  1. I don't get it either 'blu, it was just some light-hearted humor to me. Some people take things way too seriously. I'm Catholic and they made a crack about Catholic priests in there, but I thought it was funny...
  2. The best way to get trolls to leave is to stop responding to them. The more you respond, the more it fuels their desire to keep trolling. They feed on defensive remarks and rebuttals like a pig gorges itself on slop and scraps. [Like] they say at the zoo [for bears], please don't feed the trolls.
  3. Let's see...I just got back from a trip to Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis, and here's some of what I remember: 2006 Charger 3.5L 1963 Volvo P1800 couple exactly like the one in the pic below 1968 Mercury Park Lane coupe 2006 Ford Fusion Mid 70s Cadillac DeVille Porsche 944 2005 Jaguar XJ 1973 Mustang Grande Couple '06 Sonatas Pristine early 80s Caprice
  4. Back home, I see more Mercurys than I do Toyotas or Hondas.
  5. In Ames, mostly Toyota and Honda unfortunately. Lots of base Civics and Corollas, although I see a fair share of Cavaliers and Focuses. Back home though, Ford, Chevy, and Buick are the most common.
  6. Swallowit is obviously being sarcastic...take his comments with a grain of salt.
  7. That's the spirit...hook 'em while they're young.
  8. SHAWNEE, Kan. (Sept. 26) - A would-be carjacker got away with nothing more than the keys Monday after he apparently was thwarted by the vehicle's manual transmission. The thief was armed with a shotgun when he ordered a 26-year-old man out of his Chevrolet Camaro in a suburban Kansas City parking lot. The driver complied, but when the robber got into the car he was unable to manage the stick shift. The robber fled the scene in a four-door car that someone else was driving. Police are investigating whether the attempted theft is linked to four similar robberies in Johnson County during the past week. Copyright 2005 The Associated Press
  9. Backstreet Boys, your 15 minutes of fame is long over... What I don't get about the video is they're trying to do a whole glam metal theme (albeit, in a very cheesy and cliche way) yet they put it to some soft pop song? The whole video is one big cliche...I think they were trying to go for a mockery of 80s rock. If that's the case, it's kinda funny coming from them...a 90s boy band who no one except teen girls takes seriously. The part where the nasty girl was dancing on the Fiero was trying to mimick Tawny Kitaen in the Whitesnake video "Here I Go Again" when she dances on the hood of a Jaguar...although Tawny was A LOT better looking. They put a Nikki Sixx wig on one of the band members...Sixx could kick their asses with his pinkey.
  10. I don't wash it. Ever. J/k, I'm actually a pretty hard worker, so I'm out of the running.
  11. And therein lies my problem...I used Yahoo. D'oh.
  12. Thanks Variance...where did you find that? I seriously searched the entire net and came up with nothing.
  13. I'm looking for a Firebird / Trans Am ad that came out between 1982-1985. I saved a picture of it on my computer a long time ago but can't find it anymore. It was a night pic with the Trans Am's parking lights on and a girl standing next to it with lots of fog. Does anyone have it / know where to find it?
  14. LOL, he left NOTHING untouched (except for windows and lights, thank god). I can't even imagine how damaging that has to be to one's retinas when sitting in there. Why is Minnie Mouse on a Corvette??
  15. FWD is more practical for family cars, but RWD will always be preferred for sports cars, even with torque steer tuned out to be almost non-existent. The weight balance in a RWD car is closer to 50/50, and with FWD you're stuffing the drivetrain up with the engine...it's just too messy and heavy. There is a reason that you will never see FWD Benzes or Beamers.

Wow...only in Europe. Even being a guy, I don't think I'd be taking a whiz out in public like that...even with that purple shield behind you. It'd just be awkward...relieving yourself in public.
  17. My freshmen year in college, I lived across the hall from a guy that was really into Corvettes and Chevy in general. He had 1:24 scale model Corvettes from every generation sitting on his desk, a big 50th Anniversary Corvette poster on the wall, and seemed to be wearing Corvette t-shirts every day. Anyway, I got to know him pretty well because he was the only other person on the floor into cars, and even though he didn't like Ford much, we got along well. He saw my drawings of cars and asked if I could draw him a C5 Vette (no C6 pictures had been released yet) so over the course of a few weeks I drew him a C5 Vette. I forgot about it for a while and then rediscovered it and finished it before the school year was up. He offered me $5, but I told him he could have it for free...I draw for fun. He said he'd repay me someday for it. So the summer passes and I forget all about it. He lives in the same apartment complex as me next year and one day in October I get a call saying to come down to the parking lot for a suprise. I go downstairs without a clue what it is...and lo and behold, he's standing next to a 2002 Corvette. He said his dad brought it up for the weekend and said he could drive it around for that afternoon. So then he says "get in"...and off we go. We chirped the tires heading out of the parking lot and onto a 40 mph road, he floored it up to 90, and then we kinda drove around the main drag in Ames. It was awesome...being in such a high profile car like a Corvette gets you a lot of glances from pedestrians. Some dude in a riced out Honda Civic pulled up next to us...we left his ass in the dust with ease. The roar and rumble of that LS1 was like a dream. After about an hour of driving around, we decided to head back and he did a powerslide into the corner near the apartments. I had never had an experience like that before...it was a bigtime rush. Good thing there were no cops around the entire time...two 20 year olds in a Corvette is just asking for a ticket. That experience solidified my love for GM...I could never have that much fun in a Honda or Toyota. :chevy:

  19. Not just ocean front property, but all those freshly built subdivisions in the 30 miles out from the core of the city will begin to look undesirable to the average American family as well. I bet over the next 10 years or so people will begin moving back into the city as gas prices make living in the suburbs almost unbearable for middle class families. Mass transit such a light rail will probably make a comeback in a big way. Unless we can perfect hybrids or hydrogen technology as an alternative to fossil fuels, the Manifest Destiny that America was built upon may begin to take the downward slope in later decades.
  20. Man, I forgot all about this contest. I have a nearly finished front 3/4 and a half finished rear 3/4 for my Cougar, and no interior dash. It looks like voting hasn't begun yet, but I'm not going to have time to finish this. :( EDIT: I quickly finished the front. When is the deadline for this contest?
  21. Oh, it's the same thing with my generation...except it's now about what's the MTV flavor of the week. I love older rock and have never really gotten into the new stuff, but now it seems like the 80s are coming back into vogue around campus. Kids are popping their collars and listening to new wave like it's 1985 all over again. I like some new wave stuff too, but I started listening to it before it became a trend. It's funny, because back when I was in high school around 2000, people made fun of 80s music...and now it's "cool" again. Whatever, lemmings.
  22. Sounds like you've gone through a lot--good and bad--lately. I love that Coupe DeVille...ever since I saw the black '79ish DeVille limo in Pink Floyd's movie "The Wall," I've been in love with those things.
  23. This is awesome! There is so much good news coming out of GM these days...after seeing the 2008 ION, 2007 Tahoe and Avalanche, and the leaked Escalade images...it looks like there's a lot in store for GM. I'm just itching for some Camaro spy shots right now. EDIT: I just noticed 91z4me's post...I should've figured it was too good to be true :( Well, I still have my hope.
  24. This sounds pretty incredible...let's hope this guy can make it work! Montreal Gazette From the article:
