  2. My apologies for... digging up this thread. The birthplace of Henry Leland is also commemorated. It's in Montreal. Unfortunately the building with the plaque in it has now become... a McDonald's.
  3. Leftover TB SS vents? They look nice, if a little out of place.
  4. I'm actually working overtime right now, but that won't last until 12.
  5. There are only 2 that I'm really unsure of. Surprisingly, they're two of the modern ones. The '30s ones were a pain in the a** for me, but I eventually found them all (I think). For a lot of those, I acutally managed to find the original picture Sly used. I like my chances on this one.
  6. Honestly, I don't really "get" any styling until the '60s. The '40s and back seem to be a completely different world for cars that I don't really appreciate, and the '50s were just too gaudy for me.
  7. How did you hide the '59 Buick???? *bangs head on desk*
  8. You're going to drive me nucking futs with this question.
  9. This reminds me of a Dave Chappelle skit - kind of showed how silly hate is by showing self-hate... A black man is blind, and doesn't know he's black. He starts a KKK chapter, and eventually realizes he's black. He leaves his wife shortly afterwards. When asked why, he says, "She was a n***er lover!"
  10. Making a cool concept counts for almost nothing. Sorry. Making a concept like that and not doing anything with it is like telling your wife you bought her something amazing for her birthday, then not doing it.
  11. How did I miss this thread? Another yellow Cobalt.. woot!
  12. Interesting - so now, either me or WMJ have to pull off both of the next two to have any hope of dethroning Mr. Fly...
  13. Hmmm... OK, let me try then. Top left is a M54 3.0L i6 from BMW. Top right is a GM I5. Bottom left is the engine from the Tatra T603. Bottom right is the Cadillac V-16. The rusty blue car belongs to Thích Quảng Đức, a Vietnamese monk who burned himself to death to protest his government's lack of religious support. A very small part of that car can be seen behind a burning Thich on the cover of Rage Against the Machine's first album.
  14. I know that rusty blue car - but I wouldn't have known those engines without help from the others in this thread. I won't cheat here, but I will say that that should have been a separate question...
  15. Sorry to be a party-pooper, but if I had $35,000 I definately wouldn't spend it on a "for fun" car. I couldn't even see myself spending that much on my everyday car. I'd much rather put it into something like a bigger house.
  16. They do have some highways with fast lanes that are 140 km/h (almost 90 mph).
  17. While I do applaud them for being unique, I don't know who's going to buy this, since it costs more than one with seats and windows...
  18. youtube Sick. To even get your wits about you and keep going, that fast... just watch.
  19. You know, there's a balance - Be nice, until the $h! hits the fan. Then, you have to be firm.
  20. When my car's cold (within the first 2 minutes of driving) any big bumps (think 2-3 inches suspension travel) cause a squeaking or scraping noise from the right front tire. It kind of sounds like the springs in a really old bed, if you were to jump on it. It gets quieter almost right away, and after the car warms up, it goes away completely. I took a look at the tire, and nothing looks out of place. I'm going to take it in to a dealer tomorrow - hopefully it's under warranty, whatever it is. I was just wondering if anyone here had any idea what it is. Remember, it's an '05 Cobalt LS coupe.
  21. Is it true that the Pontiac's gone too?
  22. This really cannot be as big a deal as people think. NYC is not a pioneer here - the entire country of Germany has already done this.
