  1. Let's see... I was considering a Magnum or Charger SRT or a Mustang for my next car, and just because I think the Challenger looks bloated and heavy, I hate all domestics except for GM. Whatever. Next...
  2. Boy, you don't realize how bloated, bulky and ugly this thing is until they line it up with the original. I know I'm one of the very few that is not impressed by a car designed by what seems a Hot Wheels designer. Oh, well.
  3. You'd have no idea you were behind the wheel of anything special. I thought they would have done something to spice it up. Chrysler will soon be owned by the French/Japanese, so does it really matter anyway?
  4. Black 2008 Mustang Bulitt. Boring. Looks like a 6-banger.
  5. OK. This is what I got: From 1991: The Sage Brush The Rio Grande The Syclone Bonneville Salt Flat Racer And I think these are from 1990: Tragically painted Sonoma Convertible: Tragically painted Syclone (dig the neon exhaust tips... HELLLLLOOOOOO 90's!) And a very interesting GMC Sierra that looks oddly like an El Camino:
  6. I saw it in person at the NY Auto show. I think GMC had a host of concepts that year, along with the Bonnie Salt Flats Syclone. I know I have pics, I'll find em and scan em. No the C-pillars are the taillights.
  7. NOS - here it is: And some others I found
  8. Here's a blast from my past. When I got my first computer, I only had MS Paint to play around with and I found the drawings that I did pixel by pixel. Not too bad with what I had to work with. I'm guessing this was 1993/94.
  9. Dealership by me has a maroon one sitting for about two weeks now.
  10. On of the big "issues" I always heard from the 70's was that because there is no driveshaft tunnel, and the engine can be turned transversely, you can package more space into the interior of a FWD car, while having a smaller, lighter vehicle. Smaller vehicle outside, lighter overall vehicle, better MPH. Don't know how that holds up now, but that was one of the excuses back then. I still think GM is gun-shy over moving a bread-and-butter vehicle over to RWD, when they will lose some of the snow-belt states that still want FWD. If you make it RWD and offer AWD, then the weight is up, hence lowering MPG (What's the take rate on 300/Charger AWD systems? Low I bet). I'm just playing devil's advocate here. I want a RWD Impala and more Zetas here in the states. But if we have to sacrifice a RWD Impala to get the Alpha cars quicker, then I'm for it. The Alphas may be more my price range anyway. If we are losing RWD totally, then I'm just annoyed.
  11. I had to go to Edmunds to build one since it does not appear on the GM BuyPower site yet either.
  12. OK. So what's the deal with this car and GM. The Pontiac site has not been updated with REAL production info - still the intro stuff that has been there for months. Every report I see of the car has all the CONCEPT car pictures. And every picture I have seen has been of a "pre-production" vehicle. I don't think I've ever seen an interior pic of the real thing yet. Why so secretive?
  13. For any science/space buffs out there, there are some really great shots from Messenger - doing a fly-by of the planet Mercury. This is a pic of the previously unseen side: Hi res shots here: http://messenger.jhuapl.edu/gallery/scienc...hp?gallery_id=2 Makes me wish I followed into the science field. I find it so amazing now that I am older.
  14. fixed Just because something is selling well does not automatically mean has style. The Camry is the king of sales, and the king of plain jane appliance non-style.
  15. This is a little weird, but I would interpret that as " you have the right to express your opinions/speech and you have to right to turn off your radio/TV, not vote and keep your mouth shut and not express anything." No one forces us to vote or speak out. If voting was mandatory, then I think the freedom from speech would be shut down. You have the freedom to be apathetic and do nothing about it. So I guess it kind of works if I look at it that way. A lot of the sue happy people aren't doing it for the principal, their just general trouble-makers and love it. I have no problem with a tree in a public building (hell, it's a Pagan tradition anyways, I put up a tree and celebrate Winter Solstice just like they did thousands of years ago) also long as there is a chance for other groups to add their "holiday traditions" also to the mix if it is asked. Just an "all things being equal" thing. Personally, I think that all religions are nuts, but I'm not advocating the shutting down of churches... though I would like to talk about that "tax-exempt" BS. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. I don't think I understand what you're arguing here? Freedom of Religion MEANS freedom from Religion. NO government mandated religion (laws based on Christianity, or any other religion). If you don't want to be religious, you are free do do so. If you don't believe in a god, you are also free to do so. Why should I be a 3rd class citizen because I'm an atheist? I don't want you to teach religion in public schools (re Intelligent Design). You seem to have the Freedom of Religion idea a little messed up. Read some biographies of Jefferson, Washington, Hamilton, etc to get a feel for what they really felt on Religion in government. There are some very interesting ideas there. I would expect someone who is supporting a Libertarian in Republican clothing (Ron Paul) to believe in the whole "Government out of my bedroom/personal life" idea. That's the one Libertarian ideal I believe in.
  17. It really doesn't take much searching to prove that Huckabee is a liar: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/137/ Other than the fact that many of the founding fathers were Deists, the Treaty of Tripoli is usually the "written" source (other than the statement "separation of church and state". How much CLEARER can that be.) for proof that the US was not a "Christian" nation, but a secular one. Authored by American diplomat Joel Barlow in 1796, the following treaty was sent to the floor of the Senate, June 7, 1797, where it was read aloud in its entirety and unanimously approved. John Adams, having seen the treaty, signed it and proudly proclaimed it to the Nation. http://www.stephenjaygould.org/ctrl/treaty_tripoli.html
  18. I have a bigger tire/wheel combination on my wheelbarrow. I'd rather strap a lawnmower engine on a Little Tykes Cozy Coupe. Looks better and probably safer.
  19. If you read the jackass comments on Autoblog -> It is proof that these kind of spy photos are nothing but damaging. That interior is nothing but a taped and glued together mule, but the comments read "horrible plastics used" and "what wrong with GM using all that gray plastic." These fn' people are idiots. No wonder I'm so anti-social. The general public is a bunch a morons. Back to my cave.
