  1. Speaking of Wal-Mart...the yuppies in my town got all pissed when they heard one was coming in...they prevented it from happening, and actually got the K-mart closed down as well...
  2. My thanksgiving? It was alright. We headed up to my uncle's house. He lives in Morro Bay up in/by San Luis Obisbo. He lives on a cattle ranch, a little more than 1100 acres. There is a guest house there with this 3 car garage converted into an awesome game room and he's got some quad runners and dirt bikes and stuff. We had to rent an expedition (all we could find at the time) because after getting rid of our suburban to get the X5, well, the X5 doesn't quite have the space for my family, my dog, my grandma, and all our crap. I had to drive the expedition all the way up so I figure I'd give a bit of a review...I'm sure it was a base model, no frills, cloth seats, cd player, it had fold flat 3rd row seats which were neat and the 2nd row partially reclined. It was decent I guess...We'e rented one before but this time I took closer inspection to the materials. Ford interiors are deffinitely clean looking, some look pretty good and this one looked decent...nothing extravagat. But man was it cheap. The plastics were very cheap and the "burshed-aluminum look" gauge rings looked very cheap and tacky...Oh, the seats were very uncomfortable as well and the vehicle just doesn't have the torque there. Doesn't even compare to how our suburban felt. Anyways, back to thanksgiving...My parents brought up a beautiful prime rib they got from cosco...the thing was huge...my grandma made crannberries and my mom made candied yams or sweet potatoes or whatever...Then there was the 30lb turkey which came good. There were 2 different stuffings, mashed potatoes and these other potatoes my aunt makes, the biscuits, croissants, I'm drawing a blank on what was there, but there was a lot and it was all good. There were like 7 pies, a couple pumpkin, a cherry, an apple, a lemon meringue, an olallieberry, some others, a cheesecake, a whole lotta food. The alcohol and drinks were puring everywhere, my mom made some cosmos and margaritas and there was all the beer and other liquors/alcohol you could drink. Dinner turned out pretty good. Unfortunately it got overcast...the weather turned all crappy and it started to rain a little bit. My uncle has an old jeepster commando which had a busted engine mount, so we replaced that. I went out with my cousin and uncle on the dirt bikes and quads and we did some mud rompin'. All the girls went out into town or whatever and did some shopping. The day was kind of a wash though...the weather kinda made things suck... So yea, other than that we were just hangin out in the gameroom, blastin some music (for the most part, santana and pink floyd)...just kcikin back, scoolin my family at pool, havign my dad school me at darts, playin soem ping pong, just hangin out...I love goin up to my uncle's...I'll probably head up there again in a couple weeks or so...

    DANGER!

    <_<
  10. That's cool, I've seen this before...it's not stop motion, you can buy control units and program music into them to play over an fm radio or somethign and it will sync up...pretty cool...a lot of work to wire it all it seems though http://www.animatedlighting.com/products/christmaskit.asp

    Mixed drinks

I had a feeling before I opened this that it was going to be about alcoholic beverages, but being that it is about sodas, well...Normally I just fill the cup wih some diet coke/pepsi, leaving a little room at the top which I then continue to fill with a little bit of rootbeer...the coke/pepsi almost takes the flavor of rootbeer when that happens, so it's like I'm drinking rootbeer, but it is actually mostly just diet pepsi/coke...

    New BMW M Coupe

I love this car more and more every day...it has really grown on me. I think the Coupe looks hot and I can't wait to see the M variant hit the streets...
  13. and no BV...those top 4 aren't fieros :P

  15. When looking at my mom's X5 I was curious of how to remove the battery (upon quick glance of the fuse area and spare tire well I didn't even see it). BMW likes to put the batteries in the back for weight distribution purposes I would assume. Mine is in the back of my 5, but it is easy to get to...oh well...I guess we'll deal with it when the issue arises...
  16. Sounds awesome, I live pretty much off of Decker canyon and Mulholland canyon and that general area which as I am sure you have heard are some pretty badass roads for driving, and then there's always PCH for a nice cruise, we'll deffinitely have to schedule some drives.
  17. Hey look, it's a girl! :P Neat car. I checked out your car domain and your car looks nice, from the sounds of it, must be quick too. You planning any suspension modifications? For "driving like a maniac" you sure do get great mileage...I could only wish I got that good of mileage...but my 15mpg isn't even close...Have you taken it to any strips at all? Or do you have any interesting kill stories you'd like to share? I also notice you're in the process of having a LSD built for it. what's your ratio and lockup on it, and if you don't mind me asking, how much is that gonna run you? I'd love to get a LSD on my car, though I know they aren't cheap. This thread is making me want to snap some shots of my car...I have some initially when I first got the car, but since then I've done stuff to it and I don't think I have posted any shots of it for my fellow C&G members to see...of course, right now it is a mess, sitting out on the street, lifeless (I knew I needed to replace the clutch, and I ordered a performance clutch pack for it friday...later that night my throwout bearing went out on me...needless to say, the clutch is fried and my car is undriveable until next week sometime when my clutch comes in) Oh, btw, you can go for a ride in my bimmer any time :AH-HA_wink:
  18. *land shark* :P <a href="http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=bmwm3csl200103m4fg.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/4849/bmwm3csl200103m4fg.th.jpg" border="0" /></a>
  19. Being that Saturday night my mom bought a CPO 2005 X5 4.4 for 50 grand (was 60 before some crazy negotiations) over at Bob Smith BMW in Calabassas, I'd say that there is deffinitely something wrong with that price...It's deffinitely a scam. I think it is crazy, the onyl cars on auto trader and places like that I see rediculous prices on (obvious scams) are Bimmers...they usually tend to be e36 M3's...this is the first time I've seen an X5 scam.
  20. Yea, I too have heard about issues regarding M70/73 V12's, but as you said, It's still a V12 B)
  21. Somebody smack me for forgetting these...I love the 8er...as does my dad...I think he might be selling his 5 and getting an 850...an 850csi would be awesome, but trying to find one would not only be a royal PITA but it would probably be very, very expensive as well...

    Silly Governors

I don't hit the governor in my car...it is usually at 155, but I have Dinan engine software which removes it so my car gets up into the mid 160's, maybe 170...though after 155 I really have no idea how fast I am going...my speedo doesn't go any higher...
  23. I totally agree, and I'm not bashing on the GTO or anything, I love the GTO, but price and style (especially style) are major contributing factors when it comes to cars. If the GTO had mroe style, people may be able to justify its price more. Style means a lot...take my mom for example, now, she is partial to bugs ever since owning them as a kid and being in VW clubs. She knew back then they were pieces of junk and she knows today that they still aren't that great of cars, yet she loves the beetle convertible and was trying to justify the near 30 grand price tag to get one...why? based on styling alone of course...yea, sure, they may be cute, but they are way overpriced pieces of junk. I can understand the argument of the GTO not being on the 10Best list, but obviously style plays a big role. While the GTO may be a superior car to the Mustang in most ways, it lacks in style and depending on the mustang, affordability as well. And taking into consideration every day people who dont know a whole lot about cars, people may look at the mustang, think its a great looking car and they won't see far past that. On the other hand, people will see the GTO and no matter how great the car may be, they'll see right through it because it doesn't have that style. It doesn't have that initial impact which woo's buyers and turns heads. It seems to be (in the case of these 2 cars anyways) like judging a book by it's cover.
