  1. Went to a local cruise night here in Spotswood, NJ and have some pics to share. First pics of the Best In Show winner. To many, this car may look familiar. Yes, that's my 1963 Studebaker Avanti. I didn't expect to get Best In Show, but I'll certainly take it! Now on to other cars there. There were two other Studes at the show, both Gran Turismo Hawks. This one is a 1964. They were as ahead of their time as the Avanti was.
  2. Peter Cullen: It was made official by Paramount. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0191520/ For those that don't know Peter Cullen, he was the original Optimus Prime.
  3. A lot of that "next" Fiero was used in the Gen4 F-body, including the IP. Here's some great shots of the actual car: http://www.spmicro.com/gallery/album36/aaa And my 1986 V-6 that I loved to drive:
  4. 1989 Pontiac Fiero (that never happened)
  5. Just for the hell of it, I downloaded the Hi-res pic and sho 'nuff it's a MAX
  6. The Cali Trofeo concept at the NY Auto Show. I loved those last few Tornados...
  7. I assumed that they numbered their pics in order (1,2,3 and so on) but they didn't. That's why there were pics of the Milan and T&C. I corrected the pics now.
  8. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/13939015/ I know there are a lot of "import" media apologizers, but if this just isn't the kick in the balls to the Domestics. Just to prove that the imports do not have bad cars, Forbes brings you the Worst American cars. For this article, the media has no problem with making the distinction between American cars and those built in America, "we mean vehicles built by American brands and sold here, not cars that are built by foreign companies in the U.S." The Camry is all American if you listen to Toyota and CR, but in this instance, whoops, only cars manufactured by American companies need only apply. Twisted logic: One of the worst is the Dodge Sprinter Van, a cargo van designed by Mercedes Benz for the European market. There's an ALL AMERICAN CAR right there. Those damn Americans. And to make it worse, it is only on the list because it's an "American Car With Worst Predicted Depreciation". It's an EFFIN panel van used by businesses, of course it can't hold its value - 90% are beat to $h! becuase that's what they are purchased for! This slide show should be called "The War on Brains: For rich people who need more confirmation that their overpriced Lexus was the best choice". Should we take solace and say this is balanced media (as balanced as Falafel O'Reily) because they start a pure negative article with "Corvettes and Cadillacs demonstrate that American carmakers are building the best vehicles they have ever built." Oh, thanks mister Forbes writer for picking a few Domestics that you may like before making a horribly thought-out slide show on all other domestic cars. And what makes it all worthwhile is that they use the bull$h! scribbled on the pages of Consumer Reports as their holy bible. Yes the last bastion of truth and justice and fairness in the world. I'm sure CR couldn't find 10 imports that they would dare call "worse". And this list is not about the worse cars that "fall apart" in your hand, it's about gas mileage, depreciation and eco-friendliness. (And keep in mind, a lot of them are used in PROFESSIONAL jobs. Without the big trucks from GM Ford and DCX, how pray-tell do you expect you would get that four car garage built to keep your 13 mpg Lexus LX out of the elements?) And it's also about picking those vehciles that are on life-support like Ford's Panthers, the bad GM minivans and the over the hill Ranger. I’m sure the mainstream media-lovers will come to defend this article as just another “conspiracy theory” , but I don’t call them out that often. And if there was a companion story called “The Worst Imported Cars of 2006” I’d shut up. I checked Forbes Autos and saw nothing like that, and why would it; that would only be fair and balanced reporting and in today’s Tabloid-ified mainstream news media, when they say your getting all sides of the story, you can rest assured that you're not. Fire away! 9. This is all I have from my HD. First old auto show pics, then old dealer pics and then from the Oldsmobile future video shared by 98.

    In Retrospect

I have these old pics from the NY Auto show when the XP was a new concept:
  11. While the structureless blades on my G6 are nice, they cause the car to have the most annoying thing on any car - the hood nipples to shoot the spray. I hate the hood nipples, especialy when they are black. My 2006 MAXX SS has regular blades, but the sprayers are built into the arms themselves (the perfect design) and there are no hood nipples. My Z28 has the sprayers built into the lower windshield vents and the blades are HUGE with the little wind wings to keep the blades firmly attached to the windshild at high speeds. I loved the opposite blades on my 1992 Grand Prix and my dad's Vette.
  12. You know what? F all you winers out there, that was a beautiful car.
  13. Yeah, everything I can find about it says 69, but I know that I had an insert for my 67 that showed it. Maybe it was a "dealer" installed thing.
  14. I know my 1967 Camaro had a liquid traction option, but I don't think headlight washers. Though my RS did have hide-aways.
  15. A new job with a 50-mile ride in heavy traffic. I don't want to put my 96 Camaro through that. I really hate to do it, but...
  16. Silver painted Steelies on a $20,000+ SUV is OK then... Please, cover those things up! In 4 years they'll be all rusted anyway. Black bumpers and steel wheels... what is this a 1991 Cavalier?

  18. Just as an aside, DCX did sell 10 Tomahawks - non-running - through Neiman Marcus for $550,000 - just a half-of-million dollar paperweight. Neiman Marcus invites you to own the Dodge Tomahawk, a hand-built reproduction of the widely acclaimed concept vehicle unveiled by DaimlerChrysler at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. This piece of automotive sculpture was commissioned by DaimlerChrysler and fabricated by the original builders. The single passenger Tomahawk is sculpted of aluminum around a 505 cubic inch, V-10 Dodge Viper engine. The Tomahawk is a concept only; it is not a fully operational vehicle and cannot be legally operated on public roads. It's a collector's display piece, a true gem with cutting edge design and Art Deco-inspired style. ($555,000, page 61)
  19. Screw the CTS-V, I'll trade 'em my Earnhardt IROC Trans-Am. It's Nitro powered! It's even been raced:
  20. We have seen spy shots of an Equinox with duals, assuming it would be an Equinox SS, so to think its brother the Torrent would get the same treatment isn't far fetched. Those trucks are in a dire need of a HP infusement and an interior make over. Oh, and welcome!
  21. Congrats. If it wasn't for the 0%-72, I'd be in a 2LT HHR also, but the deal made it so the car that I really wanted (I found stepping out of my Z28 and into the 172-hp HHR tough, the HHR moves, but not as fast as I liked). I thought the HHR was a well packaged vehicle. Good luck.
  22. Thing is, the SS really isn't the TOP trim, the LTZ is. The Malibu SS does not have a few of the "lux" options that the LTZ has and if the Malibu MAXX SS did not exist, I would have never bought 1. a Malibu sedan or 2. A Malibu without the SS pieces that give it the little something extra. Sure I'd love more HP, but I can play with the aftermarket for that. The days are gone when 1 car line can offer 10 different engines since it's so hard just to get one through emissions/EPA testing. I remember when we bought our 1988 IROC, you really had three V-8 choices in the Camaro, the 305, 305 TPI and 350 TPI. Those days are long gone.
  23. I've seen a LaCrosse with ports around NJ. On the flip side, I saw a black Dodge Charger SXT with the port holes from the Park Ave Ultra on each fender. At least there were three on each side to match the 6-banger, but Buick port holes on the Dodge? Horrible.
