Cake has some of my favorite lyrics (and songs) This one's got a Chevy in it that advocates bench seats --- Stick Shifts and Safety Belts: Stick shifts and safety belts Bucket seats have all got to go When I'm driving in my car It makes my baby seem so far I need you here with me Not way over in a bucket seat I need you to be here with me not way over in a bucket seat But when we're driving in my Malibu It's easy to get right next to you I say "Baby, scoot over please" And then she's right there next to me I need you here with me Not way over in a bucket seat I need you to be here with me Not way over in a bucket seat Well a lot of good cars are Japanese But when we're driving far I need my baby, I need my baby next to me Ah..well Stick shifts and safety belts Bucket seats have all got to go When I'm driving in my car It makes my baby seem so far I need you here with me Not way over in a bucket seat I need you to be here with me Not way over in a bucket seat -------------------------------------- And then Race Car Ya-Yas The land of race car ya-yas The land where you can't change lanes The land where large fuzzy dice Still hang proudly like testicles From rear view mirrors The land of race car ya-yas The land where you can't change lanes The land where large fuzzy dice Still hang proudly like testicles From rear view mirrors The land of race car ya-yas Ya-yas Aw Naw The land of race car ya-yas The land of race car ya-yas Race car ya-yas

I think the lack of real leaders has brow-beaten us little guys into thinking that voting doesn't make a difference, that every politican is the same and out for one thing, their own agenda. I think this current administration is getting those of us that couldn't give two flying craps about politics into it. I listen to talk radio now, I know a lot of what's going on and all of the names involved. That is something I would not be able to say 5 years ago. As soon as what this contry does as a whole starts impeding on OUR liberties, those things that make us PROUD to be American, then we have no choice but to get involved. It's ashamed it has to get that bad for some of us to get involved, but I'm guilty as charged. SingleStylish, I respect everyone's opnions and religious beliefs, and it seems that you are the same way, but that understanding is something that many in the right-wing media spots do not do and they use this unbending "America must have our Christian way of thinking as law or God will continue to send terrorists, hurricanes and floods our way." That is scary. And you said it exaclty - IT ISN'T THE ROLE OF THE GOVERNMENT, but they sure as hell make sure that is on their talking points for the media and forced it down the general public until they think that it IS the role of the government. I'm all for ensuring that the evening news headlines are "environment, healthcare, old age, responsible spending, education, education, education, and foremost an interest in the government that surrounds you" but I fear until people grow up, arguments about sex, religion and what you and I do in the privacy of our own homes is a hell of a lot more interesting than healthcare. And that's a damn shame. And remember I respect everyone's views, and I respect someone's rights to believe that I'm full of $h!. I DON'T respect anyone's right to force me to believe one way or another. Thanks for the intellegent response SingleStylish, it's refreshing to have someone on the other side agree and disagree to come to the same conculsion.

The current administration has done a great job in derailing the common sheeple Americans into worrying more about gays marrying and teaching creationism in public schools instead of the actual issues that effect them personaly like healthcare and job losses. They constantly con the poor to vote against thier betterment to insure "them queers don't marry." You get what you vote for... No healthcare, no jobs but two people who love each other cannot legaly be married and "confirmation" that nothing evolves. Ugh. What's the opposite of the "Age of Enlightenment"? I fear we are entering that Age in the USA now.

Then you should be happy, instead of bitching, that GM has announced that the Z71 package on the 2007 Tahoe and Suburban (and probably the same on the Silverado) is once again a stand-alone suspension option with a few external tip-offs instead of an all-encompassing uber-edition of the truck. They are listening, but as usual, no one wants to give credit where credit is due. It's much more fun to bitch. We must let GM know what is doing wrong, but also must be aware when they make changes. Somebody's listening, a little too late for the Titan owner, but I'm sure after a few years in a Titan, he'll be back in a Chevy. And HHRs LT2's around here have cloth and about $20,000. I know because I am actually looking for one with leather/heated seats and there are very few around. Don't blame GM for $h!ty dealer orders. Chances are the people involved in ordering have no idea WHAT they are ordering. Trust me, I've seen the inner workings at one Chevy dealer and it was a joke. And yes, THAT is what should change.

