and space and time to actually have more than one vehicle On another note, I had a customer last month comparing the new 2013 RDX to the new (it still wasn't out yet) 2013 Escape they had pre-brochures on and were expecting to see an early model of at their local dealer. They felt the Acura was definitely the better vehicle and liked every aspect about it, but the Ford preview marketing and (honestly) simply the fact that the Escape was narrower from mirror to mirror led them to Ford. The wife's final decision was solely based on comfort going into & out of the garage. 2 hours, a tape measure, long discussion and point to point comparos later, I didn't have a sale but I had a very happy couple who still thank me even if they didn't buy anything from me. The nice and helpful salesman who isn't always focused on pushing a sale but showing his knowledge doesn't always get the worm, but will be more successful in the long term. Knowledge is key.

All black Acura ZDX with 22" looking black wheels rolling down the street. While, of course, I was in a new white ZDX at the gas station I sold earlier in the week. Before that, an '06/08 looking Impala with all 4 wheels at wildly different cambers, rolling down the street. Looked like it had been to hell and back underneath, but not an abnormal thing for me to see in south Philly.

Interesting car. Lady I bought my '96 Legacy wagon from was selling because her brother gifted her his '00 V40 wagon. She was a Subaru fanatic but the idea of a newer free wagon enticed her. Said it was no Subaru, but the turbo power had gotten her in trouble once already. Looks, bleh. On the fix, I'd agree with OCN. Used spring and replace that and only any other small piece it may need when that strut assembly is taken apart, and call it a day. How is it functional with a broke spring? Scrap value is solid, but there's a strong Craigslist market too, especially for what I call "clean old people cars" not in need of much, and with good miles.

A brand new 2012 Mercedes ML350 SUV painted taxi yellow, and running around NYC today with appropriate signage. And I thought adjusting to the nothing but Prius/Altima/Escape taxi's was a shock. Weird.

Black Saab 9-4X cruising along. The next morning a new Saab 9-5. Such great looking and impressive cars, would be interesting to own such rarity.

Ha! No, but sounds about like a Subaru. I finally had a chance to start reading through the stacks of receipts for service the owner gave me. On every one, she left other notes about what & why. I think it may be fun to have it around for 200k+ miles, as long as I don't have to do much to it. Seems to burn a bit of oil every once in a while, but all in all, nice car. Odd driving a 4-speed automatic 4-cyl on the highway after getting so used to 5 & 6 speeds. Holy high RPM.

Wow. Some of you will be disappointed or shocked. Not a coupe. Not a racer. It's red. It's AWD. It's a 4-cylinder. It's a wagon. And? It's a Subaru. My dad is up to 2, and I always found them interesting and fun to drive, especially in winter. Cool part for me? Oddball/rare (for a 1996 model) "2.5GT" model that looks like most others except for the gold GT badge on the back, and the higher output 2.5L boxer 4 under hood. Between that, the owner who gave me stacks and stacks of stories and bills, and the utility of it, it seemed like a good buy. All mechanical maintenance and common items done. Needs a radio antenna and has a rust spot on the driver's side quarter panel. Runs strong and rides like a new car on expensive new Michelins. My goal was to find a $1000-1500 oddball ride that would run like a tank, be useful, and not need much. I paid $2k in the end, and will have something useful, even if I don't know when TO use it. Hard to find anything well maintained, solid, and as useful for $2k or less, if not a beat up old mule, or riced out Honda, etc. Vroom vroom GT. Guess I could rent it out as a U-Haul...hmm...

Ah, that's a good one. I love those. Should have. Really, hmm. That would have been a great car if I could find one cheap enough. Still, no, not close on any of the guesses except for Japanese. Any details I give will give it away immediately, if that means anything. Very unique. I just got home and saw it outside under a tree, forgot. Craigslist makes you do funny things.

Score 1, yes. 90's vintage.

Mods, please move this thread to Rides. Myself and late night clicking don't always sync.

I bought something. Can't really explain why and not sure what the heck I'll do with it or how long it will be around. Busy day. Cash. Thought I'd try that for once, and old. But shockingly well cared for. To the extent the lady I bought it from typed and printed out an emotional "car history" story about it, in addition to the stacks of service bills. She was interesting. 199,575 miles as of today, parked outside under a tree until I get in trouble for having 2 cars in my development. Vroom. Now, what the heck am I going to do with this thing. Aye.

Bright green/blue 2013 Ford Escape rolling down the street on the back of a mini car hauler, alongside a current gen Fusion. Looks interesting.

Steel blue Sky Redline Turbo. Not a huge fan of the color but love the car. All of a sudden, in addition to it being 1000 degrees out, Kappa's have popped up everywhere and I see at least 3-4 a day now (at least the number I notice). The Sky still looks so damn good... To think, I almost picked up a leftover 2009 Solstice in 2009/2010 as a spare. If only it were a Turbo, I would have and hid it somewhere...

Heated seat controls are hidden within the MyFordTouch touch screen, under a menu somewhere. No more physical button.

Silver 2012 Jeep GC SRT-8, one of our wholesalers just picked up to ride/demo and replace his Land Rover LR4. I want one. Roar.
