  1. That's exactly how it's going with selling the Buick, a bunch of leads and no results. I would say Christmas is the biggest reason as to why no one is buying.
  2. That is a nice new car recipe, indeed. As far as a new car recipe for me goes, the pieces fit like: Alpha, two-door coupe, small-block V8 power, manual transmission, black paint, arrowhead badge. Of course they already built something like that 32 years ago for me. In all honesty, I think the Impala name needs to take a hiatus or go rear-drive.
  3. Sweet. How did selling the other projects go?
  4. I've let go of buying any sort of new, rear-wheel drive car from GM and I'm more than content with distracting myself with vintage, rear-drive GM iron until further notice. Honestly, there isn't a soul in the world that needs a 100-year, 1,000,000 mile warranty and the aroma of new car smell or modern luxuries like fuel injection, air bags, and traction control. Yes, it's all nice to have, but you don't really need it and once you stop convincing yourself it's all necessary, there's a whole world of great, affordable rear-drive cars waiting for you, late model and classic alike. Of course, I do understand some of the things I mentioned really are important to some people (but, still, you don't really need it).
  5. I hope she's a real tank, Cort, and takes the Winter months like a champ. It appeared to be a really decent winter beater when you first showed me a pic of it a little while back.
  6. Thanks Cort. I hope your new winter ride is treating you well too ...
  7. I think this search might be over. As soon as the Buick sells, I should have a '77 T/A 4-speed waiting for me.
  8. The guy who I thought would be buying the Buick turned out to be a no-show. If anyone here knows someone who wants it, I've dropped the price to $3,000. I was trying to pursue my $3,500 asking price, but I have to sell this thing before Christmas rolls around, preferably by this Friday. 66: 5k can buy a pretty decent '79 403 car.
  9. True, but I should have enough cash left over to put a 403 in it if I want.
  10. I have another '77 T/A 4-speed car lined-up to check out. Asking price: $3,000. Horsepower: 650.
  11. That's an extremely nice price for a 1LE Camaro. They're not exactly easy to find, especially at that price. A flight up to CT is $225 bucks and it's almost a 7 hour flight in coach. I think I'll pass.
  12. How much would a plane ticket to CT cost?
  13. Here's another great '77 T/A 4-speed car for only $2,500. But it's in CT.
  14. Well never mind. The seller found an e-mail I sent him before I called him and sent me an e-mail just 30 minutes ago that said he's changed his mind on selling it. F. U. C. K. What a goddamn let down. I should have expected something like this to happen.
  15. I would be afraid the Mini would like that ...
  16. That would make the package complete. This car is a 4-speed. The Bandit T/A was presented to be an automatic, meaning Burt Renyolds didn't drive a stick. Because I could own and drive a 4-speed black on black T/A, does that make me more manlier than Burt Renyolds? This car could also whoop the snot out of any stock '77 T/A with the better '73 400 in it, even if it was a W72 car with 220 horses.
  17. Here's the thing, it's been for sale on 78ta.com since September. It's been right under my nose this entire time. For the money, I simply can't beat this car, especially considering all of the parts and the patch panels that are included with it (the rear-seat and trunk are loaded down with spare stuff). It also has the Hurst/Hatch t-tops instead of the Fischer or Cars and Concepts or American Hatch t-tops. The interior is considerably more usable than any other car I've looked at as well, only needing armrests, a headliner, a dash cap, and the cover for the rear parcel shelf to be presentable. The white '79 that was also for sale in the area was a total let down. I'd rather spend the extra $200 bucks and get the better car. If you want to take a gander at 'er, here's the link. 18. I suppose that was mostly my problem as well, being used to more glass area. I mean, I'm used to thick c-pillars (the Firebird, the Monte, and the Regal all have thick c-pillars), but the Camaro's seems to be two miles wide. I think the deep aftermarket window tint the 2LT car I checked out had was another problem that was affecting my ability to adjust to the car's rearward visibility. Forward visibility wasn't as much of an issue, though. It seems your mom's Camaro is spec'd out identically to the one I looked at too, except for the paint (which was black with white rally stripes).
  19. Very sweet. I checked out a black 2LT yesterday for the hell of it. Rear visibility in these cars is quite slim. Sharp ride, though.
  20. It's also not the hairy beast I thought it would be to drive. Aside from the lack of window felts making the windows rattle over every bump, it was a breeze to drive around the seller's town, quite civilized.
  21. Well, I can confirm I'm not buying any T/A in this thread. I have one that isn't listed through Craigslist in mind. I found it last night, checked it out this afternoon, and hopefully the Buick will be sold tomorrow so that I can buy it this coming week. It's a '77 T/A with a '73 400 and a four-speed, an original black-on-black car with a rare rear seat console option, and exactly what I'm looking for. It has minimal body rust and one spot that will need to be patched forward of the corner of the driver's side dash. The seller will also give me any patch panels I want from his '79 parts car, which will be few I'm happy to say. I get this particular hunk of Trans Am for $2,000. More on the bizzare option this T/A features: http://www.2gta.com/
  22. Remove the fat, leave the gristle. Good recipe.
  23. It is down here too. I could actually begin to tolerate the damned cold when I step outside to smoke if it wasn't for the wind. This keeps up, I'll probably stop smoking by Spring.
  24. I hereby dub thee "Cat Humper." Jaguar is not the definition of a perfect luxury car. While, yes, I will agree Jag builds attractively designed cars, they are far from perfect and have their flaws too.
