  1. I am always happy to help. If I see anymore Bonnevilles/Catalinas/etc. of this era locally, I will let you know. :AH-HA_wink:
  2. Quaker State
  3. Indeed. The quality of this site is only going to head south that much more if we keep losing maturity around here.
  4. I have bad news, Monte: The guy I had talked to on the phone was thinking that I was talking about another car, the F1 Firebird on the lot. To make that worse, the owner of the lot, which I finally managed to get up with today, does not want to sell the car, which does have the 428. Here is the only photo Motorola Phone Tools would transfer to my PC. I have to download a new version of the software. I suppose the program is corrupt.
  5. Did anyone read/notice the words embossed on the front license plate bracket? :AH-HA_wink: Seriously, though, nice car Veezel. And a good buy, as well. I wish you many happy miles.
  6. I have went from paying ten dollars or so for one-fourth of a tank back during the fall and early winter to almost twenty dollars for one-fourth of a tank this past week. Twenty dollars would have bought me almost one-half of a tank. This is far beyond tolerable. I still get good mpgs, though: around 26 mpg or so in mixed conditions if I take it easy on the throttle.
  7. Do any of the blue-collar employees working at any of GM's assembly plants actually try and make their self aware of the hardships their company faces? Or do they know and just not give a dog's $h! in hell?
  8. I was not able to get up with the owner, Monte. I am going to go tomorrow morning and see if I can catch up with him then. I did get a few photos on my phone and as soon as I can figure out what is going wrong with Motorola Phone Tools, I will try and upload them.
  9. Have a great trip, Mr. Dart. I plan on gracing Europe with my presence after college. So I will be interested in the tales of your travels upon your return. :AH-HA_wink:
  10. Master of Puppets
  11. I am seeing Enclaves in my area quite frequently. I also got to see a rare sight today: a late 1980s Daihatsu Rocky with a mis-matched passenger side door.
  12. Sleek and seductive. I love it.
  13. I called the number to the lot after school today. The owner was not in, but someone who usually helps him out answered the phone. He quoted me a price of $3900 but was not sure if that was what the owner was asking for it or not. (To be honest, I thought he was thinking that I was talking about another car on the lot when I was on the phone with him.) I will double check tomorrow, Monte, and see if it has the 428 or not. I would have driven to the lot, but today, like the past two days, has been quite busy for me. I apologize for the further delay.
  14. "Kick The Chair" - Megadeth

  16. ATTN Monte: I drove by the lot today at 5:30. The front gates were locked. I am going to try again tomorrow for you.
  17. Also: the plastics used to make car interiors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7btM2RlLzI If you can, take the time out to watch the other five videos accompanying that one from The Discovery Channel's Future Car miniseries. The third episode was focused on BioFuels.
  18. Hmm ... I can't say that I do not like what I am hearing. It had better not disappoint like everything else after ... And Justice For All. Yes, that does include The Black Album.
  19. I love the very first Toronados. Such a wholesome and great design and so revolutionary for its time when it came to big American-made coupes.
  20. I am in Berea, monte. It is a good drive from Columbus to here, I know. I will get you some information on pricing as soon as I can. Maybe that will make it worth the drive, if it is cheap enough. And I know the owner of the place is not uptight with pricing, either. He won't refuse any offer that sounds reasonable. I remember the owner of the place that has it mentioned to me that it had a hugh jass engine, and that if it didn't sell he might turn it into a rat-rod-style car because it had a lot of power. Hmm ... I guess I will find out for sure within the next two days. :AH-HA_wink:
  21. Of course. I will get some more information for you either tomorrow or Wednesday, probably Wednesday as I will not be as busy as I have been today or will be tomorrow. So check back here over the next two days. Actually, I do have some photos where you can just barely see the car, it is in the background of a few pictures of a F1 Camaro I was considering to buy a few months back. I cropped out the F1 to show you what little I could of it. It has mostly surface rust and a few minor dents from what I remember of it. I remember the floorboards being mostly solid, too. Still interested? EDIT: Just noticed the way the faulty rear-window seal has been fixed. I believe you might want to replace that seal.
  22. Do you want to buy one? If so, I know of a Bonneville in need of restoration for sale not more than 10 miles away from me. I don't think it costs over five grand, if that. Let me know if you are interested.
  23. You had better post photos, Veezel.
  24. To me, The Black Album was the beginning of the end for Metallica in a lot of ways; a new "mainstream" sound compared to their last records, Bob Rock was now their producer, and Ulrich's drumming was losing passion in my opinion. No offense, but I find "Enter Sandman" a horrible song; it uses the same main riff over and over to the point of repetitive mediocrity, like Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness." "The Frayed Ends of Sanity" - Metallica
  25. You know, last night, I pretty much decided that Metallica actually quit making music of any real relevance since ... And Justice For All. I could go through that whole album and hear numerous elements (even a few riffs) of bands that are emerging today. I am sorry, but The Black Album and St. Anger mainly, are all just horrible and pale in comparison to their predecessors. "The Shortest Straw" - Metallica
