  1. Exactly...and you have plenty of choice available. I don't want a subcompact either...doesn't mean some people do.
  2. Not every american wants a big vehicle. I personally hate big cars...anything bigger than a midsize car. I'd never buy a truck or SUV.
  3. It's a public company...they can give their execs whatever bonuses they want. Not that I agree with it when they are laying off people but theres nothing illegal about it.
  4. Still Ugly
  5. Interior is nice. Exterior...uh...did I mention the interior is nice?
  6. It can be done...ditch the 2.2L in the Pontiac version and give it some more equipment. It would be nice if it was a Pontiac exclusive feature like HUD but they don't seem to use it as much as I wish they would.
  7. 4 versions of the same minivan made no sense. While they are at it they should axe the Saturn version too.
  8. It's ok...nothing spectacular. I prefer the normal two-tone interior. I actually really like the G6 interior...its mostly love it or hate it. Probably my favorite midsize interior.
  9. Duh...its the number one selling car in the country...who hasn't driven one would be more appropriate...and yes it is anemic....at best merely adequate.
  10. Yep...if someone is going to complain about GM uses "older technology" in their cars then I'm going to say that Toyota uses significant amount of mainstream parts in their Luxury cars.
  11. Yea thats true. Where I live in southwest Chicago has ridiculously high living costs....some of the highest in the country. Decent jobs are hard to come by here. Everyone I know is either still living at home or has moved away to find a better job opportunity. Thankfully I'm getting out of here...I can't stand the midwest anymore. My brother lives down in southwest Florida and he said I should come down there so I am.
  12. No doubt....but GM would catch hell if the LS4 was the base engine in the CTS....therefore Lexus should be subjected to the same. Neither engine is anything exciting or groundbreaking. Is the Toyota one newer? Yes. Does it mean its automatically better? Absolutely not.
  13. The Trailblazer and Saab do....Tahoe and Escalade do not....and we are talking cars here...not trucks....but if you want to go the truck route...LX470/Landcruiser, 4Runner/GX470, Highlander/RX330.
  14. I'm not going to argue the merits of paying college now versus later...that isn't the point of the article. The point is those that choose to pay it later under the assumption that they can get a decent job after they graduate are not being able to do that...hence why more and more people are living at home later. The point of the article is that it is becoming increasing difficult to get ahead for people in my generation due to the mentioned factors...low wages, increasing costs...etc. Optimistically the best starting wage you are gonna get is about 30K a year...and that is optimistic. After taxes we are looking 1800-1900 per month. Now lets look at some of the expenses of living on your own. Rent: 700 a month Utilities: 200 a month (more like 250 if you use a cell phone as the main line) Food: 100 a month Car Insurance: 100 a month Renters Insurance: 50 a month Health/Dental: 200 a month So at the very best you have what...500 a month to spend on discretionary income. This assumes you have no student loans, you car is in decent shape and fully paid off..and even then these costs are low-ball estimates.
  15. The difference being that both are nice Luxury cars...the Camry is a dull plebian mass market sedan.
  16. Not everyone wants to work their entire college life. Most people want to enjoy it...thats why they take out student loans to pay off later when the presumably get a better job. It isn't just about the education...its about the experience...nobody should have to look back at their college life and think of just working all the time.
  17. Honda beat Toyota to hybrids though...so not really.
  18. Whoever wrote this article is dead on. I'm getting sick of articles dismissing my generation as "lazy" because we aren't out of the house right after college graduation. The simple fact is that while the economy is certainly weak...it hits my generation especially hard. Wages have stagnated, the job market is bleak, costs of basic living essentials have risen substantially....the list goes on and on.
  19. Yep. If you are a murderer...you deserve to die. I think life in prison is actually a harsher sentence though.
  20. Drawing a blank here....uh...thats not really Toyota's "thing".
  21. So a poorly designed dash is just something to "get used to". I wonder what you would say if it was a GM car.
  22. So the 3.5L V6 is suddenly special? Is it not based on the old 3.0L that has been used in the Camry forever? Until the 2006 Avalon....Toyota did not have a competitive V6.
  23. I honestly don't predict any increased sales for the new Tundra. They may even lose a few sales to more conservatives trucks since they are going to "macho". I'm curious to see what all the "Toyota is so green" hybrid people have to say when they see this monstrocity.
  24. Normal people don't want to spend 35+K on a car that shares the same engine/transmission as a 25K Camry.
  25. Big brother? Seriously...I can't even imagine Bush having something like this. It would be the end of freedom in this country.
