  1. I'd love to give the Monte a run through those cones. Even better, the Cutlass. (You might would want to give that one a widddeeeee berth.)
  2. caulk
  3. Then you are lucky that you haven't had to find true joy in life without finding something much uglier first. For some of us, we stumble into a dark place that we most certainly have to find our way out of. It is, for the most part, different for each person. A long, drawn-out process can be in store in order for you to find your way out and it can make you haggard. There are some people who let it get the best of them, and they never find their way out. For the people that do make it out, they have a much better appreciation and a clearer perspective of life and are stronger people. We all have to face our demons sooner or later. Sometimes they'll show face when you least expect it. You are never fully and truly prepared to face them. Take it from me. I've been there before. And who knows? I might just have to go through it again in the future. I know I still have plenty of life left to live, even still. I don't want to speak for Camino, but it seems what's troubling him runs much deeper than the automotive industry. And I don't think he means living like a hermit in a shack in the woods, either. Like Moltar said, I can see why and know why someone wouldn't want to live out their time on this big ball of dirt functioning as just another small, insignificant part of the machine. Some people just aren't meant to function that way.
  4. Statutory and incest do go hand in hand, don't they?
  5. At least he didn't buy a H1.
  6. How did that line from Deliverance go? "Sometimes you have to lose yourself before you can find anything ..."
  7. Indeed, the bezels are painted over.
  8. A what anniversary Camry? I'm confused. Yeah, maybe Toyota itself has been in the U.S. market for fifty years, but not the Camry. Toyota execs must have access to some potent stuff to think of an extra badge so asinine and misleading. Then again, given the IQ level of some of the "people" in this country, they'll probably buy into the Camry being a storied, historic nameplate that has been around in this country for fifty years plus, like the Impala or Corvette. Which is exactly what 'Yoter wants. Because, when you boil it down, who outside of a true automotive enthusiast in this country knows what Toyota was selling when it first came here? That's what I thought. Can we evacuate the few examples of intelligent life in California out of the state so we could make room for all of the idiots in the rest of the country to move in when it sinks into San Fransisco bay? I'd really like to know if an idiot can swim.
  9. Before PCS gets to it, the old kid from Kentucky bids two dollars.
  10. Amazing work. There is a sort of harrowing quality to these photographs. You are seeing a once mighty city that is now no more than a former shell of itself. The fourth image in the set illustrates it so well; it almost makes you think of the ruins of Chernobyl/Pripyat, Ukraine rather than a landmark city in America.
  11. (f@#king) sucks
  12. No doubt it will soon be a collector's item, but this era Toronado is the most ungainly one ever built. It's like a 70 year old with a t-square went wild after guzzling a vat of Metamucil and Geritol.
  13. Yes, do the brake job first. You don't want to wind up like I did over the course of two days with the Firebird; car broken down in your own driveway, replacing the pads, caliper, and rotor in the pouring rain ...
  14. There's one specific reason as to why I like it better and it's the 305 H.O. The aftermarket support for it is pretty decent and I plan on making that engine crank out more than 180 horses. If I can get to 250, that would be great. The Firebird's V6 didn't have a whole lot when it came to aftermarket performance parts. It was basically headers, exhaust, and a cold air/ram air intake system and that was it. Maybe someday if I can find some plood trim pieces that are in better shape than mine, I'll reinstall them for car shows, just to see someone's disappointed face when they come to the conclusion its a clone when it really isn't. I have to say, it makes the front of car appear more smooth and modern. I know that if I plan to go through on the conversion, I'm going to have to pick up a new set of headlight buckets to save my original ones. There's a piece of the bucket that has to be removed in order for the headlights to work. Thanks again Cort. And yes you do. If I should ever have an Aerocoupe come my way again, I'll let you know. Oh, and then there's this ... http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1300243040.html It's something I will most definitely consider. Hopefully, whichever shop I choose to paint my car could also do this as well.
  15. Well look'it thur. I found the scissors they used to cut NOS's balls off. Just kidding. Congratulations on the new Neon, NOS. I would suggest an SRT conversion ASAP for it, though. I never could stand the cheeky grin of the base and R/T models.
  16. Try a nasty, disgusting meat pie. It also looks like someone's ass with a violent case of acne and third degree burns that were put out with an old shop towel.
  17. Thank ya Cort. It would be pretty cool if you did know the original owner. I'd really love to know the car's actual mileage. I've got pics of the Monte on here and on MonteCarloSS.com if you want to check 'er out.
  18. The third image in the set is my favorite. So, what's the deal with this BV? Are you going to college to become a photographer?
  19. Glenn - Slint *thinks of BB covering Tool*
  20. mutt
  21. If you notice, they did damage the upper portion of the doors and possibly the roof when they raised it up like that.
  22. Americans are fat. Americans are stupid. Americans are lazy. amidoinitright? (I do agree with Satty, ftr.)
  23. Stick it in your pie hole.
  24. Does it cost much? Also, I'm on the lookout for a new temperature gauge. While removing the gauges to replace and upgrade the horrible backlighting, one of the needles broke off and I don't know exactly how, either. It was intact when I removed it and sat it down, but later, when I picked it up to move it, it was broken off.
  25. Most stores in the U.S. have a mild form of "skylight-lighting" so why in the hell were they bragging about that?
