  1. You probably read something along the lines "Disolving Pontiac, Buick, GMC or Cadillac is almost as unlikely as disolving Lexus"

I'm sorry to hear that :( It's funny, when you feel you know someone, they show you that you didn't know them at all.

    Acura RSX

I am, but when I bought my RSX my boyfriend had a F-150 and we logically figured that there was no need for me to have a truck as well, so I bought a car. He left, so I have an RSX, no bf and no truck. :(
  8. You cannot expect someone to take a hit that large tho. I mean $15 would be a cut in half. $9 would be insane.

    Acura RSX

Tell me about it, for the price they are amazing. That could blow the doors off the RSX. I was actually thinking of a Canyon, but once the issues with the care are dealt with maybe it'll be ok. I still have 3 years full warranty..... Then again, Canyons handle so well, and they are very nice.

^ I don't think it would qualify, it's not good, but I believe a Lemon would be far worst.
  11. What ever happened to Wooden wheels?

    Acura RSX

Considering that GM has been bashed for all too long. I have my own issues with a Honda (Acura) product. Well, I have a 2005 Acura RSX with 10,000 KMs on it (6,000 mi). I have been having annoying problems since day 1. After my first highway trip in the thing I started to get a strange noise out of the front end while turning the wheel. Well, I brought the car in and they told me it was a strut mount. So a few weeks later when the part came in, it was replaced. The noise disappeared for a week. So, I go back again, and they tell me it is the strut. So I wait 6 weeks for the part to come in. They replace that. Guess what, the noise went away, until my trip to Banff. Now I have the same noise comming out of the passenger side. They tell me that they will replace the right strut mount when the part comes in. ( I told them they should replace the strut and mount so it saves me a trip in the future, but they have to follow procedure). Now my brakes make an assuring clunk when I put them on. (sounds like the pads are loose in their mount). The guys at Acura tell me it's normal. I told the service guy: "What is normal for an Acura is not normal for any other car I owned". This is music to the ears of many GM fans, it is also more than enough fuel to get me back into a GM.

  15. That's really how Toyota started. Didn't they start off by reverse engineering a chevy?
  16. New plant to employ 1,300 team members; manufacture the RAV4 (100,000 units/year) WOODSTOCK, Ontario (June 30, 2005) – Toyota (NYSE: TM) announced today that it will construct a new plant here employing 1,300 team members to build the RAV4 sport utility vehicle. The new plant represents an approximate C$800 million/US$650 million investment and will be Toyota's second Canadian assembly plant. It is the first green field automotive assembly facility in Canada in almost 20 years. Additionally, Toyota announced an expansion of Canadian Autoparts Toyota, Inc. (CAPTIN) in Delta, British Columbia. As a result of the C$39.0 million/US$31.6 million expansion, wheel capacity at the facility will increase by nearly 17 percent per year, starting in July 2007. The new plant will open in 2008 and will have the capacity to build 100,000 units annually. Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Canada, Inc. (TMMC) in nearby Cambridge, Ontario, will manage the plant. TMMC builds the Toyota Corolla and Matrix and the Lexus RX330 in Cambridge, where it employs 4,300 team members. This new facility will boost Toyota's manufacturing employment in Ontario to about 5,600. Katsuaki Watanabe, named president of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) on June 23, discussed the new investment via videotape broadcast during the announcement. "Twenty years ago, Toyota management made two profound decisions. We decided to make a sweeping commitment to manufacturing in North America. And we decided that Canada would be a core part of that commitment," he said. "This expansion will strengthen our ties further with suppliers and with other partners across North America." Atsushi Niimi, the recent former president of Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America (TMMNA) and now a senior managing director of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), noted the benefits of the Woodstock location. "This location allows us to capitalize on our outstanding operation 40 kilometres away in Cambridge. Its proximity to suppliers on both sides of the border will benefit both countries and it will mean new opportunities for those suppliers. Jobs will be created across North America," he said. TMMC president Ray Tanguay, recently named a TMC managing officer, applauded the efforts and success of the existing Canadian work force and the job creation efforts of government officials. "Today's announcement is truly a milestone," he said. "It is recognition of almost 17 years of manufacturing success in Cambridge, Ontario and opens the page to a whole new chapter for Toyota in Canada. As a Toyota team member, I am obviously pleased. As a Canadian, I can't think of a better way to kick off a national holiday." TMMC has been manufacturing vehicles in Cambridge since November 1988. Original capacity was 50,000 units annually. By 2004, production had climbed to 288,000 units. By 2008, Toyota will have the annual capacity to build 1.76 million cars and trucks, 1.44 million engines, and 600,000 automatic transmissions in North America. The company's direct employment is 37,000 and direct investment is nearly US$16.6 billion with annual purchasing of parts, materials, goods and services from North American suppliers totaling nearly US$25 billion. Toyota's North American-produced vehicles include the Avalon, Camry, Corolla, Matrix, Sienna, Solara, Sequoia, Tacoma, Tundra, and the Lexus RX330.
  17. Holy hell, here we go again. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. Is there going to be enough to go around? There is no doubt that these cars are below par in reliability and build quality but in time they will be the next Toyota. Will they be in Canada, or just the US?
  18. The worst part of what you are going through is that there is no way that the people around you will understand how you feel. The best to hope for is that they understand that you are no different than before. (Some guys think that once you tell them, you automatically want to get in their pants  ) The Hardest thing I had to deal with was admitting it to myself. Once that was dealt with, I really didn't care. I still don't tell people unless I feel they should know. Some people define themselves by their sexuality. I don't feel that way at all. I feel it is just a part of me, a part I only share with people who feel the same. (Unless you ask, I will not lie) Otherwise you would see me as a Hockey loving, moose eating, beer drinking Cannuck. I have been silent here but I do feel for ya. You have admitted it to the person who matters the most, yourself! Things wil get better. In a matter of time you could find a sugar daddy that will buy you a mint Fiero. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. You cannot Grieve an agreement, but you can grieve a for someone doing the wrong thing. Nobody will work for $9/hr that is at delphi now, they would rather strike until the company is done. You can make that wage flipping burgers at McDonalds. No way should Delphi workers have to work for less than $15/hr.
  20. HELL YEAH! I want a Caprice now :AH-HA_wink:
  21. I like Taller than me, but only a little! Toned and Dark hair, medium length. Shoulder length hair is a little scary. Tom Welling would do me fine ;)
  22. A newscast from Detriot doesn't even go on the offence? My god! Nobody cares, nobody really cares at all!
  23. May not fit fully, but Toyota stands for Arrogant. The Toyota perception is ridiculus, I was at Northgate GM here yesterday and there was a guy looking at cars. He owned a 2002 Buick Century. He was telling me that he was at the Toyota dealer next door and sat in a 2006 Camry. The samesman came out telling him that the Camry was such and such. Then he asked what he drove. The Toyota salesman told him "Well the Camry is twice the car the Century is". The guy took a Camry out for a test drive. He said that the car was quiet, and other than the lack of power drove very similar to his 3 year old car. He went on to tell me that he was unimpressed by the Camry considering that it is always considered to be on top.
  24. Ok, if Micheal Moore was a smart man, and if people in the Press were smart they would be promoting GM to save these jobs. This is an issue of supply and demand. If we bring sales up at GM we save homeland jobs. Stop bashing GM and start promoing it. >>> SAVE OUR JOBS, BUY A GM<<<
  25. Interior design alone it blows the Civic away. You sit in a Mazda3 and you think it is expensive. Sit in a civic, you feel like you are in a cheap car. A car that thinks it is a 2003 Aerio, (last car cheap car I know to have a digital speedo). Cockpit styling my ass!
