  1. You and the GM Design book were the two things that made me think of suggesting the XP Wiki.
  2. Someone, please, find a way to save that Cutlass. That makes me depressed to think about it.
  3. True. I guess you could say he does bring a taste of /o/ here. Which is a good thing, I think. That's where I used to lurk/post before /b/ infected me.
  4. I'd have to agree that Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwback throws their HFCS counterparts into the weeds. If I want to drink a soda, I'll go for it, no question. Jones Soda Cola is also good as well. I'm very disappointed that Pepsi didn't keep the Throwback sodas in regular production, though. I have to wonder why? It's so much better for someone to drink other than regular soda, which has turned into acidic sludge over the years. I think all of Pepsi's -- as well as Coke for that matter -- products should be made to the Throwback standard. I'd also have to agree that Satty doesn't even remotely bring a taste of /b/ to The Lounge. Sorry Satty.
  5. Hearing about the '88 Cutty has my blood boiling ...
  6. If I were to ever buy an SUV, this would be it.
  7. Here is an SS front clip with the Celebrity headlight conversion: http://www.montecarloss.com/photopost/showfull.php?photo=163 I think you have to modify the headlight bucket to make them fit just right, though. Maybe a set of these ... ? As for the mouse, I haven't seen his furry brown tail today. I'm still going to set up some insurance to make sure that he doesn't make a return appearance, though.
  8. Not bad, not bad. What percentage is that tint? I'm thinking five percent for the Monte.
  9. Anyone else think the Facel Vega HK is cool?
  10. I really like the Wiki idea. Perhaps we could also have one specifically for all of the GM XP cars?
  11. I have no problem with what they bought, really. But I have a big problem with what they did to their Expedition. Like you said, it would have made much better sense to sell it privately (it might would have brought more than $4500) then use that money for a downpayment for the car they wanted, since they had to apply for a loan anyway. Emphasis on what this incentive was meant to do is never highlighted to the public when it is advertised. It's there when you read the fine print, but ...
  12. I haven't owned a single car on that list.
  13. I took the rear seat out today, no mouse and nothing much in the way of evidence of the little snot living under there. If its anywhere, it's gotta be somewhere in the dash. I'm going to try the peppermint cottonballs. Or a mouse trap.
  14. That's cool as hell and decently done. Camino, another project car calls your name ...
  15. Thank you. I thought about repainting it black, but I think I'm going to just go back to white, try to keep the body as original as I can so that, in the future, nothing will subtract from its value. Eighteen inch rims are definitively on the table, though, as well as lowering it two to three inches overall. I'm thinking a black set of American Racing Torq-Thrust IIs will do nicely. I'll keep its original Rally rims (as well as anything else original that I swap out on it), though. I think someone sanded the clear coat off of it where you see those white dots, trying to ... well I really don't have any idea why in the hell someone decided to sand on its rear quarter panel. It isn't rusty ...
  16. The Cash for Clunkers program simply enrages me. It's a big hit here in Kentucky. Channel 27 news did a short segment on it the other night and someone had basically given away a '97 Ford Expedition in excellent shape. If I remember correctly, I believe they traded it in on a Ford Fusion hybrid. It seems that's the whole underlying motive behind this little incentive: to get Americans to buy smaller, more fuel efficient cars and not drive the cars they want (for those that are smart enough to see beyond the smoke and mirrors). Some cars are not deserving of such a fate and there are people out there who are not as fortunate who would be more than happy to drive, own, and maintain them. I'm proud to own cars that my government does not want me to and that's the way it's going to stay. Forever.
  17. Additional details coming soon when I figure out what exactly I'm going to do with it. I'm thinking about a Chevrolet Celebrity headlight conversion, for one ...
  18. Speaking of crapped all over the interior, I'm a little worried about what kind of parting gift Mr. Mousey Carlo is going to leave me under my rear seat ...
  19. The next car I'm going to pick up is going to be an '82 - '83 Trans Am, possibly as soon as next summer. Or maybe if I could find someone who would want what's left of the Firebird that has a really beat-to-hell but running one ...
  20. When I was working on the Monte today (sorting out some minor issues, like the gear selection indicator), I drove it up and down my street today, to stretch its legs just a little. As I pulled back into my driveway, I noticed something big, brown, and furry in the passenger side floorboard: a goddamn mouse. The little $h! even decided to take a leak on my passenger side door sill trim too. I think its hiding under the rear seat.
  21. I should have a bit of cash headed my way here soon. If it gets here, I'll shoot you a PM Ocn and buy it.
  22. I know our sliver '06 G6 V6 SE wasn't that great of a car. The electronic steering was numb and made it feel like you were steering a yacht and it had the styling proportions of a ferret. I will say, though, I might would have liked it a maybe just a little bit better if it didn't have that damn electronic steering.
  23. I'm saying G8, Camaro, Charger, 300C, or Challenger. :AH-HA_wink: Just as a heads-up, out of all those bands, Tool is the only one worth listening to in my opinion. They write well-constructed albums and progressive, interesting songs.
  24. People actually want '80s model G-Bodies now. Chevrolet Malibus, El Caminos, Monte Carlo/SSs, Buick Regal/T-Type/Grand National/GNXs, Olds Cutlass Supremes, Pontiac Grand Prixs all are commanding prices higher than they used to and decent examples are hard to find cheap. If you want one and can find a way to get it, jump on it. In about another five to ten years, they'll join the ranks of cars like the 1970 - 1972 GM A-Bodies, classic F-Bodies, and so on. Believe it. Shortly, there will be plenty of people asking five-grand -- minimum -- for a non-running, extremely ragged-out and beat to hell Monte Carlo SS or Cutlass Supreme 442, just like there are people now asking five grand for a non-running weathered and beaten '71 Chevelle or LeMans.
  25. Oh it works, quite well actually. I shot some on the Monte's engine bay and the grime just slid right off.
