  1. Thanks!! It should be here within hours!! I haven't eaten or slept. I'm running on nervous energy. I'll try to get some pics up tonight.
  2. Well, don't hate me, I'll foever be a GM girl, but last night I traded the Avalanche for an '08 350z Touring. I don't have any pics yet, I'll post them soon. They are delivering it to me today, after the tint, detail, etc. I'm so excited, I needed a toy. I was going to buy an old Cutlass and build her, but this is way easier, and sexy as hell!!
  3. Yeah the Cutty has the metric 200, I went through 3 before I got sick of it. I put a really old TH400 in it and solved all problems other than the 20% of the laughable 140 horses is stole. But that old 400 is bullet proof. The poor old Cuttys got sh!t trannys, and rear ends.
  4. Bunch of people at work, one guy had to go to the hospital. Hubby's getting it I think, not too bad yet. Waiting on my turn now, I had avoided it so far but now that he has it, I'm done for.
  5. Whe I do actually get off the laptop long enough to watch tv, it's almost always ScienceHD, or NatGeoHD, or DiscoveryHD. I'm a geek I know. But I do DVR, CSI-Las Vegas, Jericho, Medium and Without a Trace. I love them all and have watched them from the beginning. We also love Dirty Jobs, Mike Rowe rocks!!! Mythbusters of course, who doesn't love those guys, but I have to say, I do not like the new long hair this season, he looks much better with his hair short.
  6. No it isn't easy to work on, the 80's were a horrible time for cars. Too much smog and vacuum and crap. If you yank all that crap and make it like it's a 60's car, like I did to all mine, it's amazing the difference, even with smogger heads. She's suffocated and bogged down. They're such beautiful cars, they have style. It's not all plastic cookie cutter like the new ones. I'm anxious to see 20 years from now how these new plastic super computer controlled cars are doing compared to Detroit steel.
  7. It would be the greatest day of my life next to having my son. I will start looking, I've got a cop buddy, maybe he can find it somehow with the VIN, I think I still have it memorized.
  8. Yeah, I guess I've been without a builder so long, I forgot about all the new ways. I'm used to hunting down parts cars and combing salvages.
  9. Ok, one more and then I'm done I swear. LOL I'm a new mommy, he's only 8 months old. I'm a little obsessed. A picture from our nightly peanut butter ritual, once in a lifetime shot.
  10. I suppose you're right. But, I'll have to live with a pretty jacked interior for a long while. Guess I'm gonna have to put all my buddies on the lookout for her.
  11. She's beautiful, and it'll get easier. My cocker is the same way. He's terrified of everything, he won't even go outside to potty unless you go with him and he's terrified the whole time.
  12. Nice. Big dogs. Ok well here's my babies... Newman-Cocker Spaniel(father of Junior) Junior-Cocker Boston mix Barney-Russian Blue cat Betty-Siamese mix cat Georgianna Marie-tabby cat
  13. I know we're all car nuts, but what about all your pets? I don't know about you guys but I'm as crazy about them as my cars. Maybe some pics, and/or a list of what you have?
  14. This one was worth owning, especially after the install of the 455 out of a '68 W-30.
  15. Because from what I've heard from those who have spied it, it's too far gone. These G-bodies are so hard to find good interior parts for. I have thought about it believe me. The day I got her. About 4 years before I sold her.
  16. The mid 80's G-body Cutlass is easy enough to improve power on. Here we don't have inspections so... mechanical quad, true duals, no smog pump, vacuum advance distributor with HEI and a better rear end and tranny will do wonders for the old girl. You'd be surprised what you can get out of a smog suffocated old 307. I did all that to all my girls and wow, much better. The gas mileage sucks anyway so whats to lose? God, I need another one so bad I can taste it. I wanted to bigblock the last one, but the old man said we'd have to cut out the heater box, so we couldn't do it. But I wonder, would a 403 fit? If I could find one, there's gotta be some old Delta sitting around in a grandma's garage. Oh well, a girl can dream can't she?
  17. :AH-HA_wink: that would be sweet!!
  18. I always miss all my cars, but the worst one was my first. A black '84 2-door Cutty. My grandma bought it for me for my 16th bday, she died 6 months later. I drove it daily for 11 years, we were together through thick and thin. Even after a lady pulled out in front of me and destroyed the front clip, I bought a parts car and put her back together. 2 engines, 3 trannys, 2 rear ends, 2 interiors. We did alot of upgrading. hehe I finally had to sell it for the money, we were broke and needed a fresh start. That car bought our way to another town and a whole new life. I have a framed picture of it in my living room. Saddest day of my life, except grandma dying. I'll always love that car, I think about it almost daily. I hear it's still around. Alot of people know the car and give me updates, but it only makes me sadder. It's in such poor condition now, I don't think it could be brought back. After the wreck, I sat in the floor and stared at it through the back door and cried for a week. It was the most beautiful car I have ever seen. I've had many like her, but none could hold a candle. Unique color scheme, never find another one just like her. I'm sad now.
  19. Well when I say a big dealer, they have to have a big parts thing going, not all do. Some focus on their parts sales. They would have to go through a dealer, they just go through one of the huge ones.
  20. Because the smaller dealers pay more from GM because they don't get a huge truckload discount. The markup is still WAY smaller than most other things you buy like clothes, shoes, furniture, food, but for some reason people freak out over car parts and think they can negotiate the prices. I never understood why they think they can do that? I don't negotitate at Wal-Mart when I know I'm getting ripped off. The people selling cheaper are selling in volume and making money that way. Most dealers don't have that luxury. plus we work off commission and we're pushed by the big boss to try to carry a certain profit margin. It takes a certain percentage to cover expenses, i.e. taxes, rent, utilities, insurance, drivers, vehicles, fuel, etc. My department sells at MSRP, and has virtually no wholesale business and we still often are in the red at the end of the month. Parts is usually the loser at a dealership unless they are HUGE!!!!!!
  21. Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I wanted to do a greatest top 5 movies of all time so, here are my choices not necessarily in order... goodfellas shawshank redemption full metal jacket forrest gump stand by me
  22. Are you kidding? Winter in Oklahoma sucks!! No snow, just tons of ice and lots of dead brown everywhere. We have a brand new GSXR in the garage with 28 miles on it!! Come on Spring!!!!!!!