How come the SSR has a 2007 build date? Jul-31-2006 I know it's dead and Chevy has enough in inventory to last until 2008. Must be an oversight.

Holy schnickes! Did I just read that? And from Healey no less. Are people already tired of Toyota being number 1 even before they get there.?

Normal person: "Look the sky is blue!" Consumer Reports: "We all agree here that the sky is really green." Normal person: "No, really... Look! The sky is blue!" Consumer Reports: "We collected years of error-filled, biased data and all confirm that you are wrong and the sky is green." Normal Person: "You guys are a bunch of "holier-than-thou" jerk-offs. I'll take your magazine and shove it up my ass!" Asshole that reads and quotes Consumer Reports as scripture: "Isn't the clear green sky beautiful today?" NOTE: Before someone "defends" the idiots at ####sumer Reports, make sure you read the above article at the link. If you still feel like defending them, then the magazine is written right at your grade level. You're a perfect match.

I swear to god, when I saw this picture in the new issue of AutoWeek, I said "What is an ION doing at the Toyko Auto Salon, but then I realized that this is the Asian Civic. I'm still convinced it's an ION Red Line...

Don't expect the Z71 to look any different than the regular Tahoe. Official from GM: The Z71-equipped Tahoe is scheduled to start production late in the third quarter of 2006, and will arrive at dealerships in the fourth quarter. The Z71 will be a suspension available across the LT trim – not its own model. Many of the popular design features found on the previous-generation Tahoe Z71 -- such as monochromatic exterior components and larger wheels -- were integrated into the total design of the 2007 Tahoe.

I have a Camaro Z28 as a daily driver and will most likely either go to a GTO or new Camaro.
-
GM uses fake wheel pictures stuck onto the tires to simulate wheels on clay/foam models. These are real pictures of the design mock-ups.
-
Those are official dealer images. The wierdness that you see is GM using software to change the colors on the same image. Those are official pictures of the Avalanche.
-
GM Released some "behind the scenes" Camaro concept pics and it is the earlier model. Here are VERY CLEAR shots of it. It has a much more of a 1969 vibe in the front. I like the real concept much better. And this one looks like it is based on that GTO concept from years ago. Thank god that never saw the light of day.

That is for the rear seat DVD player. GM moved the actual player to the front so parents wouldn't have to reach into the back and put in a DVD for those watching.

The Avalanche offers two things over the crew cab: 1. It's built off a Suburban - this is significant because the bed is ATTACHED to the cab, unlike the detached bed of the crew cab. THis really adds to the ride and drive of the vehicle. 2. The mid-gate. This is something that no other manufacturer has and it is awesome, especially now that the rear window will roll down instead of popping out. You can carry 4x8 sheets of plywood/sheetrock completely covered from the weather, something NO ONE'S crew cab can do.

I drove the GXP for a week and it was a perfect compliment for getting out of my Z28. The torque steer is managed by the traction control. YOu have to nail it HARD to get the wheel to jerk, and even then it's not really startling if your looking for it. Since the GXP price has dropped, I have it priced out at $30, 500 - That's with leather/heated seats, sunroof and XM. If you are into the "old school" cars, loud exhaust, V-8 power (even though it's FWD, it is fast) and not looking for a car to go to SCCA events with, but a very comfortable, quick and fun car, the GXP is great. I've only driven the CTS-V (2005 for a week) so I can't say how the 3.6 compares, the I found the CTS a little cramped (expecially for a stick) and would rather have the GXP over a base CTS (the CTS-V was a brute) because you can have a loaded hot rod for a little over $30,000. If you want a more refined drive and can live with less power and less trinkets, then maybe the CTS. If you hold off for a GP replacement, you'll be waiting for a while. I don't expect GM to put too much more investment in the W-Body as far as updates are concerned.

I know the origin of the bumble bee stripe, but never thought a bee with a helmet, sunglasses and headers was cool. It was silly to me and I was 5 years old. And it doesn't wear well. It's reaks of the 70s. Some things translate well, others, not so much. My dad had just a Road Runner and I liked that as a kid, Can we have one of those again? I'll take a Super Bird but you can keep the bee.
