  1. Of those, I've seen: Coyote Ugly Cocktail Speed 2 Armageddon (CHEESY, probably one of the cheesiest movies I've ever seen, how can you say it is good???) Part of one of the Police Academy movies. I think I'm too young for this list.
  2. Oh... BV's "Driving with Illegal Accessories" reminds me of one of the dumbest things I think I've ever been a part of. We called it gravel surfing. We had a piece of particle board about 2x3 feet. A big hole drilled at one end. A rope tied through the hole. One end of the rope was about 3 feet long and was for you to hold on to. The middle was tied to the board, and the other end of the rope was tied around the trailer hitch on my friend's MX-6. We then drove around gravel roads in 1st and 2nd with someone standing on the board and holding on for dear life. Nobody fell off thankfully, and it was just some harmless fun. Then my friend decided he wanted to go faster. He figures gravel is too unstable and he won't get up to speed. So we go out to a paved road, and pull the board back out. He's going along at about 40 km/h (25 mph) and I can smell the sawdust he's wearing off the bottom of the board. Pretty nuts. Then, they hit a big bump where a culvert went under the road. He flew up off the board, landed on the road and slid along a little ways. Very nasty cuts as you can imagine. Dumb!
  3. I think they're actually bike wheels, take a close look at this picture: Still not legal, but definately safer than small wheels would have been.
  4. "We" in the following refers to me and my university classmates who shall remain nameless. We tried to grow some weed but it wouldn't take. Obviously I've partaken from time to time as well. Underage drinking, of course. We stole lots of street signs in university, our house had at least 30. We built a recyclable soap box derby car with money from our engineering department and used the leftover money to build a bong. We stuck the engineering logo on there - hey, they paid for it. We were on our way to a keg party one night and the cops were already there breaking it up when we got there. The cops were all inside and left their cruisers out front. We let the air out of the two passenger side tires on one Crown Vic. That's probably the worst thing I've done.
  5. antoine: I think you need to add a lot more than that for street legality. These things are NOT safe. Also, it seems a little silly to me to use gasoline at this point. I mean, there can't be that much energy in a single gallon of gas. In all the time it would take something that slow to make it across the country, couldn't you gain at least that much energy from solar? I know it's a study in efficiency from gasoline, but I'm just not sure how much of the findings would actually be applicable. Cool nonetheless, that's why I posted it.

  7. This was my first car. Not this particular one but one exactly like it. I always thought the matching rims were kind of cool. Until I cracked one and found out a new one would cost me an arm and a leg. Then, I had 3 white rims and one black one.
  8. That's too bad. I went to Hong Kong recently. Stayed in the Mirador "Mansion". What a hole. After being spoiled by the nice hostels in mainland China I thought we would be OK booking a cheap one in Kowloon. Nope. Ah well, the city was interesting. The peak tram is very unnerving though, being pulled up by a single cable. I was very impressed with the escalator system. Thousands of people commute to work just by getting on a system of escalators and going down the mountain. Cool. Anyways, not sure if you've visited to know what I'm talking about... but it was a good vacation. I'm just glad we figured out not to fly out of HK directly. Flying in and out of Guangzhou was about 50% cheaper.
  9. When I went away to school I just left my car insured under my parents' address. Nobody cared.
  10. Yep. You sure are going to need a lot of 710 for that engine.
  11. OCN did - I guess this section needs an admin to post.
  12. Congratulations. Don't let it all overwhelm you.
  13. Like everything on the Internet, it must be taken with a grain of salt. I think it shouldn't be used as a reference for any kind of serious research, but for my own information it's great.
  14. We had to read Ender's Game in high school. It was a good book. Surprisingly anti-government for something they made us all read....
  15. Fly... What was there before? Just more rubber? Looks good.
  16. "The Corporation" by Joel Bakan. It was made into a mini-series too. It's about the history of the corporation in the US, and how it came to be what it is today, including what makes things like Enron happen. It's interesting to me - don't recommend it unless you tend to question society.
  17. Exactly. Not sure if this is as applicable for you, ocn... There's just something about taking an 'innocent' girl and making her say dirty things. We've talked about things youre definately NOT supposed to talk about in the first two weeks of dating - serious $h!. I've never bonded with someone so quickly before. Sitting here talking about her has already made me feel less upset about tonight. I REALLY hope this works out. ...and that her version of 'making it up to me' sucks. In the right way.
  18. Man, this sucks. Just called the girl I'm seeing (not sure if I'd call her "girlfriend" yet)... anyways, today is my birthday, and she had promised me naughty things. I've only known her for 2 weeks but it is going really well. Here I thought that asians were shy, she was raised in China and everything, and asks to play strip poker on the 3rd date So... I call her up today and she is not feeling well. She says she will see me tomorrow and "make up for it". So at least that's good to hear, but my birthday is still gonna suck...
  19. They make more money on service anyways. He's crazy.
  20. I think that Skyline in the second video is RHD, and the 'chick driver' is the passenger.
  21. It may be a chop, but I have seen people jump that far on downhill bikes. There's one trail in Whistler in BC where it goes over a road that has been cut into the mountain side - literally. You jump off the cliff on one side, over the road, and land on the low land on the other side. I have a DVD of bike stunts and there's video of this crazy guy doing it. There's also a 'urban rider' guy who can ride along the top of railings - Round metal railings like 2 inches in diameter and this nut on top of it on his bike. It's called "The Collective". If you can find it and have an interest in extreme sports I recommend it.
  22. Agreed. Although I'd hate to see what the Wrangler would look like after landing from that height...
  23. I'm quite happy that it's 2006, and am enjoying the now.
