  1. I could see that. The tiny town of Paisley that I visited recently has a dealer whose sign still says "Chev/Olds".
  2. It sucks that although Toronto actually beat the Red Sox this year, they still won't make the playoffs. Damn Yankees. There is a lot of Yankee hatred up here. MUCH more so than any other team. Is that true elsewhere?
  3. Why is there a + sign on both sides? They're on what look like paddle shifters...
  4. Yeah, I heard that London has snow too. Nothing here in Pickering. I'm not happy about that, I have to drive down to Chatham tomorrow. Hopefully it's gone.
  5. Has said frat ever had any cream-filled pastries delivered?
  6. Sentimental? I was trying to create a topic and for some reason Windows refused to copy the URL over what was already in the clipboard so when I went to paste the URL in all it said was "I wanna fuck a dog in the ass". That made me laugh to no end.
  7. Never heard of this before... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Coming_Out_Day National Coming Out Day is observed on October 11 by members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities and their allies. It is highly encouraged for participants in this movement to wear red to signify to the world their desire for everyone to know who they are and what they believe in. The day commemorates October 11, 1987, when 500,000 people marched on Washington, USA, for gay and lesbian equality. National Coming Out Day events are aimed at raising awareness of the LGBT community among the general populace in an effort to give a familiar face to the LGBT rights movement. In the United States, the Human Rights Campaign manages the event under the National Coming Out Project offering resources to LGBT couples, parents and their children as well as straight friends and relatives to promote awareness of LGBT families living honest and open lives. Candace Gingrich became the spokesperson for the day in April 1995. Despite its name, National Coming Out Day is observed worldwide.
  8. Surprisingly, my stomach is not sore. My leg is a little cut up from where it hit the pedal on the way by, but I'm surprisingly OK for this. Lucky.
  9. Strange decisions abound. South Africa was an important enough market for Jaguar to LAUNCH the new XK there, and Cadillac's not even there yet? I would have assumed they'd been there for years. Also, BLS and STS but no CTS?
  10. 9.09%. Man, that thing was waaaay too long.
  11. GT Sno Racer + Rope tied to trailer hitch + Donuts in snowy parking lot = Fun. Even when you fly off, it doesn't hurt.
  12. Dare I say that this STILL looks better than any of the other new SUV designs that have come out lately, save the Enclave and Acadia...
  13. So - I was biking a rather tough trail and decided to try this rocky downhill. The first rock took me off guard, and off the seat. Rather amusing things resulted. I was laughing even, despite the pain. The pain was just temporary and I'm OK. I made this awesome (heh) Paint diagram to share it with all of you.
  14. I've driven an Elantra - our company owns one and lends it out to whoever needs to get around and doesn't have a car. So, before I had a parking spot in Toronto to put my Lumina in, I drove the Elantra for two weeks. I woudn't say I was disappointed by it - in fact, I wouldn't have regretted buying one. However, I did drive it like I stole it. Actually owning it wouldn't have changed this either. So, I guess the difference is that I respect the Cobalt more. That doesn't mean the Elantra is a bad car, it's just that you have to beat it up to have any fun driving it. That could also have something to do with it being automatic.
  15. When did he initially invest in GM anyways? Shouldn't he have made money by now?
  16. Build a car that looks like the Homer and call it the Chevy Kerkorian.
  17. Wow - that is quite different from the numbers in the US: Sept. 2006 Canadian sales (compiled from above link) GM - 35,687 Toyota - 17,204 Honda - 16,888 DCX - 16,191 Ford - 15,343 Mazda - 7,044 Nissan - 6,544 Hyundai - 6,090 VW - 3,176 Look how close 2nd through 5th are - and how commanding GM's lead is!! There are some smaller manufacturers missing here - but of the companies listed, GM has > 28% of sales.
  18. Those sound like a lot of the reasons I bought my Cobalt. Is that bad?
  19. Cool. Thanks for posting. Although I am a software engineer, physics has always fascinated me. I'm reading "A Brief History of Time" now.
  20. Interesing. On a side note, how do you pronounce Getrag? guh-trag or gee-trag?
  21. I was visiting my buddy in the NASCAR shop in my hometown before it closed down a few months ago. There were a few customers in the back, and we were hanging out by the cash. All of a sudden we hear a woman moaning in the back. We both look around like - where the hell is the porn coming from? Then the guy whips out his phone and answers. Woman orgasming as a ringtone. I was simply in shock.
