  1. Oh please...I think all things considered only an idiot would assume that Toyota growing in the country is a net gain economically.
  2. As GM fans know...heavy incentives can only help so much with a crappy product.
  3. I believe the 227hp for the 3.9L is only the Convertible. It's 240 in the sedan and coupe.
  4. Aww...don't worry, I'm sure Toyota would have no problem selling everyone of them even if they were priced as high as 30K.
  5. Attn: Scion division Stop letting your designers drink on the job!! Thank You
  6. Yep...and it will probably start at 25K and still be slower than every 4 cyl car.
  7. Doubtful At least not without a gigantic price increase.
  8. Lexus sure does know marketing/customer service. I wish GM/Caddy would take a note of this. Then again I've never heard anything good about customer service at regular Toyota dealerships...so maybe GM shouldn't take note there.
  9. I can't believe people still buy those things.
  10. Definitely...I was suprised at how crappy the original VUE interior was...I didn't know why people bought it. I was shocked how nice the interior was when I sat in it at the auto show.
  11. I'm guessing you've probably never driven or possibly even sat in a Cobalt. Just regurgitating what you've read. Probably basing your entire opinion of the cobalt on the cavalier. I'm sorry...I don't even like the Mazda3 but it is head and shoulders above the Civic in pretty much every category (ok I don't know size dimensions off the top of my head) If there was a "premium" compact it would be the Mazda.
  12. It's funny because I feel the same way...except the opposite. There was no element of the civic that screamed "quality" or "premium" To be honest I could give a rat's ass about how the top of the dashboard feels...or any other part of the interior that I'll never touch feels. Every 15-20K subcompact has cheap plastic...it just comes with the pricetag. I really don't why the civic/cobalt comparison always get brought up...but the simple fact is they are both competent cars in the class. Is the civic worth the 2-3K premium? I guess thats up to each person.
  13. The VUE wasn't very good when it first came out but the refresh they gave it a year or so ago did wonders. The exterior is attractive and the interior is much improved.
  14. Looks good. This might actually be the SUV that makes buying an SUV hybrid worthwhile. The Toyota and Ford hybrids have been overpriced for any savings you get. I'm more curious to see what this system in the Malibu is priced.
  15. Yep...although at least with some GM cars I know GM didn't do everything possible to inflate the MPG..like my Cobalt for example.
  16. The cobalt is at least a full step forward. The civic is better in some ways (more power, better fuel economy) but worse in some ways (awful interior design, questionable exterior design, less cargo room than previous gen.) The civic isn't as much of a step forward as a step to the side. IMO anybody that really pays a premium for the civic isn't very bright...if you want a premium compact..buy a Mazda3.
  17. Still looks like japanese generic to me...then again I don't really care for the Aura either and they look somewhat similar.
  18. MPG is set by the EPA...however I wouldn't be surprised is companies like Toyota figured out a way to make their cars do really good on EPA tests..yet not in the real world.
  19. My dad's 1996 Jeep Cherokee when I was 15 and had my permit.
  20. It was just ramping up last year...and the coupe wasn't out. Some of the "reader comments" are pretty funny.
  21. Florida drivers pretty much suck...especially with all the old people.
  22. I have...and its all black plastic...still cheap but much nicer than the Yaris....which it should be. The yaris is too expensive, has that lame center speedo still and as mentioned (at least in the 3 door) has a nasty cheap interior. Tapping on the dashboard and having it feel like the dashboard is hollow doesn't exactly give feelings of quality.

    H3 vs. FJ

So what exactly about the interior in the FJ makes it equal to the H3? The FJ has a nasty styled rental grade interior but it gets a pass because its more "utilitarian"? The entire dash in the FJ looked like one big glob of cheap black plastic that some drunk assembly line person painted a few spots with bright paints. Also the H3 is available with a NAV system...maybe they should check their facts.
  24. What exactly is stylish about a sea of cheap black plastic?
  25. Wow...a journalist finally said it...took em long enough.
