  1. LOL One sweet set of numbers.
  2. To me its more about each inidvidual design. Some cars can carry a 'retro' design well. But it should be used on very few designs otherwise it dilutes the effect and makes everything just look OLD.
  3. I couldn't even make it halfway through the first movie.
  4. I love it. I actually used a similar one in our Camaro Clubs newsletter last year when I was president.
  5. Great I am going to have to go out and look at all 7 of them. Thanks
  6. If you can get a personal loan without an unreasonable interest rate then that would put the car in your name and not the banks. It would wind up costing a bunch more though. As for finding a bank to loan you the money with a car this age as collateral, it may not be that hard. I financed part of my 71 Camaro through a regualr bank and got an interest rate of 7.24%. OK, that may seem high for a car loan but remember the car is 35 years old. I've seen banks do loans for cars the age of the one you are looking at. Do some research and call some financial institutions, you may be pleasantly surprised. One last thing BV-you mentioned a list of cars you were interested in and then a set of criteria. You may have missed a few cars in your list based on your criteria. I may get slammed for suggesting a Toyota but, one of the cars you missed was the 90s MR2s. 4 Cyl, RWD, 2 doors, fun to drive. I am sure you probably missed some others that you may wind up enjoying. No matter what you decide, good luck.
  7. Good work NOS. I've got a friend at work who wants to do something with his 6 cyl Camaro. Maybe this will give him some ideas. Keep up the good work.
  8. Congrats. That Sky is beautiful. I LOVE the color. Enjoy!
  9. Well, I know our Camaro Club out here is keeping up on the pressure. We've got lots of members pushing hard to see the new car in production (and in our garages). I am just waiting patiently (OK, not so patiently) for the official announcement.
  10. I've got absolutely NO idea how many times the odometer on my old 67 C-10 has rolled over. Probably at least twice and it STILL has original stright six in it (at least for now) I pretty much expect any GM truck I own to last me at least 200K miles. They've never let me down. Hmm, I have to check with my brother to see what his 90 GMC 1 ton dually and 95 GMC 1/2 ton are at.
  11. I've seen this on TV around here recently. I liked it when I saw it first and I think it still makes a good commercial. As for this being a 'Pontiac' commercial. Get real. This ties current lines to the heritage of everything that was great about GM products in the past. It gives GM a chance to show some of their current winners across the entire board making a better commercial. Currently Pontiac does not have much to really excite me. I love the Solstice but wouldn't buy one for the same reason I gave up my Vette (2 kids). Outside of the GTO there's not much there I am interested in. Just my .02
  12. Drool... I love this car more each time I see it. Thanks for posting these.
  13. It has a 355 under the hood and a 4 speed T-10 tranny. The whole car is in great shape and we plan on keeping it that way. z28luvr01- Tammy agrees with you on the hood. I myself think its a little much but have no plans right now to change it. We also found out that one of the previous owners has the orginal engine in his garage. He's supposed to contact us to see about us getting that too.
  14. I told Tammy that if we got a second gen it had to be 70-73 and an RS.
  15. Well, TAmmy and I were selling our 99 Z/28 because I was thinking about another classic car and I wasn't using the 99 as a daily driver, which is why we bought it. We found this... They gave us $7000 for our 99 which had a lot of miles on it and we argued them down to $14500 for the 71. As soon as I get a nice day around here that I don't have to work i will get some better pics of this one. Hmmm, looks like my website needs updating, AGAIN.
  16. OK so she is insane. I could have told you all that a long time ago. It is hard to beat a car that gets nearly 50 MPG and only cost me $500.
  17. You had to pass up both a 67 RS convertible and a GS Stage 1????? Think about what both of those cost now, even in bad shape. :hissyfit:
  18. Yep, I'm that way. I try very hard to see both sides of an issue and look at it from many points of view. Except for that 'ricer' thing. I have a very fixed view on ugly cars!
  19. Oh Lord she finally found me here, I love having a wife who is into cars and racing. It does get expensive though. The best way I think we can give everyone to see pics of our cars is to post our website. hpiv.net Everything is up there; the 72 Skylark, 67 C-10, all three Camaros, and the 99 Silverado. OK, I didn't post pics of the Metro but who in their right mind would do that?
  20. I was serious, this one dealer has almost every car on their lot marked up. This is not a joke. I have NEVER paid a markup on a new vehicle. I have told dealerships to forget it if they want my business. And, yes, I have been able to get the car. Right now there is no car out there I want so badly as to an extra $5000 or more on it.
  21. Having the Ute to start from makes the expenses a lot less. I would love to see a new El Camino. The really need to listen to the 'kids' on this one.
  22. As nice as this is to have, I still prefer the manual. Much more fun. But for those who can't or don't want to drive a stick, then this is a much better option for them. Should wind up with some better real life fuel economies as well.
  23. The early Firebirds did of course have their own powertrains and that made them truly different. By 82 though, both F-Bodies shared the same engines and it was styling alone that sepatated them. Except of course for the 89 turbo Trans Am.
  24. 2 4 3 Great chops everyone!
