  1. There's a rare early 80's Civic in the background of this picture.
  2. Some of the cars not list are affected too. Why is the 97-2000 Lumina with the 3100 on the list but not the Grand Am from those years that had the same engine?
  3. A great commercial, we could use more like this one
  4. Wheather this does go anywhere or not the fact is this was a huge problem that caused them to loose thousands and thousands of customers and if they would of had the brains to accept responsibility they would of been better off in the long run. People don't mind if you make a mistake and own up to it but people really, really get pissed off if they know a manufacturer has a defect and does nothing to help them.
  5. I hate lawyers but I hate even more the fact that GM looked the other way with this problem and so many people got screwed with this repair so I hope the lawyers take them to the cleaners. This problem alone has caused them to loose hundreds of thousands of customers and they're just too dumb to see it. Just the other night I had to take it on the chin about this problem when I was defending GM when some jerkoff at a party I was at was saying all GM cars are junk. At least they could of started telling owners 5 years ago when the started seeing this problem to take their cars to the dealer to have the engine looked at, maybe change the coolant for free, pick up some of the tab or something like that but they chose to look the other way. Dam fools
  6. No, let them continue full speed ahead this is getting interesting.
  7. A new tranny for a G6 already? Do you kick the crap out of it?
  8. I think any car can make it to 200k but the question is how much repairs were required in order for it to get there? I had a very bad GM related weekend. Saturday night I went to a party and was talking to a guy who was in the market for a new SUV, he has a 94 Safari an was thinking of getting an Equinox but is afraid of all the bad press GM is getting these days. I tried to put in a good word for the General then some asspicker at the table says all GM cars are junk and for him to stay away from them. I had had a few and decided I was going to stick up for the General and challenge this clown on his statements. Won't get into all the details but I can tell you I wanted to put this guy through the wall and I had a hard time sleeping that night. Sunday I took a drive to see friends in upstate New York and two Chevy dealers in two different small towns have gone out of business since I was last there, Very discouraging. I get to my friends house and we get to talking about his 2001 Silverado ( he has about 5 cars) and it turns out his motor is knocking and he's trying to get them to cover it. I guess he won't be making it to the 200k club. Then to top it all off I see on the news last night there has been a class action law suit filed against GM Canada for the intake manifold gasket problems on the V6 engines and I thought I hope the lawyers take them to the cleaners for this cause I know so many people who had this problem and GM just looked the other way. Then I was wondering why was I sticking up for this company?
  9. Nice to see they Toyota is not God's gift to the auto world. Love the name of the dealership - RICE Toyota.
  10. G6 is getting Impala's 3.5 and its up to 224 HP like in the Aura, great news. GT is getting the amazing Chrome tech wheels and side air bags as standard equipment. For 06 this two options would of cost me 2k. Glad I decided to wait for 07.
  11. Yeh Baby! What a nice set of knockers!
  12. What choice did management have? Don't sign and get hit with a crippling strike? We'll see what happens in Sept. 07.
  13. Let's all pray that oil prices don't go through the roof or GM will be in big trouble.
  14. I think they will continue to lose share for the next couple of years. How can a company whose name is constantly in the news with the word "Bankruptcy" in the headline going to increase sales. I think it'll be another tough 1.5 years for GM. A Tsunami wiping Tokyo off the map would help.
  15. Maybe not Impala GP or Monte Carlo sales but think of the expose the Chevy name gets, the commercials, pace cars etc. Tons of NASCAR fans drive Chevy pick ups.
  16. I'm not a big fan of NASCAR but I do like the expose Chevy gets out of it. I would be disgusted if GM were to drop out and Toyota or another foreign company replaced them. I don't have a calculator handy but I think GM could get 140 million in sales from all the expose they get.
  17. Brad pitt made the list cause he they said he smells like B O all the time.
  18. I've always said Echo-tec.
  19. How is the demolition coming along? How close is the new LGR plant to this area?
  20. That's for sure. At least have an optional engine with respectable HP.
  21. So true. Sooner or later the HP and transmision gear war has to end. Who would of thought we'd have cars with more gears than cylinders.
  22. I like these statements by Lutz and his ''just wait and see" talk about GM being great again but I've been hearing the same thing from GM execs for the past 15 years I've been following them so like the skeptics I'll beleive it when I see it.
  23. I never understood why Honda paired the Hybrid with the V6 in the Accord, that was a dumb move.
  24. True, plus ABS was always standard on GT and GTP. Nice to see a good deal of changes and upgrades. Nice to see side air bags standard but why not make the seat air bags standard too.Is ONSTAR standard now on higher trims or still an option? Hopefully GT will get nicer wheeels standard, the available chrome tech wheels are beautiful but they are a rip off.
  25. Too bad this piece wasn't published in a NYC newspaper for auto show goers to see it.
