  1. Background: Tamils are a distinct ethnic group within Sri Lanka (island nation south of India). There's been a civil war raging since 1983 between the Sri Lankan government and the Tamil Tiger rebel movement. The Sri Lankan government is just now clearing out the last of the Tamil areas, and is nearing military victory. There is a huge Tamil population in Toronto, as many of them have left due to the conflict. Over the past couple of months there have been massive protests downtown with the goal of getting the Canadian government to help the Tamils. Depending on who you ask, they are freedom fighters opposing genocide of their people, or a terrorist organization. I really don't know what to think or how to react to this throng of angry people in my city. Any perspective, anyone?
  2. You know your fart is bad when you can't even stand the smell of it yourself.
  3. Calling China a Communist country is no longer at all accurate. Sure, their government is still called the Communist Party but the reality is that ever since Mao, they've been slowly moving away from true communism and more towards a capitalist dictatorship. In fact their economy now looks a lot more like the United States than it does like the former USSR. The economic situation for the average person in China is similar to India, but slightly better - yet China takes flak while nobody cares about India. One thing that their current situation makes clear to me is that capitalism without democracy is even more unfair to the average citizen than communism is. Communism is not the enemy of democracy - dictatorship is. That's the bad word you should be applying to the Chinese government - not Communist, DICTATORSHIP.
  4. LOL I remember this song. I remember an announcement halfway through it at the strip club once that this was the 'cut-point' where the 'second song' begins for lap dance purposes.
  5. In university, a friend and I were thinking of doing a body kit on one. We found the prices (esp. for the v6) very inflated because apparently a lot of people are buying them for this purpose.
  6. Moltar and Ocn win - '73 Skyline. I was looking at the history of the Skyline and found it. Can't believe how old it is (starting in 1957 under the Prince nameplate) and also how badly they copied American design, just like early Toyota did.
  7. Also - the difference is that on a normal grill the patty is not compressed, so it retains more fat and moisture.
  8. It depends on the patties you get. If you take it out of the package and its moist, you're fine. If it's already dry before cooking I don't think there's a good way to cook it on there.
  9. I use it every few weeks. You should only use it on things that are greasy and moist, as it is designed to remove said grease. Burgers aren't really something I want to remove the fat from. Sausages work well, so does chicken. Anything thick or covered in something like barbeque sauce is a bad idea since there's no way to turn down the heat, so you'll burn the outside long before cooking the middle.
  10. I took a late night stroll through Chicago once and didn't feel like I was in danger.
  11. When you start a thread with something as terrible as a dog in a sack flying through the air defenseless - well, I really didn't think it could go downhill from there. Congratulations ocn. You found a way. :AH-HA_wink:
  12. Congrats. Don't worry, the neighbourhood hasn't changed, the trannies still stand on the corner by the high school! LOL Man I wish that was a joke.
  13. Found this: gmaps Basically you can zoom in to certain places further than the normal on screen controls will allow by setting the zoom level in the URL (z=23). Wonder why they chose this part of Chad to take a detailed picture of??
  14. Bad luck omen? Car display today: "13C 131313km"
  15. WTF? You don't revive a brand with something like this... Hell, you shouldn't even sell something like this period. I like.... the headlights. That's all the nice things I have to say.
