Well, Hollister and A&F are just as big...I personally wear A&F, but mostly because it is the most convenient...My standard A&F jeans typically run about 100 bucks. My sister actually got me to go in this store called "Metro Park" which automatically draws a red flag with me, but I did because she wanted me to try on these jeans...First I tried on True Religions, then I tried on Sevens...Both were the worst jeans I have ever worn...seriously...girls jeans in the guys section, but I guess in a store called "metro park" there really is no guys section. I'll stick with my A&F's...I love the jeans.

Heh, well, I do have a gas card, so my gas is covered, which is great for my car which gets on average 15 mpg . Not everyone else is so lucky though...I'm a chauffeuer...I get paid 60 bucks a day for about 2-3 hours worth of driving plus all the premium my car can drink...not a bad setup.
-
On a good day it will take me 20/30 minutes to get to work...normal day (otherwise known as a bad day ) about 45-60.
-
I believe In N Out has a few other places scattered around the west coast...some in Arizona, Some in Nevada...maybe in Washington and Oregon too.
-
Let's see...School in the morning, 7 miles away...so 14 miles back and forth, plus 30 miles to work and I think somewhere around the neighborhood of 45 or so back (maybe more), plus whatever else I do during the day...I dunno...it's a SoCal thing...everyone commutes it seems...or atleast most people...it's really quite a normal thing out here.
-
heh, yea...SoCal cars see a lot of miles. I drive atleast 75-100 miles every day during the week...weekends it gets its TLC and a bit of rest.
-
Mine is a 99 and I just rolled over a 100k.
-
Ok...we'll do a best 2 out of 3 race. First race is the canyon race. Second race is the 1/4 mile race. Third race is the Highway roll on 4th gear pull race. Just call me when you are ready and I will drive all the way out there to meet you :AH-HA_wink:
-
heh, yea...the shocks/springs and sways are gonna happen fairly soon though...the car is gettin up ther in age and miles so the suspension should be gone through anyways...the braces will have to wait...they can get very pricey for a nice set...especially when they have the name "Dinan" engraved in them I could probably find braces that are just as good, and I know they are out there, but I like the look of the Dinans...
-
You say just a $17,000 car, but I got mine for under 20 as well. While mine isn't fantastic either, it still handles pretty decent, and after about 1000 bux worth of koni adjustables and eibach springs, 350 in eibach sways, and around 900 in Dinan Shock/strut braces then I will have one mean machine which can outhandle damn near anything put up against it (ok...well, maybe not everything...but a lot of things)

They aren't?! Then I must have been dreaming when I saw that ///M badge on the side of that iroc the other day... I don't mean to come off the wrong way with you camaro lovers. I mean, I love camaros too, but I dont know. I mean, they seem to handle like I would expect from the type of car that they are. I've just never felt them to handle all that well...I mean, maybe I have to refresh my memroy as it has been a while since I have driven one. Though I drove an 05 GTO and that thing handled pretty decently, a lot better than the camaros I have driven anyways. And BV, well, SUV's are one thing...As far as handling goes I tend to hold cars at a higher standard than SUV's...depending on the SUV that is...I'd rather not go up against a cayenne turbo in the twisties anytime soon
-
I'm the one saying they weren't built to handle. They are muscle cars, predominantly made for straight line acceleration. Like I said, I have driven 4th gens before, and if they were made to handle, then either someone f*cked up or I just need to drive some worse handling cars for comparison.

Let's see...Right now I am going to Moorpark community college. It is a really good school and has one of the highest transfer rates of any community college in CA. I figure a community college is a great place to start. People sometimes associate negative connotations with going to a CC, but the fact of the matter is, if you find a good one like I have, the classes are significantly cheaper and the class sizes are much smaller compared to larger schools. Out of the classes I am taking right now, my largest one is probably 30 students. The teachers there are very good (and in my CC) comparable to many larger university professors. For me it is good because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do exactly, and while I am planning on majoring in business, I'm still not decided on what exactly I want to do. It seems the first 2 years in larger schools are used as a weeding process where they weed out the students who aren't ready or don't belong. While some may like the higher competition in larger schools and atmosphere university's give off (like trinacriabob stated), CC's are much more easy going and make a good transition from high school to the college life, imo. I'm really close to home so that is convenient for me. Saves me money and I've got everything I need at home, plus my friends are still around because some of them are doing the same thing I'm doing. Right now I'm just taking basic classes, pre-requisites and whatnot but I'm planning on transferring over to Pepperdine soon. They have a great business school and that's what I am looking at majoring in.

