  1. "Real smart, son... One v----- for the rest of your life. Real smart."
  2. Those modular seats in the Lumina were such a good idea. Also, the self-leveling suspension. I had it in the Trans Sport.
  3. I can understand censoring political discussion, in which personal political opinions are raised, however here all someone has done is state a fact that has been created by a politician. I don't think this type of thing should be censored. If you do think it should be censored, then consider this - by extension, the Cash for Clunkers program was also a government initiative - maybe all comments about that should be stricken from the record. Or, if you really want to get silly with it, governments own part of GM now, so maybe we're not allowed to talk about them anymore?
  4. Or, at the very least, a little nationality flag.
  5. Actually after testing all four batteries, they are all holding more than the marked 3V. I think the battery holder on one was manufactured badly, it has completely come off the sauter now. The other one is fine. See this website for another guy who's had that same issue. As far as positive/negative, it's clearly marked that positive goes up, and the batteries have their positive end marked.
  6. All the owner's manual tells you is how to change the battery... I've done that, and it's not working.
  7. The battery in my first remote died about 2 years ago, so I started using the second one. Now that the second one has died, I went out and bought new Duracell 2-pack of batteries marked DL2032/CR2032. The dead ones were Panasonic CR2032. I've tried both batteries in both remotes, and none of those combinations work. Is there some kind of reprogramming I need to do??
  8. One thing I noticed with the new Golf as well... There is a strange, faux-chrome lined hole at the very bottom 6-o-clock position on the steering wheel. It is the perfect size to get a finger stuck in, which would hurt like hell if the wheel was returning to center when that happened.
  9. I'm very confused about the new VWs... the Golf is now Mk6, but the Jetta is still Mk5?
  10. Almost forgot - saw this last week. Guy pulled over by an undercover in an Uplander. Now that's an unexpected vehicle.
  11. About 10-12 brand new Camaros, with plastic body protection strips attached, being driven by guys in safety vests. All were either RS or SS, seemed about half and half. They were various colours. It was near the factory in Oshawa. They were all waiting to get onto the westbound 401.
  12. That photo makes the center stack look like it's on a huge angle. Is it really, or is that just the photo?
  13. May I be the first to say HA-HA! We didn't get any. So... I guess I was the only one brave enough to click on this topic?
  14. One of my best friends has made a lot of straight people he knows think differently about gay people. He is a Russian-speaking Ukrainian who spent his University (undergrad and grad) years in Germany. So, he has a strange Russian/Ukrainian/German accent mix that is slowly evolving into plain old Canadian the longer he stays here. Most people, upon first meeting him, just chalk up any behaviours that are not normal for a straight white Canadian as being caused by the European upbringing. The accent hides any real vocal traces. He is very open about being gay, but doesn't push it in people's faces either. Eventually somebody will ask a question about a 'girlfriend' or something along those lines and they will find out he is gay. I think this is really the ultimate respect-fostering chain of events. Befriend somebody, then find out they are gay. Does wonders to open up people's minds.
  15. Would I rather take a Genesis over anything Toyota offers? Yes... but a 370Z? That's pushing it. I'd much rather have the Z.
  16. They didn't kill analog TV in Canada. I still have it. Screw paying $40-50 a month for basic cable when I can get 5 channels for free. The amount I watch TV, that's all I need.
  17. ...and oddly enough after the last few comments, I work for an American company.
  18. Looks like the Batmobile from the Dark Knight. http://www.automotto.org/entry/lamborghini-ankonian-concept-project-adds-more-aggression-to-the-reventon/ A couple of days back, we had a look at the Lamborghini Madura concept, and now there’s a more aggressive concept from designer Slavche Tanevsky in the form of the Lamborghini Ankonian concept. According to the designer, the Ankonian takes the design of the Reventon to the next level, even though the concept itself manages a unique expression. The supercar concept has a more aggressive design, and is downsized to account for a more environment-friendly status, though it does not include any hybrid or similar technologies. The mid-engined supercar has a narrow and rather complex-looking body, with a garnishing of GT proportions. Thin OLEDs embedded between the surfaces function as headlights, and while all those lines may look weird, the Ankonian supposedly makes the best use of it all. The concept was named after a bull type famous for black hair, and since the designer had some help from professional designers at Lamborghini and Audi, the finished model has impressive looks.
  19. Oh, and it's not a power antenna or CD changer. Only thing back there besides the standard components in every car is the Pioneer subwoofer that came with the car. The sound seems to happen whether the radio is on or off, it doesn't matter.
  20. Forgot to mention - it always happens when I'm stopped. Can't see how a loose muffler bracket could cause exactly five knocks, evenly spaced, every time.
  21. This is something I don't think I've ever posted about before, even though it's happened since I bought my Cobalt. Occasionally (I'd say once a week), I hear what has become a very familiar noise from somewhere in the back end of my car. It is exactly five quick 'knock' or 'tap' sounds, about 1/2 a second apart. It literally sounds like somebody knocking on the trunklid - the first couple of times I looked around my car to see who was knocking. It's not loud, as I notice that passengers usually don't pick up on it. I've never noticed any problem stemming from this sound occuring. It's not a problem, but I'm just curious - What could this be?
