  1. The HD's do look great, and it is a proven design. I think they are a bit too much truck, though, unless you really use them. The fuel alone will use more, with the 6.0L and that extra HD weight. The look is great, colors included. Ever drive a new 2500HD like these, Roger? Seems I don't see as many 2500HD's anymore, or less and less of them.
  2. They enjoyed it and really did some research, after telling me about "The 6-cylinder is so much different than the standard one. We drove several and that's why we bought this one", but at the end of the day they missed having a bigger SUV, after their '99 Lexus RX300 with a ton of miles. Subaru was a good try, but didn't click for them. It has now been sold and is residing out of state somewhere, new home and a good deal vs. brand new.
  3. Looks good. Very red.
  4. Cool car, especially with the Road & Track package. Congrats.
  5. New temp tagged Lincoln MKZ in traffic this morning. Very young driver. They look...something...to me, in person. Then Wednesday, an FJ Cruiser convertible on Main St here by home. Odd?
  6. Craziest one I've seen in a while...at least for me. Yesterday afternoon, around the corner from our dealership, I saw a strange new silver Cadillac XTS approaching me quickly and then realized it was an all new XTS hearse. Silver, black back roof. Looked HUGE and extended upon extended, but the XTS body lines were incredible. Much more cohesive and modern than even something like a DTS, Town Car, before. Very, very cool. The trunk brake light/lines converted into a back door were very nicely shaped as well. Fascinating car to see in person, moving fast. Must be a local funeral home that just purchased.
  7. Slow and steady and way out of the way of my mother. Stays in his own little garage everyday. Now, how long it will take for this thing to be driveable...not sure. I know he bought newer bucket seats, etc. and has been piece meal gathering parts. Interesting to hear about. It does run, but the last time I saw him drive it he was sitting on a crate mounted to the floor to do so.
  8. Just received this from my brother. Looks like it's coming along...but holy work time. It's been a few years now. Not sure where the back window went. He's thinking paint the car white, but not sure.
  9. Test mule. Cool.
  10. The latest new Mitsu Outlander, out and about. Still kinda eh. But a first sighting for me.
  11. Very cool car. I see a lot of these, and after telling my mother in a couple of years when there's an all new Terrain there will be a Buick version too, she saw an Encore commercial and "I saw it, and really like it!". Probably a bit too small and the 4-cyl would not work for her, but perfect fit for most others. They look cool. Carbon black especially. Very nice car.
  12. In this car with full power and heated leather, I was comfortable. I wouldn't describe them as either too flat or overly bolstered. In between. When adjusted, they were supportive enough and comfortable, and the right mix of soft/firm with a good headrest. Sometimes I can't get comfortable in certain cars. This is not one of them. It feels big when you get in, so you have to coordinate yourself and the seat in the space, but then it's good to go.
  13. The space in this car is incredible, and that height plus the wagon body style that give it the looks make it a living room inside. There will always be those semi cheap semi "is it from 10 years ago?" styling choices on places like the center stack/audio inside, always making it Subaru, but in real life it's not objectionable. The USB interface, Bluetooth, etc. all work like anything else does. Driving the car back to work again this morning I was again most impressed by just the refinement of it all. Quiet, powerful, unique 6-cyl roar, and in all my driving home this weekend, around for shopping, and back again, that gas gauge didn't move much. Reminded me again also why my 1996 was so cool, and why when my mother was considering an AWD crossover, and liked dad's old Legacy herself, I recommended a 3.6L Outback. She objected, but I think if given seat time, would go for it. Nice car. Now to sell it
  14. Checked out some freshly arrived 2014 Camaro V6's at a local dealer. First up a 2LT RS, and then a base (or 1LT, not sure), without RS. Interesting to see some other small differences like the thin chrome trim (looks GREAT) across the front end on the RS, in addition to the spoiler and halo lights. I go back and forth on the new taillights, but the car looks newer and I like the look in person. Great look. Nice lights and details.
