1. This car was Lincoln's only legitimate contender against the Germans. Nice car and congratulations.
2. Like I said, the more things change, the more they will stay the same. In addition to that, who (outside of the design and engineering guys anyway) really understands cars at "New" GM?
3. The more things change, the more they will stay the same. So much for a new GM.
4. Nope. Sources indicate the Toyoaru rear-drive coupe is back on.
5. Quick question: I had the power window motor on the driver's side replaced in order to make my windows function again. The driver's side is operational now, but the passenger side still doesn't roll down. When I first went about having the problem corrected, the dealership I had taken the car to (Adams Pontiac-Buick-GMC in Richmond) said that the switch was bad. I've replaced the switch on the passenger side and, yep, still nothing. I'm thinking it's the master switch on the driver's side. Then again, it could be the relay, another bad power window motor ... So if someone could give me their two cents, I'd really appreciate it.
6. I've owned three domestic vehicles and I would honestly hate to own anything else. I'm not saying that I'm going to limit my choices, but after the Firebird and my next project car, Ford will be my first stop for a new car because they offer a car that correctly offers the qualities that I want in a car (Mustang).
7. Ask the dozens of soldiers who killed themselves at Fort Campell. Oh wait ... f@#k.
8. Kentucky is America's saddest state. Of course, I didn't need to tell you that.
9. By the way, the process of "rising the phoenix" is going to require me to pick up another car; a cheap beater. Time to find that ragged-out late second-generation Trans Am I've long been looking for ...
10. It's decontenting, as previously said. The 2004 Impala we had featured a cloth front bench seat ... and a AM/FM cassette deck, a feature about that car that just killed me, as well as the missing passenger side keyhole.
11. Buy a Trans Am and then I will consider your driveway complete. Congrats on a highly enviable driveway PCS.
12. What I'm going to do with the car: fix the dents and dings, repaint it black, put a gold hood bird on it, buy a set of 18" Year One reproduction gold snowflake rims, install a T/A rear hatch lid, T/A front and rear fascia and ground effects, a SLP Ram Air hood, gold Pontiac emblem for the front fascia, leather seats and door panels, Hurst shift handle, and gold-faced gauges. As for the engine ... that's classified. :AH-HA_wink:
13. Additional project details later.
14. <--- Dumbfounded.
15. High Performance Pontiac has an article in their latest issue on the ASC Trans Am. They had another proposal in addition to this one, a black and gold car called (what else) "the Bandit," that had a bolder front end in my opinion and had side sculpting treatments that were far more subdued.
16. What would it be? Personally, I'd do something like a double feature, with both movies based on the original Smokey and the Bandit. One movie would be similar in spirit to the original film, but feature a different car, altered plot and storylines, and different characters. This film would be titled Eighteen (for the amount of time the truck full of Coors had to be transported across state lines in Smokey; it would also be the deadline given in this film), and the main character would have to run blocker in a black 2010 Camaro SS RS for a truck containing pounds upon pounds of illegal drugs for a drug lord in Atlanta (hell, why not have Burt Renyolds play that part?) and get it there using only backroads from Huston, Texas. The companion film would be a remake of the original movie. Somewhere in both movies, the blockers from both movies would have a run-in with each other, tying the two films together. Either that, or I would direct a porno about f@#king in all 50 states in an RV titled Debbie f@#ks America.
17. This design for a Camaro to Trans Am conversion kit looks 100 percent better. ASC should buy the rights to use this design instead.
18. RE: Site moderation; I did try to offer my help, but I suppose the assumption was, at that time, I wasn't "mod material." Having me on board sure couldn't have hurt and yes it still somewhat irritates me. Oh well. I'm used to getting a "raw deal."
19. DF, I'm sending your door switches out in the mail tomorrow. Sorry about the delay, I haven't had much time to get some things I needed to get done in order.
20. Opel leaving the picture is a blessing and a curse. Holden might become more vital to future large car programs. Then again, GM loses a credible insight into the European market.
21. This is basically the equivalent of screaming at the top of your lungs at someone in a deep coma. They aren't going to hear you, even if you do scream through a PA system with the volume cranked up to 11 with the knobs ripped off.
22. We're going to have to put a site-wide ban on good photoshops of $h!ty GM cars. Its only going to make everyone else that much more upset.
23. I'm beyond apathetic. The way I feel is more akin to depression. In fact, I don't even know why I'm posting about it. Maybe because this particular piece of $h! made me feel an emotion that I haven't felt in a while and only emo kids fake? Maybe I feel rage, though, instead. Because I do have an urge to take a fat crap on the dashboard, piss in the gas tank, burn every interior surface with a Cuban cigar and a carton of Marlboros, then light it on fire and take another fat crap in the ashes. It's a product that doesn't belong at Buick. I hope when GM sells it stateside everyone equals it to a Terazza and laughs it off before buying a Mazda 5.
24. I'm proud to own one of the last of the "great ones." GM will never sell me a new car now, no way, no how.