Happy Birthday dude! So how many years young does that make you today?

The cars changed...ok...it's decided...no contest

That's why I was referring to that specific one...not S2000's in general. :AH-HA_wink: I know S2000's have no torque and while they are "quick" little cars they are useless without being in the high end of the range as far as straight line racing goes, and it would take a lot of work to put it in range of a camaro as far as from a standing start. Even with all that work chances are it would get spanked in any type of highway roll-on situation. And for those of you who really do believe a camaro handles better, has the potential to handle better, or can even hang with an S2000's in the twisties, well, I'm at a loss for words. I prefer to make judgments based on real world first hand driving situations rather than reading what some article, magazine, or website said. I've driven my fair share of 4th gens. My grandma drives a Z/28 and a guy I know has a modded SS. To say the 4th gen was made to handle is a joke. It was possibly one of the worst handling cars I have driven. When I drove my buddy's, he has some suspension work done to it, upgraded shocks/springs, and sways, and while it handled significantly better than my grandma's stocker it still didn't handle all that well, and it didn't hold a candle to my car as far as handling goes and my car isn't one of the best handling cars around either. Even he agreed after taking my car for a spin. (Btw, my car's skidpad stock is in the .84 range, I'm just giving these numbers for comparison, but skidpad numbers are like 0-60 numbers...they are pretty worthless and shouldn't be used to judge how a car truly performs). Now, on to the S2000. I have had the chance to drive one of those as well (I've had the privilege to drive many different cars in the years I've been driving). My friend's sister has one and we got the chance to take it out for a spin one day. We took it ripping through the canyons (Mulholland/decker) to PCH. (btw, when I took the camaro for a test drive, we ended up in the canyons to test its capabilities as well). As far as skidpad goes for the S2000, I've seen ratings from .88 to .94. For the most part it was in the .9-range. When I took it out, this surely confirmed it. I'd actually compare the handling more towards that of an e36 M3. It was a very tossable car that took very well to the curves. Without a doubt handled worlds better than the camaro. I don't see where the argument is in here. I mean, the S2000, while not having all the power on tap that the camaro does, has a very rigid chassis and is significantly lighter than the camaro with a suspension tuned to handle the twisties. [joking] You might as well be comparing an Elise to a Suburban [/joking]
-
And actually, a stock S2000 has a 2.0 with 240 hp stock. I know it is referring to ricers in general, but the picture of that S2000 clearly shows a professionally tuned S2000 which chances are would be making much more hp than that camaro say if that camaro is stock. Also the S2000 probably weighs between 700 and 1000 lbs less than that camaro. And Balthazar, chances are even with significant suspension work to that camaro (sways, strut/shock tower braces, shocks/springs) A stock S2000 would probably still outhandle it by far. I love camaros as much as the next person, but lets face it, they were never made to handle. They were made to go fast in a straight line in stock form and they owned the roads in that respect.

And I'd venture to say those guys aren't Italian either

M6! Woooo! EDIT: Didn't even notice the 5 in the background! More Woooo!

Man, what a shocker. I had no idea. He will be missed. He was a great guy. He was very witty and intelligent which always made his posts a pleasure to read. It is sad to hear of his passing as we all shared some good times with him on the board. While recently he decided to stay away from C&G for his own reasons, the good times will surely be remembered, and it was a shame when he had a falling out with C&G as many of us members always enjoyed having him around. Rest in peace Chief. *moment of silence*

Besides, I think Utes look just as big if not larger than S-10's. Though it could've been a tornado.

Northern California FTL

I've seen that before and it is funny, but to be fair, that is an S2000 which are very good sports cars, and that specific one would more than likely give that camaro a run for it's money in the straight, and just waste it in handling.
-
I wouldn't say flashy...I'd say cluttered, but that's just me. I've always foudn Audi interiors too be a little too mechanical/console-ish. BMW interiors are probably on the more clean side, but the newer interiors, dash and center console anyways don't do it that much for me. I don't care for MB interiors. Though I love the Audi A8 interior and the Lexus SC interior as well. Oh and the XLR interior is nice too.
-
I don't think comparison should really be brought into this...I mean, MB doesn't really have a competitor for it either, unless you count the worthless c-class hatchback...Audi doesn't either. G35 coupe would be fair comparison I guess. To give the car the benefit of the doubt, it is a bad picture and the car is dirty...it's not even an official picture, so we'll see how it turns out...that still doesn't sway my previous posts any other way though. Edit: I knew it looked fake before, and it is...this is a photo chop. This is not real. I'd go here for the most up to date infor and spypics of this... http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=12313&page=9
