  1. Seriously...I didn't even hear about this up until reading this thread...well, I may have heard the term "bird flu" or stuff like that passed around, but never knew what it was exactly, nor do I care...Some may say I don't hold my life in very high value...well, you're probably right...like i said, I don't care :P
  2. The Range Rover deffinitely takes the cake as the best SUV out there. Of course, it's price range puts it in a league higher than that of the escalade and it's competitors...the Cayenne is awesome to, but I don't think it's considered a full-size SUV is it? It's more inline with the Touareg, X5, FX, SRX, RR-sport etc...as far as size I would think...
  3. personally, I think the look of the navigator's interior is the best by far, followed by the QX and 'Slaed tied for second, and the GX trailing as far as looks go anyways...
  4. Sex on wings!
  5. Oh, also, along the dash (specifically on the passenger side) what are those matericlas above the wood trim? Is that like some type of aluminum? Or is it just plastic? The material surrounding the vents too. I have a feeling it is just plastic, which is kind of a let down...some brushed aluminum or something like that would look great in place of that...Same goes with the steering wheel...those peices surroiunding the steering wheel controls look like just plastic, and they would look great with aluminum or wood inserts instead...
  6. I was reading the articel and just noticed, They actually etched the wreath and crest into the bulbs (look at the close up shot of the headlight and the middle bulb)...I must admit, the attention to detail on this car is pretty amazing...

Hmmmm...interesting...may have to check it out...
  8. The escalade is growing on me...first impression with the exterior weren't all that high with me...I actually liked the flares and cladding on the current escalade and thought they were a nice defining feature...some may have foudn them gaudy and "tacked-on" but I liked them. The interior seems nice, can't wait to see it in other colors and different trims...They could've done something more with all the buttons and black plastic...while it may be higher quality, I jsut find the black plastics and buttons to be somewhat of a turnoff...I want to see under the engine bay though, get some more interior shots, and really see this thing...I guess I will at the auto show...I also like the list of standar features...these 900's should be a big hit...
  9. I don't care who says it how. I don't care if the creator of the impala at the time pronounced it incorrectly, I don't care about any of that. The fact of the matter is, he pronounced it incorrectly. People pronounced it incorrectly then, and they pronounce it incorrectly now. Just because GM says it incorrectly doesn't make it right just because it is their car. They named it after the animal using the exact same spelling. There are no 2 ways around it. Im-PAL-uh, while it may be pretty widely accepted as the correct pronunciation is in fact incorrect. Say it however you want, just know if you pronounce it im-PAL-uh, it is still incorrect no matter how many times you hear/heard it pronounced that way, no matter who you heard it from. Correct way: Im-Pah-luh Incorrect way: Im-Pal-uh And that's the end of that.
  10. From the commercials I hear it is pronounced the correct way, the way most likely all dictionaries pronounce it. The way it is supposed to be pronounced, unlike the mispronounced, yet widely used version which I do tend to hear, and when I do I cringe and it sends chills down my spine Honestly I don't know what is so hard for you people to understand. im-PAL-uh is obviously the incorrect way to pronounce it, no matter how many people do pronounce it that way, even if GM pronounces it that way, it is still incorrect. The correct way is im-PAUL-uh...I don't care how you guys pronounce it...I could honestly care less...just admit you're saying it the incorrect way and I'll be happy. It is a proven fact but you guys seem to refuse to acknowledge it. :AH-HA_wink: It's all about proper english.
  11. I want to see this granite trim I have been hearing about!
  12. Thank god... I know this will be a hit... -3 horns, you can never find a horn when you're mad, and they all play la cucaracha -A seperate sound proof bubble dome for the kids with optional restraints and muzzles All my life, I have searched for a car that feels a certain way. Powerful like a gorilla, yet soft and yielding like a Nerf ball. Now, at last, I have found it.
  13.
  14. fine, I'll take back my giraffe comments, and instead I'll just quote my previous comment :AH-HA_wink:
  15. oh, come on...obviously I'm exaggerating But it is similar in that they are both pronounced incorrectly...ok, to make it better, how about changing the G in giraffe to sound like G as in "guy" instead of G as in "jar"? Same thing.
  16. That's like the movie Joe Dirt where Joe tries to make it sound nicer by pronouncing it "Deer-Tey"... The thing is, Chevy has badges of Impalas on the car...That would be like me slapping a giraffe badge on a car and calling the car a giraffe but pronouncing it "Guy-Rafe-ee"
  17. The only reason I could understand saying it the wrong way was if they had some southern accent or something to that effect...Personally I rarely ever hear it pronounced the wrong way...I don't even hear the commercials say it the wrong way, but hey, like I said, if you guys want to pronounce it the wrong way then that is your decision...but just remember...it's wrong!
  18. Yes, but obviously they got the name from the animal. If not then why in the hell would they use that name let alone put the animal on the car? Educational channels like Discovery pronounce it the correct way, the dictionary shows you how to pronounce it the correct way, and just because GM chooses to pronounce it the wrong way sure isn't saying a whole hell of a lot for GM, that's for sure...
  19. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=impala That is how it is pronounced...You can pronounce it however you want, but that is the correct way to do it...
  20. I've always pronounced it like #2... it's like when people say Volvo...I've always thought it was pronounced Vole-Vo and pronounced it as such, but when I hear it like in commercials it's Vall-vo...I mean, either way it sounds fine I guess...I just always thought it was the first way... or then there's Jaguar, but it is always funny to here those crazy brits pronounce it Jag-You-Are on the commercials instead of Jag-War like we do...
  21. Wow...ya gotta love how they camoed pretty much all the edges in turn making it pretty obvious where all the edges and design features are and basically gave away the jist of what it would look like  Look like it will turn out pretty nice though...thanks for the pics!
  22. Eminem sucks...all rap sucks...especially nowadays...oldschool rap I am starting to like more and more, and it's good to see Run back because he seems to be bringing the oldschool rap style with him...and I've been listening to beastie boys lately, but they are more of a rock/rap...the point is, I'm not into rap, and if I have to listen to it, it better be oldschool because I'm not into this new shizzle...but that's just my opinion...who the f*ck am I you say? Nick Damiani, ya god damn right! :AH-HA_wink:
  23. Good idea on the Corrado Mute...Those are awesome cars. They are pretty comparable to 944's which were also awesome cars (correct me if I'm wrong but were they not competitors?, I know different price ranges, but I always thought they were compared)...Deffinitely go for a corrado if you can, they are great looking, pretty quick, and they handle great. They also have a pretty wide aftermarket...Very cool cars. I love the corrados..
  24. I wish I could say it was, but do not fall for that...I saw a beautiful 1995 M3 for sale that the guy had done a ton of work to for about 5 grand...it was a scam...so is this...do not fall for it...Believe me, if it was for real, I'd be all over it...
  25. that 3er looks good...it's a 325 coupe too which is cool...so you're not stuck with some silly 318 hatchback or 4 door or something like that...it looks clean, miles are kinda high....I can have the vin checked for you if you're interested...
