  1. It does look different in that picture. When I saw it in person, it looked a lot different from the pictures I'd seen. Maybe they are revising the design for final production. I wish they would post the prices.
  2. This car looks awesome! Nice pics. Where was the car on display?
  3. I think Buick and Saab should be together
  4. I'd love to see a spy shot of this

    Future Buick?

From Detroit Free Press interview with Bob Lutz. Not sure what it means for Velite. Any interpretations? Q: Does each of GM's brands need a flag-in-the-ground car to define it like the Solstice does Pontiac? A: Arguably yes. We've got all kinds of great ideas for things we can do with iconic Hummers without getting bigger and bigger. Cadillac is a no-brainer. Someday we're going to do -- it's definitely in the product plan, but not kicked off yet -- we will do an ultra-luxury sedan involving an engine of more than eight cylinders and costing far more than any Cadillac has ever cost before, but not going into the $300,000 area. As Maybach has proved to our satisfaction, nobody buys those. There aren't enough un-intelligent billionaires around. The world is running out of stupid billionaires. An iconic Chevrolet we have with the Corvette. We can probably go a step beyond Corvette and do the killer all-out performance car that embarrasses the $500,000 and million-dollar performance cars. For Saturn, it will be the Sky roadster. Buick we haven't quite figured out yet. We've got to come up with something there. You know the (Buick) Velite concept -- we just have not identified the necessary capital and engineering resources for it yet.
  6. Maybe its a coastal thing. I see plenty of 300s at the rental places near LaGuardia Airport in NYC, no LaCrosses. Ditto in Tampa, Detroit, and DC. In the past month I've seen more Lacrosses on the highways and tons of Buick ads on NY tv.
  7. I wonder about the fleet sales, too. I think they help inflate Chrysler sales figures. I always see plenty of 300s in the rental lots!

  9. Forgot to mention, the Buick guy with the Lucerne (see Connecticut post) said the average age of Buick buyers has dropped in 2005. He thought is was under 60. The Rainier, Rendezvous, and Terrazza are being credited for that.
  10. The Lesabre debuted in 1959, 46 years later it is being discontinued after an incredible sales run. When is the very last one rolling off the assembly line?
  11. I wonder if they will be real cars, or pictures of future vehicles.
  12. Why 2010? How long does it take?
  13. If getting the Camaro means we get the Buick Velite, then bring it on.
  14. This is awesome news, although I hope the Buick roadster is a 4-seater. GM should consider the failure of the Thunderbird 2-seater. GM needs a 4-seat convertible.
  15. 8 awesome color 4
  16. It is very sporty in person. It's very European looking but the portholes are definitely Buick. They had a rope around the car so you couldn't get inside, but it looked very nice inside. The guy told me it was assembled by hand for display purposes and that is why nobody could sit in it. It looks like a great car, but I kind of wish it was more Buick. Maybe if bars on the grill were bigger..more like the last Park Avenue, but I definitely liked it.
  17. in anoither C & Gforum there is talk of bringing back the Roadmaster as a RWD sedan. and convertible. Any inside info anybody?
  18. Any news on the replacement for the Rendezvous based on the Centieme concept? I know they have named the Saturn version the Outlook. I've read there are rumors Buick will get a version of the Cadillac SRX, but no details.
  19. Last week, there were two Lucernes on display at the Buick Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut, just outside Hartford. Both were silver with black interior one was in a tent, and the other was on the course. They look much bigger in person.

    Buick Velite

So automotive news reports the Velite project is still a possibility. Buick needs this car. They are the only GM division without a convertible.
