  1. Nothing is worth having to drive a Pontiac G6. Sorry. Buy the truck.
  2. Strange. Let's do an S10 ZR2 vs Colorado Z71 comparison here, because I want to. Wheelbase: ZR2: 122.9 Z71: 127.9 Length: ZR2: 205.3 Z71: 208.2 Height: ZR2: 66.4 Z71: 78.9 Width: ZR2: 67.9 Z71: 73.2 On one hand, the new Colorado almost dwarfs my H3. Yet, on the other, it doesn't seem much larger on paper versus the ZR2. I can't wrap my head around this f@#king truck.
  3. Hmmmmm. Okay, a few things... That review was posted to Oppositelock. Oppositelock is Jalopnik's community run sub-blog; the opinions expressed there are not explictly of the Jalopnik staff. And on that note, say what you want about Jalopnik, they're not exactly "pro-import, anti-domestic" (like some other blogs, publications, etc. these days). That review is actually from another site posted to Oppositelock. Again, a Jalopnik staffer did not write that review. Actually, Jalopnik doesn't really focus on reviews. I thought the review was fairly positive and mostly balanced. So what if you didn't like the writer's opinion on the CTS coupe's design? Its styling certainly wasn't for everyone.
  4. Good Lord. This article is over two years old. The 2.2L fan club needs to let it go already and move on.
  5. The new Challenger isn't terribly different from the current car. It looks more like a '71-ish model than a '70 model now. The interior is sort of like the current Charger's, except a little more polished. The Charger ... yeah. Not too sure what to say about it right now. Mixed feelings.
  6. My Charger's fob will intermittently eat batteries, too. Just an annoying quirk to the keyless start. I just hope for FCA's sake this doesn't become a bigger issue somehow ...
  7. There's a company out of Denver who will get your Ute to you. This also possibly explains the few rare Ute sightings we've seen in the States.
  8. New matte black grille and SRT8 grille round out the changes; it's still the same car. Thanks!
  9. Well, like I mentioned, it's roughly the same size as the old XJ. Both the XJ and Renegade ride on a roughly 101 inch wheelbase, with the Renegade being slightly shorter in overall length than the XJ and the XJ being slightly narrower than the Renegade. They're calling it a subcompact, but it's really not all that small. It's also larger than the Nissan Juke.
  10. The best part about that matte black grille? It makes people use their turn signals.
  11. Same as the old boss. I'll have better photos later down the road when the weather doesn't suck and I finish up my first round of mods.
  12. For those of us who miss the old XJ, this is almost our Huckleberry. You might not think it, but it's pretty close in size to the old XJ.
  13. It seems you can't recieve new messages here. If you see this, please get in touch with me. Thanks!
  14. Bad news! Like really bad news!
  15. I'm going through nicotine and RCR withdrawls right now. I can't be a functioning member of society. I scream at small children, scare young mothers, and confuse new fathers. Don't thank me. It's only a matter of time. I'll see you in the alley and I'll save you a cardboard box.
  16. TIME TO WIPE.
  17. This. Reliably getting from Point A to Point B should always be the priority over getting there fast or fashionably. Again, can't argue with this except I can't really find an $8,000 dollar something that's four-wheel drive that's actually worth looking at. Honestly. Everything is old and 130,000 miles plus. Hmmmm ... you know what? If I could just swap out my Charger for a similarly equipped one (read: no options, no nothing) with all-wheel drive without spending much more than what I owe on my car now, that might be an idea when I get over my ... emotions. Is there a curse jar I should be depositing change into for using that word in two consecutive posts more than once?
  18. Let's see ... coming back to this thread, okay. Where to start? The Charger's tires are mediocre all-seasons, but they still have decent tread left. Nope, having four-wheel drive wouldn't have kept me out of that ditch. But it would have allowed me to get back on the road again. I even admitted that myself in the piece I wrote. And agreed. What I should be driving to scare dickheads like that is the Tropical Cabines FMAXX. Because screw a Raptor. Drive a Ford F-650 with Edge headlights. Point raised and acknowledged. Logically, I can't argue with this post. Emotionally, I can rattle on for hours. Thanks, BV! I really appreciate the kind words. I was going to try and wait to actually build up a steady readerbase and better define the content before I admitted that this is that project I hinted at earlier. I'm really trying to get a feel for things. So, yeah. I don't know. We'll see if it's actually successful in the long run. Like I just said to Andrew, I can't argue against purchasing a set of snow tires with reason and logic. But emotions are a bitch. I guess it's time to be honest with myself, and everyone who reads this in the process. Now, after a year, I've grown fond of my Charger in the same way I grew fond of the Challenger. I like the car quite a lot, but I just don't love it. I don't know exactly how to put it at the moment. When I drove that Pontiac Solstice however, I found a quality in it that I think might have been what I was trying to find in all of the cars I've had over the years. It didn't matter what speed I drove it at, or if I drove it between traffic lights or through a curvy backroad, it felt ... well, I don't know. Engaging is the first word that comes to mind, but it isn't the right word. There's more to it than just that. Again, I can't quite figure how to say what I want to say in the same way I can't figure out how to explain how I feel about my Charger. I'll drive that car again and see if I still feel that way. I don't know if I'll buy the Solstice I found, but I'm working through the logistics associated with purchasing it right now anyway. Just in case.
  19. Another bland sedan with a piece of black triangle-shaped plastic behind the c-pillar. Let me pop two Viagra so I can get excited for this one.
  20. I temporarily forgot how to because of equal parts shock and shame. Sorry.
  21. Exactly.
  22. This is why God put Oklahoma in the bowels of Tornado Alley.
  23. So the backstory there is now on Jalopnik, for those who are interested. Don't ask me how.
  24. There's been a slight change in plans. Here are two scenarios. Which one sounds more appealing? Trade the Charger in for a Pontiac Solstice or Saturn Sky as a toy/nice weather car, buy something cheap and four-wheel drive for rainy days and snow days. Trade the Charger in for something four-wheel drive, buy a cheap and decent (unicorn alert) running and driving rear-drive car for a toy. All of this can be accomplished for thousands less than the Charger's pay off, so finances are absolutely not an issue here. I'm going to go for the former, I think. Just wanted someone else to chime in.
