  1. Back in the day 98 was by far the biggest poster, like 3 times what everyone else said. He posted so many news articles from the web...

    SADD

They parked a wrecked Tracker on campus at my university with a big anti-drunk driving sign on it. That Tracker was so f-ed up I really doubt anyone in the car survived. That's a pretty clear message.
  3. Canadians say 'zed' too. Even our GM ads say 'zed-oh-six'
  4. OK, Charger is now leaving the repetitive thing for... multiple personalities? Momma no.... Of all the people this world needs more than one version of, could we have someone who doesn't look like this? j/k charger...
  5. c'mon kids... it's bad enough you ogle the 'hotties' at your school... we don't want to encourage you to take pictures. I like BV in once piece, not beat up for taking secret pictures of the football team to post for us.
  6. pac-man ps. 68 - You're thinking of regular cocaine. Crack comes in rocks and you smoke it. You can't do 'lines' of crack. I want to see somebody try though, snort a rock?
  7. ahh... Complaining about Satty's repetitiveness is kind of moot I think. We're all repetitive. It's part of what gives someone a 'personality' on the board. Otherwise you would be so random that nobody would remember you.
  8. I mean a REGULAR poster.... Don't be offended Stace. You just don't post enough for us NOT to be pigs...
  9. Good job with the front and the bottom of the door. You might want to put a B-pillar back in though, looks a little funny with just a sheet of glass...
  10. Yeah, what did we expect though? It's like a girl walking into a frat house by herself. Eventually, somebody is going to fart out the stench of death, burp like Homer, or scratch his balls a little too fervently, and she's disgusted and gone. She needed other girls here to tip the scales a little...
  11. Green Social studies = green notebook in elementary school...
  12. Way too many bad thoughts came into my head after reading this post. "Ready to be basted?"
  13. Dude, are you thinking of the Cayenne? The Cayman's not a truck...
  14. The front's a little too pointed to be a Saab. Pointed beaks like that make me think Pontiac. Other than that, it's quite nice.
  15. Exactly. One of my favorite authors, Douglas Coupland, off-handedly coined the term. I went to see him speak and read from one of his new books when he was in town one day. Generation X was the title of one of his books about that particular age group, and the name stuck. He said he didn't realize it would become such a part of culture like that. He also confirmed the basic idea of what Sixty8 said above.
  16. hmm.... is it an Alfa concept car?
  17. I've done 0-170 in 4th gear in the Cobalt. Mind you that's km/h...
  18. I didn't realize how similar Hilary Swank and Rachel Bilson looked until I saw that particular picture of Swank...
  19. Talking about my trip to China in the other thread: Buick bucks the trend reminded me of a question I had for Josh, or rather a kind of challenge. Now, I don't pick up regularly by any stretch of the imagination, but I was just wondering if I had one thing up on Josh: Have you ever picked up a girl who doesn't speak English? It's fun, you can't talk about anything, you just have to do it and hope she likes it.
  20. I spent 2 weeks in China in late April / early May. It was interesting to see the Buicks there. In my entire time there I did not notice ONE automatic - even Costa Rica had a few. One strange decision is that these cars only say BUICK on the sides, on the back they all say SHANGHAI GM. The GL8 and Regal were WAY more common than I would have expected - most of the cars here are TINY. The Regal was most commonly powered by a 2.5L HF V6. I think the refresh they got there looks more modern than the Regal that just went out here. It works. I also got used to the idea of the Buick Excelle while there. It's the Optra with Buick clothing. Six-spoke rims help the side profile. The upscale models actually had hood ornaments. Then again, so did upmodel 2000-era 323s (Proteges!). VW is the big brand you notice on the road there though. They have owned the market there for years. The old boxy 80's Jetta still sells to cab companies there, meaning that the new Jetta is called the Bora. They also had huge numbers of the Santana, something I've never heard of before. The Chinese brands are all there of course, but none really have prestige. The most noticeable one is Jin Bei, and they are mostly delivery trucks, little Chevette sized hatchbacks, and little vans similar to what Toyota sold in the 80's. Yuck. Their model names are RIDICULOUS - all of them were wither 8 or 9 digits of alphanumerics. The van was an HF for example, so the badge on the back literally said, with no breaks: "HF986234E" (numbers invented of course, but there were THAT MANY of them...) Even the Chinese laugh at Geely. They all look like they're trying too hard. The QQ, their tiny hatch, advertised its engine sizes on the back. The GTs said 1.1, the base models actually had a badge on the back: "0.8". Their driving is crazy. People don't leave the same safety cushions of space they do here. Braking happens last minute. Lanes disappear when there's too much traffic, and people just cram themselves in. If you're stuck in traffic and there's nobody coming, just drive around the problem on the wrong side of the road. Oh, and honk CONSTANTLY. Passing a biker with lots of clearance? Honk. Change lanes without signaling and then see somebody else do it? Honk. It's kind of like saying "I'm here" as opposed to "Hey a-hole!", so nobody gets offended when you honk at them in China. Anyways, there are my automotive observations. Sweet trip overall.
  21. Anyone else think they messed up calling the sequel to the movie "The whole ten yards" ... and how stupid is the idea of Ocean's Twelve and Thirteen?
  22. I'm going to have to throw some Canadian music in here, and say that the girl from Jakalope is pretty hot. ...and also the singer from Metric I agree fully with the Jessica Alba comments. One complaint I have though - she played a stripper in Sin City, and we didn't get to see anything. I want my money back. Same with Natalie Portman in Closer. LADIES - If you agree to play a stripper in a movie, show us the goods!