  15. A few weeks back, I took a still in the wrapper 2013 Subaru Outback 3.6 Limited in on trade, with just over 2900 miles. The clients had owned a 1999 Lexus RX300 for many years and many miles, and then decided after a few trials to get the Outback and specifically with the 3.6L engine "it has a lot more power, and is a lot nicer to drive" they said. But it didn't click. They have a lot of friends with Acura MDX's that sing the praises, and decided after driving one to trade it in again on the all new 2014 Acura MDX. So we now have the Outback for sale, with 3000 miles. It's an interesting package, as it has heated leather seats and the nicer audio, but a manual dimming mirror, no sunroof and no backup camera. New to the point the all season floor mats are still in a bag in the back of the car, and not a mark anywhere in sight. I took it home this weekend to try it out, as I'm a Subie fan and have never driven a 2010+ model. This is the 2013 with some revisions, and after a day, I'm very impressed with the drive. It's very tight to drive and feels SOLID everywhere. The doors have a nice sound too, versus other Subaru's I've been in and some other cars. The height is nice for head room and it's easy to get in and out of. After some fiddling, very comfortable front seats too, and good visibility. More impressive is the drive. It's a wagon with a raised suspension but feels very solid and tight on the road, but takes bumps like nothing thanks to the large sidewalls and higher suspension. Very firm and weighted steering also. This particular car has Continental tires and doesn't have much of any road noise either. Most important, the 3.6L boxer is everything I expected. Feels like a Subie, if that makes sense, but in a very slick, high end roarty way with torque all over, and a responsive transmission. You feel the car gripping all over, and the 3.6L makes nice thick sounds and moves hard when pushed. Very enjoyable to drive and after having the 3.6L, I don't know if I could make due with the much more common 2.5L/CVT most of these are. Overall too, the car does not feel as large as it looks. Looking behind me, from back seat to the cargo area, it almost seems like a more voluminous car than something like an RDX or Terrain/Equinox I'm used to, which is a good thing. Verdict. Great to get to drive this over the weekend, and I see why they continue to be so popular. The 3.6L is the one to get if you don't already like the 2.5L versions, and I've enjoyed my weekend with it. I would buy one, after having tried this one.
  16. In 2 days, saw 3 brand new Nissan NV200's. They do look like a cool little slab sided utility van with some length zipping around. The latest I actually got a picture of was a black one on 76 here in Philly: I've already seen more of these than the bigger NV's in a while. May be a popular size.
  17. My parents have water cooler bottled water delivered every few weeks. He pulls in the driveway in a Econoline cargo van, picks up empties, drops new off and backs back out the driveway. At the same time he was backing up & out to the street a bit too quickly from behind the house (cargo van, no windows doesn't help), dad had just turned in the driveway with the 5-speed 2000 Legacy wagon. He saw the van coming but the van was backing too fast for him to get switched into reverse and back out...crunch. The van rode over the front bumper, radiator, etc. area and pushed the hood back. Interesting phone call. "Your dad was in an accident...in the driveway". Signature updates...yes...way way behind...
  18. I honestly have no idea what he does with this truck...it does look very nice and very well kept, but I think he drives it once a week if that. Time to update signature. The 1996 Subaru is out of commission thanks to warpage/head gaskets. The 2000 Legacy was totaled when a water delivery guy backed over it in the driveway with an Econoline. And the latest is some sort of old 80's Toyota Corolla station wagon...completely random.
  19. Hmm. The dealer was Ferraro Buick-Cadillac in Springfield, PA. Not sure when it closed. I just don't understand why the classic light up brand signs got to stay...or why they haven't been scarfed up. Usually that doesn't happen. This place just looks like they left and that was it, after the cars were gone, no one touched. Strange. Wednesday I saw a Buick-GMC-Cadillac store in Milford, DE torn down flat, that used to be in existence until recently. Now spot will be another new drug store. Even before, though, the signage was gone when the dealer ended. They are usually leased items, at least the tall standing signs out front. The letters on the building are usually not, and kept separate.
  20. Out driving last Sunday, a closed down Buick-Cadillac dealer not far from Philly. I forgot about this place. Strange because it's like a time capsule, with the signs and everything still up (good for a collector...) just no cars and lots of dust: Then not far from there, a topper. A topper in the way of a gold Pontiac G6 with brown cloth top. How classy.
  21. Another White Diamond fully decked out LTZ Impala last night on the road, red light. Looker.
  22. Oh, and an Encore from NY, earlier.
  23. Driving this afternoon in Wilmington, DE, back towards Philly, a black Colorado crew cab with the factory "V8" emblem on the fender. May be the first time I've seen one of these 5.3L mini's in person, or rolling.
  24. This morning, a black 2012 Regal GS like mine with standard 19" wheels from out of state cruising along...but all the chrome and silver trim on the body also blacked out. All of it. Kind of odd. I understand this look, but it ends up looking a bit odd as well. Wheels were still silver. Nice to see how admirable another GS is still on the road.
