  1. Thank you everyone. Bad news though: she couldn't come along today.
  2. Indeed that is what it appears to be.
  3. I like this, there's potential.
  4. That interior is from a mid-Sixties intermediate, isn't it?
  5. I think the design of this car is handsome and clean. My only criticism is left with the grilles; they are too tall. +1
  6. Thank you DetroitNut!
  7. I have the issue of Motor Trend Classic which featured him. I love his ads for the second-generation Firebird and various GTOs. His best work was with Pontiac.
  8. America has turned yet another year older today! Let's just hope it's around to weather another year. :AH-HA_wink:

    Relief.

A few days ago I posted a thread titled "Critical mass" during a point this week where things in my personal life had become very stressful to me and I needed to vent. I eventually deleted that thread not wishing to add further stagnation to the stormy climate here at Cheers and Gears. In that thread I made mention that doctors were fairly certain that my uncle had cancer. This bit of news was the "breaking point" for me earlier this week, having witnessed two family members fall victim to the disease prior. I really didn't know how to handle that news. However, I recently received the good news that they are no longer certain that he has cancer. I am relieved to say the least, very relieved. It gives me added strength when it matters most. I also made mention of a lesser problem with an ex-girlfriend. I believe that problem has been solved at least for a while now and the girl I am talking to (who is a big Chrysler fan I might mention) is going to try and spend some time with me tomorrow. So things have turned out considerably better there as well.
  10. It looks like I might be hitting Europe before college rather than after then. :AH-HA_wink:
  11. This is the official vehicle of torture in Hell, don't you know. They condemn you to drive these for several hours in gridlocked traffic, and the AM/FM cassette stereo plays nothing but Barry Manillow singles in a constant loop.
  12. For some reason I can't see a Lambda-based vehicle replacing the Suburban effectively. I believe Suburban owners are more likely to use their vehicle to do actual work, such as hauling a boat or large camper, than in comparison to a Tahoe owner. I have a hunch that it's possible we will see the Tahoe replaced by a next-generation Lambda, but not the Suburban. In any case, I think the trucks on the C3XX platform will not be any larger than their current counterparts, and even possibly be somewhat smaller. I like GMC vehicles myself, currently being the owner of a Sonoma. It might not appear to be greatly differentiated from it's S-10 counterpart, but the overall changes make the truck much more attractive in comparison to it's Chevrolet twin. And I say that having owned an S-10 prior to my Sonoma. But there is truth in how GMC has been the redundant division for quite some time now. However, I think there is a way to make GMC work by allowing it to offer more work-oriented trucks than what Chevrolet can offer. And GMC doesn't always need every truck Chevy offers and vice versa.
  13. The addition of a V8 and a new grille on this car is akin to putting lotion on a crocodile.
  14. I believe one thing that could help not just the domestic automakers, but every automaker, is to be very strict on dealers. Ever stop to think that some of these dealers could be stealing money from the company whose products they sell? It's a real problem.
  15. They all have one thing in common, though: they all have all that whine, but no cheese.
  16. It needs to be a real, rugged looker.
  17. Happy birthday everyone! I hope today is a great day for you all! EDIT: My apologies to CadillacKing3, and drew770; I can't put your full names in the extra subject bar.

  19. Nope. Although I think some bits and pieces might be shared there, those images are what GM officially released months back that were for a proposed MCE of the GMT-900s.
  20. For the record, here are the Saab 9-6x and the MCE of the Tribeca:

  22. Good to hear things are going great for you, NOS. Best of luck with Ashley.
