Yeah, I only hope he understands the magnitude of what this car is. Its a 1 owner, 100,000 mile, bucket seats, 307, sunroof, two-tone Salon. What a beauty. I really wanna keep it for myself. But I don't think either of us can afford the insurance premiums for him to drive my '08 Silverado instead. I had to get rid of the Z, three months after he got it for me because he left. But my divorce present to myself was my new truck!! I'm all GM again boys!!

I've been gone a while. Had a few issues at home. Husband of 18 yrs was scewing the next door neighbor and left me and our son. But hey, its all good. I'll be uploading some pics of the newest member of my family soon. Its a Christmas gift for my 16 yr old boy. I'm still getting her all shined up and ready. What a find!!!!! Glad to be back though. I'll include a little glimpse, crappy phone pic. LOL

Well at least you got way from yours. Mine maybe wasn't quite as bad as yours but nonetheless screwed me up for life. I still talk to mine and because I'm the only child that did anything with their life I get stuck with her when she's too old to care for herself. But hey the upside is when that time comes I get to boot my worthless ass brother out of her living room floor of her one bedroom apartment in the freaking ghetto!! It will be worth dealing with her dumb ass just to watch my brother stand there in the street with his mouth open and all his possessions(some clothes) wondering where the hell he's gonna go now. Man, moms rock!! LOL I really hope my son doesn't feel this way about me. I really have tried, and his daddy is still here 16 years later and will continue to be, and I want him to be here, thats a helluva lot more than she ever did for me. And I was smart enough to stop at one kid, she shouldn't have ever had any. I think shes hated me since birth. Mothers day kind of pisses me off. Sorry to be such a downer guys. At least I have my husbands mother who totally rocks!! I love her to pieces, don't know what I would do without her, in all her magnificent flawed glory. We're going to plant her a new flower bed Sunday.

Any hints to genre, decade? Lyrics can be tough. Are the fairly recognizable? Some singers are almost impossible to understand.

Cool, has anyone on here ever used any of GM's branded chemicals? They have wax and leather cleaner among other things, and I know all their other chemicals are freaking AMAZING!! Their glass cleaner blows everybody out fo the water, and the "magic in a can" as the techs call it is a rust inhibitor/remover kinda like WD-40.

My boss has 2 '96 Impala SS'. They are obsessed with they're cars. A few months ago, she started running 87 octane because of gas prices and hers had the hard start problem too. Our driveability guy told him to call her out on it, he guessed that's what she had done and told her to go back to 91 and after a tank of 91 it fixed it.

Yeah I need to know too. I'm too scared to have somebody else do the Z. I'm afraid they'll use a buffer on it, so I'm gonna do it myself by hand. But I don't know what wax to use either. The biggest thing here is the sun. It sits outside all day while I'm at work and gets blasted by 110 degree summer days.

What should I do? I found a car, but it might not be for sale...
gmpartsgirl replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in The Lounge
If it belongs to the dealership, it's for sale. Everythings for sale, but as clean as the car looks in the pictures, $1k won't be enough. The car is worth more than that, plus at a dealer you're gonna pay more than if it belonged to an individual. Maybe it belongs to one of the employees. One of our techs has tons of cars stored on our lot, and all of his are for sale. Can you see the car during the day when they are open? Just tell them you saw it and would like to know if it's for sale, no big deal, but the money could be an issue. If you show an interest, then they'll know there are still people willing to put forth an effort for the car so the next day it could be out on point with a price on it. You need to be ready with more money. -
$3.49 for regular here, but I have to run 91 which is $3.69. Not sure on diesel, last I saw it was $3.99 but that was when we were $3.29. Oklahoma is usually in the top 5 cheapest for gas prices.

I did some searching and it appears you are right about no loss of power in an engine designed for E85, but it is everywhere that it does get fewer miles per gallon, approx. 25%. Depending on how you drive and the current price of E85 and distance away it may not be worth it. And we have had problems from customers who have tried to run it in their flex fuel vehicles. I don't know the ratio, because I don't know how many of my customers are actually using it. Perhaps they are getting it from the wrong places, and the tanks have water in them.

GM slashes North American truck production
gmpartsgirl replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
I had a crew cab Z71 Colorado and LOVED it with one exception.. the 5 cylinder sucked eggs!! It's way underpowered. I think if they put the 4.3 back in and not the 5.3, are you kidding me?! All that truck ever needed was the 4.3. They are good solid trucks, they are never in for service. They could be improved very easily in terms of exterior styling and interior. They could have a real winner on their hands fairly easily, maybe smooth out the lines a bit and lose the name. Go back to simple, S-10. Pull on peoples heart strings. They loved the S-10. -
Man I feel much better now. I'm not the only one who lives off Marlboros and Monster, or some combination of the energy drinks and stogeys. LOL
-
Tomorrow I'll ask around with the techs and find out the story but I know everybody in our shop is against E85. I know for sure about the power and economy loss, it's the damage I'm unsure of.
-
I don't want the 25% or so drop in horsepower and fuel economy from E85. The numbers just don't add up yet. Plus, we had one guy who filled up with it and had to have it towed in. We told him not to use it. It's killing the cars that try to run on it. At least in our experience. Something about water build up or something.

Well I'm not a guy but I need to lose a few too. I'm too tall to lose much weight or I start to look sick. If I could lose 15lbs. I'd be happy. I did lose 10-15 depending on the day by quitting Pepsi. I got hooked on Monster though. I sip it all day, it helps some with the hunger plus smoking too. The older I get the harder it is. Mike can lose 10 lbs in a week by skipping lunch everyday. He's always been skinny, drives me nuts. I was skinny until I hit 25 then my metabolism started to slow down. I'm allergic to exercise :AH-HA_wink: so walking isn't so much for me, I just need to watch my calorie intake a little better and I think I can shed the 15.

You guys are making me sad. Reading ismy favorite pasttime but I just don't have time because I get so immersed in the story I cannot put it down. I become totally emotionally involoved in the books. I can read 900 pages in 2 days easy. I've read all the Stephen King books up to his accident, since then I don't like them as much. I'm also a big fan of Anne Rice before she went religious. I downloaded a whole bunch of classic novels from the free online Gutenberg library collection, but I haven't found time to read them. I also read a bunch of Danielle Steele novels back in high school. I'm not a fan of romance novels now, but one of her books called Wanderlust is fantastic!! Dan Brown books really suck me in, I love the subject matter. Any suggestions of authors based on my love of the above mentioned authors?

We're getting $1500. Married+1. The interest free period for my TV purchase from Best Buy runs out in June, so I'm paying off the Best Buy card with it. I wish I could get a new bed with it, but I'm not eating $600 worth of back interest on the TV.

Well, we'll be working as usual. Mike doesn't have vacation yet because he hasn't had his job long enough. We'll probably take a long weekend and go float the river in Noel, Misery with our friends and stay drunk and sunburned. Lots of grilling out and hanging with the neighbors, watching the kids run around and play. My brother is getting married in June, so that will be nice and long overdue. Other than that, the summer is like any other time of year for us. I only get 2 weeks max vacation at my job. Hopefully we'll get to spend more time at the lake with Mike's sister this year, so the boys can get in some skiing time. I want to take a road trip soooo bad. Maybe next year.
