  1. Just to clarify - I was picturing this more for weak or older people who can no longer climb hills themselves.
  2. I think we're comparing apples and oranges here. I'd venture to say that most 3-series owners would buy a 7-series if they could afford it. Cadillac, on the other hand - how many CTS owners could you see buying a DTS??I think the upper and lower branches of Cadillac have more divergent markets than the upper and lower branches of BMW. So for BMW it makes more sense to go for uniformity, and to redesign from the top down. For Cadillac, I don't think it matters too much.
  3. Just an idea, not sure how practical it is. Those of you more technical than me may let me know about details and what you think. Basically I was thinking about the mechanics of a hybrid and how it stores braking energy for later use. This idea does not have to necessarily be connected to a gasoline-run system. Think about a bicycle with a small electric motor integrated either into the bottom bracket (where the cranks attach) or into the rear wheel hub. A battery could be mounted on a rear rack, over the rear tire. The brakes could operate this in reverse to generate power (as in a hybrid car). You could then have some kind of throttle for a little electric boost to help you up hills. There are people who will pay $3k for a decent dual-suspension mountain bike frame. I wonder if there are people who would pay the required price for a setup like this?
  4. Wow. That's a really nice design! Especially compared to the CR-V!!
  5. Now THOSE are some NICE BLUES. I like the darker end of the blue spectrum usually. Nissan took their current blue too far however, it's almost black.
  6. The part of the Cobalt you magnified to show depth was a reflection from the sun... :AH-HA_wink:
  7. This is one of the major reasons I could never own a car like that. Thinking about all the panic braking I do on highways - I would have destroyed about 4 or 5 B59's over the last 2 years.
  8. Anybody else pick up the new Smashing Pumpkins? It's pretty good. My only major complaint is that they compressed the sound WAY too much. It's a trend in recording now to make the music as loud as possible, which compresses the peaks and sounds bad when you turn it up. I love turning up loud music in my Cobalt because of the sound system, but that album I keep fairly low. Billy Talent*, on the other hand, is recorded very well with minimal compression so it sounds GREAT when you turn it up. * cue teh bitching...
  9. ps. vipes, Serj turns 40 this week.Your hero's OLD! Time to pick a new one! :AH-HA_wink:
  10. I saw an Element one day with an "H 0.5" decal on it.
  11. I recently found one of those pre-made dips at the grocery store. Wasabi Hummus. Yes, they make it... and I doubt anyone but me buys it! I really like it, but seriously, what a wierd product idea!
  12. Just listened to this on Buckethead's MySpace. Really odd, but quite good.
  13. I think I'm just not rich enough to experience good customer service. Never shopped for a Cadillac or Lexus, or other "luxury" products.
  14. I'm... The contrarian? I think? Wish this was a quiz.
  15. My apologies to you, Dsuupr, if I sound like an a**hole here, that's not my intention. Maybe it's my age that makes me not assume the level of customer service that some do, but I really didn't find much that I would have complained about in that thread. Just sounded like people trying to get through a day of work.
  16. Well... there's a fine line to tread here. I use the ramp the best I can in all situations. Big huge ramp? Might as well speed up gently. On the other hand, the ramp that I usually use in the morning is ridiculously short, requiring me to hug the inside of the last corner to carry all the speed I can and floor the car to make it up to the 90 km/h speed limit to merge on before the lane ends. I CURSE at the morons who accelerate gently anyways, and merge onto the highway at 60 km/h.
  17. Yes!! It looks like a Concorde and a Fit bumped uglies.
  18. No, dammit! If these women start speaking English, how am I supposed to seduce them with charm alone? It just takes the challenge out of it. :AH-HA_wink:
  19. My grandfather just turned 78. He still walks 6km every day back and forth to the post office. He has a car, he doesn't have to. He also bikes about 10 km each way to see his sister, again, because he wants to. I hope I'm in that good of shape at that age.
  20. While I still don't get the demand for this type of car, I still wish they would sell it here. Do you think they could pull of a G8 Ute? Obviously we would need to find another name, but do you think it could work under Pontiac?
  21. There are plenty of "bad" straight things they could be assuming you do. You're still closeted to your parents, right?
  22. Oh, I forgot Mexican and Greek. Also REAL Chinese. That Chicken Ball - American Chinese stuff is NASTY.
  23. I'm sure that those restaurants probably exist somewhere. In the area where I live and especially the area around my company's head office, it's pretty much all Asian food. Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, Viet. That pretty much sums it up.
